Jason, what makes your channel stand out from the crowd is that you are willing to go further and deeper into the Wide, Wide World of Bourbon than so many others. There is SO much more to the story than just reviewing the next wildly overpriced limited and allocated release most of us poor SOB's will never have a shot at.
If there were a poll, I'd say The Mash and Drum is the hands-down BEST on WhiskeyTube. Throw in the fact you are reppin' C-Bus makes me want to buy you a drink sometime, my man. 🥃 Keep preachin' the Gospel of Bourbon. 🥃

My grandfather was a lawyer in NYC when Prohibition was in acted. He told me before Prohibition, whiskey was predominantly Rye and everything was barrel proof. If you wanted a drink, you got a shot. Anything not barrel proof was considered poison. During Prohibition, the moonshine tasted so bad that people started mixing drinks.

3 more reasons Heaven Hill is my favorite distillery. I know it’s much more of a trend to like Buffalo Trace, but HH wins out for me due to availability and price. I don’t mind spending for a quality bourbon, but I also don’t want to spend $60 for Weller Special Reserve. By the way, Jason, got Batches 2 and 3 of K.Luke this past weekend.

I was in my 20s when Pikesville rye left Maryland for Kentucky. This was heartbreaking for those true Maryland rye drinkers like myself.
I actually still have bottles of Pikesville rye that were distilled and bottled in Maryland.
Recently got the Kentucky Pikesville rye, looking forward to trying it. I'm absolutely thrilled to see Maryland was recognized on the label. It's a great bottle and label.

Great job Jason and Bernie! Loved this video! Obviously big fan of the maryland and KY style ryes vs Indiana, PA style. Love my sweet corn with my rye :)

A friend and I are hosting a tasting this coming Saturday with these 3. We won't tell the folks until the end that they are all Heaven Hill, same mash bill, and the same location in the warehouses. It should be fun. Thanks for the vid.

Watched 10 months ago and rewatching now. Still enjoy the Elijah Craig rye! After watching this video I picked up the Pikesville rye and finished the bottle in a couple of months! It’s a really flavorful neat pour!

Love learning the history of whiskey. It's unfortunately not taught in schools outside of Kentucky and I'm not sure how much they spend on this subject. I like all aspects of whiskey from rye to finished Scotch also. I feel sorry for those that limit themselves to just “bourbon” like I have seen many do. Great show Jason. Enjoy!!

Great show Jason! Love hearing the history behind the brands. I’m a fan of the Elijah Craig Rye, love the citrus and other flavors even at a low proof. I can remember my dad having vanilla bean ice cream with a splash of bourbon back in the late sixties early seventies.

What a memory jogger. 20 years ago I had Armagnac on prune ice cream at a small restaurant in Toulouse, France. Was skeptical at first (prune ice cream?) but it was delicious! The Armagnac was more intense the deeper you got into the dessert. I have never seen it in the US but Bernie has me thinking about it.

Pikesville is the rye I’d serve someone who is a bourbon fan that thinks they don’t like rye. It’s got the best of both worlds (bourbon and rye).

Big fan of Rittenhouse, it's my go to for making Sazerac's along with Old Overholt BiB. Pikesville is also outstanding but I mostly sip it neat. Not really a fan of the Elijah Craig at 94 proof. Wish they would make a barrel proof limited release, with the extra age that could be great.

If I'm correct, I believe I am, George Washington encouraged the making of rye whiskey, considered rye whiskey and uniquely American, same as bourbon but rye is a little dryer, whereas bourbon is more sweet, corn mash vs rye mash!

As a person raised in philly i did not connect the rittenhouse connection. I will say they did darken the colors a bit to make those rye look very dark as you can tell by the color of the pikesville label being more brown than green as i stare at my empty bottle on the counter
