They do make Bi-metal blades for them turn down the speed and put some oil or water on to keep the temp down. I have no speed control on my Pro Power 2001 model which is a major problem for hard materials
Do check the brushes and commutator for wear. The brush's connecting wires need to be securely tightened. Also the brushes need to slide freely in their brass channels and the springs need to provide equal pressure. I suspect that the original problem are the brushes and the vibrations from shipping has caused the brushes to slip down thus working again for the moment. Don't rule out the switch either as it's also a high failure component. You failed to operate the lever on the side of the saw on camera. Does it work properly? There should be manuals and parts manuals available online for that saw. That's a great score if you get all the kinks ironed out! Just an eBay heads up. The reason given for the sale could just as easily be given to cover the theft of the tool for resale. If you don't find anything seriously wrong...
Good information, thanks. I will take a look at the brushes. I did try the lever on the side and in fact all of the various settings and all seem good. I'll try to do a follow up video, cheers.
Love how he has a full apron on and proper safety gear but wears flip flops
Guilty as charged.
Did you try the pendulum action. Chances are the bolt was harden steel and was really not what the saw was ment to cut
I did. I think you're right though, it was never going to cut that bolt!

Owen Davies Interesting. The world of reciprocating saws is new to me. Thanks for the information.
Watch sparks and hot metal on your toes. Nice purchase.
Haha! I didn't notice that the camera angle shows my safety footwear until you pointed it out!
You may regret having used the high strength version of Loctite which needs heat to release.

And here's the follow up: th-cam.com/video/wDixwcDCbzE/w-d-xo.html
I saw what you did there
I dropped it on my foot and it's still saw.
That wasn't bad tor twenty quid. It's over a hundred quid's worth.
Yes, bit of a result. As Peter Haan commented, I think spend another fiver and examine and change the brushes now that it's working.
