Nice conversation at the top of the 40 meter shortwave band on topics ranging from the upcoming Sussex (NJ) hamfest, some heavy duty plate transformers till in their shipping crates, a strapping modulation transformer, and radios of the evening that include a nice sounding screen modulated transmitter, "The Wolf" transceiver, and other assorted subjects.
As the group prepared to sign off for the night, Brett closed with an excellent summary and characterization of an evening spent well on the radio:

Best about the KIWI is his Synchronous AM detector, which is autotuning the center frequency, especially weak signals and Fading.

Agree. It's also really helpful to be able to pull the passband to the chunk with the least amount of interference when conditions get congested.
