Love this town! Always try and vacation atleast twice a year. The mountains and the beautiful river always draws me back. Hope to buy a home in bullhead across the river one day
My wife and I went to So Lake Tahoe Harrah’s in July. We are both in our 60s, and each have cancer,we loved our rooms with a full Lake Tahoe view. We really enjoyed it. Food for thought if you go there.

Love this place. We went on junkets from Wisconsin to Laughlin for years...cheap and relaxing. Nothing extravagant, pool is meh but we go to Vegas for the upscale stuff. This is a cheap, short getaway. Nice vid!
I went to Laughlin in the Spring of 2022. It was a very good experience. My only disappointment was that there was no baccarat in any of the casinos in Laughlin.

Hi again Jen, Harrah's Laughlin also offers me free rooms, I have stayed there a couple times but I just don't feel the hominess I feel at the trop. I certainly have my favorite machines at the trop that I can often hit and pay for my play for the next 3 visits. I hope you enjoyed the (your words) low key environment of Laughlin. Please visit this quaint destination spot again.
Best vacant land investment in Original Bullhead is the block next to rapidly developing Community Park IMO. Lots of potential with these commercially zoned lots…Fast Food…Gas Station…ETC.
Thanks for another great video Jennifer! The volume is fine but you do sound a little under the weather. Have you tried pseudoephedrine? It always clears my head and ears in a matter of minutes. You don't need a prescription for it, however you can't buy it off the shelf, you have to get it directly from the pharmacy. I swear by it! Looking forward to more from Laughlin!
Thank you so much for hanging out with me and Kelli Jeff! Thank you for the recommendation I will have to try that next time I feel a sinus situation coming on. I feel much better being out of the Smokey casinos. 😂Think they really get to me after a while. 😮
Reno is fun and has many activities besides gaming and casinos. Love the car museum! Las Vegas has shows, but is largest magic is how small they can shrink your wallet, even before you pull it out! How is Laughlin, just moved to AZ, and would love to visit this outpost on the Colorado River? I'd love to know! Thank you!
Hoping to get to Reno soon! Never been there. LOL about the Las Vegas magic trick. So very true! We enjoyed Laughlin. Def nothing like Vegas. More chill for sure. It was chilly in December there
While Jennifer was in Paris, France I was at Harrah's Laughlin (sad trombone.) I had comps that I wanted to use and had thought of going to Caesars in New Orleans, so it turns out (sadly) that it was good that I went to Laughlin instead. Wanted to avoid the crowds in Las Vegas around New Year's Eve, but I didn't realize what Laughlin would be like. First time there (and last.) Apologies for the long comment but I wanted to give a review of staying there in case anyone with comps is thinking of going there. I had a room on the ground floor with a patio. All the patio rooms face the Colorado River but you can't see the river from the room. It was peaceful but they played 80s music 24/7 at the pool outside the room, even in the dead of winter. The only way to not hear the music is to close the sliding door and curtains. 80s music is played throughout the casino. The room was old but had a coffee maker, and the patio was nice with mature hedges and greenery. The hotel itself was clean because you could have housekeeping service everyday. The negative - huge - was that the water was turned off on the whole hotel and casino for about 4 hours one day. Then the next day there was only lukewarm water. The machines were very tight (but all of Nevada is tight.) If you were in a bonus round or looked like you were winning, the cocktail waitresses did come and offer you drinks, which I presumed were free, but I don't drink so I just had water and coffee. Overall, the experience was very disappointing and lackluster, but the staff and other people were very kind and very warm in a small town kind of way that it almost felt wholesome, which is not typical for a casino. Laughlin has a very old Nevada feel to it, very humble, out in the barren Mojave Desert. I walked on the "beach" of the Colorado River, which was empty. The water taxi was closed for 2 weeks and the river was shallow with some sand bars, so there were no boats or jet skiing. I was told the Hoover Dam controls the flow of water. I was there for 3 free days and nights on a weekend after Christmas 2024. It is so free that they didn't even ask for a credit card to check in. They also said I was entitled to $20 in free drinks eaxh day, but I don't drink. There were no food comps, even for Diamond Plus. I caught one beautiful glimpse of the Colorado River with the sun shining on it around noon and could see the water flowing and it was beautiful. I wish I had spent a few hours outside looking at it because it changes according to the weather, water flow, sun, etc., and was not consistent. It's not very wide and is quiet. The rest of Laughlin was almost like an old ghost town, almost. The Don Laughlin casino was very busy and has a nice movie theater (saw a good movie.) But it felt like an office building with old escalators, and probably most of the people gambling were from Arizona, judging by the license plates. The overall feeling of Laughlin was of being in a time warp, transported back to the 1970s. It was similar to driving to a lake out in the middle of nowhere with very little to do but read a book - that type of rest. (The casinos were all tight and boring.) I couldn't wait to leave. I drove there and back on I-15 and I-40 across the Mojave Desert. It is very cool to see Route 66 (my parents came to California on that famous road,) but even I-40 feels extremely remote. Gas stations and bathrooms are about 60 miles apart. Also took the "River Road Cutoff - Old Needles Highway" to get from I-40 to Laughlin. It's an old 2 lane road with no shoulder, similar to Route 66, with many big dips in the road like a roller coaster for 20 miles over the desert. Overall, I would not recommend Laughlin to anyone. It did clear my head to go there, that's for sure because it is so remote, but I would've been better off driving to a lake for the day closer to home or something like that. The drive out to the desert is risky, with no real services should something go wrong. A very humble, remote Mojave Desert. It's not a good place to visit from other parts of the country - you would be sorely disappointed - and I would not consider it an alternative to Las Vegas. Maybe Reno would be a better alternative (never been.)
This was a great review! Thank you for sharing! You were very brave doing that drive alone. I had a room booked last sept and chickened out lol sorry you didn’t enjoy your time there. Glad you got to experience it tho. It’s good to check off the bucket lists good or bad it’s still a memory! Thank you for sharing! I’m hoping to hit Reno and Tahoe too soon. Never been
We used to go to this place for a once a year family gathering. Saw Boz Scaggs and Ray Charles and show in Laughlin, but unlike Vegas they don't have showrooms, they just convert an area, Ray Charles was grandstands by the pool , Scaggs was in a parking lot .
I agree, the place is not good. I had a room with a patio on the ground floor so I could open the door and get fresh air. The hallways smelled like marijuana. The water was shut off in the whole resort for 4 hours one day, and was lukewarm the other days, in December 2024. Unless you live nearby, I would not bother venturing out there.
Free parking?!?! Amazing. Something you don't see much in Vegas. I can't decide if we would like Laughlin more because it is so laid back - or if I would miss the busy-ness of Las Vegas. I guess we should give it a try to find out. Thanks for the tour!
If you go to Laughli this time of the year, there’s really nothing to do other than gamble and explore. I don’t see that as a bad thing. Dining options are more limited but if you like American food and chains, you’re set. The river activities open up closer in the summer so it could be worth waiting until then to go. I also believe it gets just slightly hotter than it does in Vegas but once it’s over 110, does it matter?
Same exact situation for me too. I think it was closer to 25 years though. I went at the end of November during the week. It wasn’t busy or dead on the Monday and Tuesday I was there. Just right in between. I thought it was perfect personally. My wife and I were also the youngest tourists in the entire town.
