I know that Gypsum can sometimes be beneficial for clay soil in California, but is it really needed for the potting mix we use?

Not needed, but it’s in Grow Power, has many benefits especially for helping with the salts in our hard water. Some Aussies and I have been experimenting with it for 2 seasons now and Scott is definitely smart to apply gypsum in my opinion.
