@@billcook4768 totally! The only reason I would ever get a question right is because on final jeopardy you get a few seconds to think. In my mind, I was like, the guy that wrote the one thing about the mountain king what what that called what was he called what was he called - Grieg! 😂 Totally last second and I probably wouldn't even have time to have written it down, my recall is so slow these days.
Have you ever wished you’d seen Ken Jennings win all those games on his historic run? I just discovered the Gameshow Network is airing reruns of his run weekdays st 2:00 pm. Today they showed his 12th win. It’s fun to see how he has changed, fun to get a question he misses, and fun to see Alex hosting. (They also show newer reruns at 9:00 pm.) I wish I’d known about this before today.
@@judithmoore7892 I remember when that was happening. I didn't catch all the shows, but the fact that he was just there as a fixture for like the whole season was super impressive and all our minds were blown.
@ I remember when Ken lost my Dad said he felt like he lost a member of the family. I missed a lot of Ken's game due to work. I’m looking forward to seeing them.
Spoiler Drew Goins will also compete at 2025 TOC as replacement player for Celebrity Jeopardy! Season 2 champion Lisa Ann Walter. It's not yet the end of the road for him. He is in the 6th & final QF match against 4 game champion Amar and 3 game champion Lucas.
Same! I was wanting to see the tournament on my vSeeBox, but there was a breaking news special that was going on at that time. So, I had to watch some MeTV Toons on Philo instead.
And thus another tournament come a pathetic, anticlimactic ending. Obviously, we're looking for a Scandinavian composer since trolls are creatures from Scandinavian folklore. Did the contestants just panic when they saw the word "composers"?
Monday's lineup for the 2025 Tournament of Champions is Rishabh Wuppalapati, Will Wallace, and Alison Betts. Here are their statistics Daily Doubles: Alison Betts: 11/18 in 6 games, 10 of which were right. Will Wallace: 7/15 in 5 games, 5 of which were right. Rishabh Wuppalapati: 3/12 in 4 games, 2 of which were right. Final Jeopardy: Alison Betts: 4/6 Will Wallace: 3/5 Rishabh Wuppalapati: 3/4, and he lost by $1 in his last game! Coryat scores: Allison Betts: $13,667 Will Wallace: $12,960 Rishabh Wuppalapati: $12,500 Alison answered 129 questions right in 6 games and 33 wrong. Will W. answered 85 questions right in 5 games and 11 wrong. Rishabh answered 70 questions right in 4 games and 13 wrong. Place your Betts on who will win!
I love it when I get it right and the contestants don't 😅 makes me feel like I'm smart for 2 seconds
same here
Watching these clips at home, I kick ass. I know if i were ever on the show my mind would go completely blank.
I didn't do it this time (I didn't even make a guess), but yeah, that's a great feeling.
Just thinking the same thing!!!!!!

I wasn’t around when Ken Jennings was the reigning champion

I’m ashamed I missed this. It was my introduction to classical music, played to my sixth grade class. What a world that opened up to me!
Anitra's Dance is one of my favorite classical compositions. I still regret not saving enough time to visit Trollhaugen when I was in Bergen.
Nailed it.
My roommate got this right. He was so excited.
Drew is so beautiful!
I did not know the composer's name, but I knew it must have been the composer of In the Hall of the Mountain King.
I didn't have a clue on this one. Congrats to Mehal on advancing to the Tournament of Champions!
I definitely knew the composer had composed Hall of the Mountain King, I just blanked on his name watching this. 😅
I knew it right away, but it took until the very end of the song to actually remember the guy's name
my thoughts : I know this. It was on the first Deutsche Grammaphone CD I owned. Sibelius? no, the other one. Grieg.
Why do I think it's Grieg?
Tough one.
I GOT ONE THAT NONE OF THE CHAMPIONS GOT! This has literally never happened to me haha
I also got Grieg - in fact, I'm singing his music (as well as Sibelius) right now!
YOU SPOIL, YOU ROT!!!
I got this one right.
Grieg for the win!
Got it right, almost went with the wrong answer but changed my mind.
Great job Mehal
He’s very smart and a good player.
YOU SPOIL, YOU ROT!!!
No need to snap just congraduating someone
Will had Final wrong yesterday and today. So did I...with the same guesses as Will both days. (Volga - Wagner)
Had no clue who it might be, but [censored] made a lot of sense - the key word being "troll."
That, um, hall of the mountain king guy, what's his name? 😁
That is right Edvard Grieg
@@TonyHammitt that was my thought process for like 30 seconds, except I couldn't think of any of the pertinent names, only hear the music 😂
I've been there!
Got it!
HOLY CROW I WAS RIGHT?!?
No idea who that is.
here thousands of reasons to celebrate $100,000
One of those questions even the audience can answer easily.
Greig seems like the obvious choice
My ancestors would have rolled over in their graves if I had gotten this wrong.

I actually got this one
Congratulations mehal on winning $100,000 on becoming a champion wildcard winner and advancing to the tournament of champions well done
YOU SPOIL, YOU ROT!!!
I just guessed Strauss
I'd ask you to be more specific, but you'd still be wrong.
@ Thanks, Einstein.
I was unable to see this due to a golf game.
My mother had to call me to see who won because of that golf tournament. She was ticked. It does seem like an odd time for golf.
Same! I was wanting to see the tournament on my vSeeBox, but there was a breaking news special that was going on at that time. So, I had to watch some MeTV Toons on Philo instead.

Oh Lord I got it right! Which is rare for me.

I got this Final Jeopardy! clue right!
Was this worth my bachelor's degree in classical music? It better be, because it hasn't been useful anywhere else!
Well I was a liberal arts major & I still listen to Green Day so you got me there
@jmason61 Was college the time of your life?
@anewt72690 haha nice reference! They have a cool song Sassafras Roots it's about wasting time doing nothing. Not a Jeopardy thing!
Norwegian immigrants founded my college, and I took a course on Ibsen when I was there, so getting this wrong was not an option!
⚠️Warning!!!
Who Is……..
Edvard Grieg!!!

I’m rooting for Alison Betts.
Hmmm. I don’t have clear memories of Will and Rishabh. I’ll have to wait until Monday to choose a favorite.
Will Wallace and Rishabh Wuppalapati were both on in October of last year. Will won 4 games and Rishabh won 3 games.
@@theweysermanisback5205. I went to the TOC tracker and looked at their pictures, but I’m still not totally remembering them.

Didn’t watch because Kim Jong Trumps inauguration blocked my TV station
Stop spamming your whiny TDS comments.
In Korean, the family name comes first, so Trump Jong Un would be more accurate.
Lucky you. Maybe if you re-watch the inaugural address, you'll learn a little respect.
You do realize you got the names swapped, don’t you?!

That David Muir question from yesterday was cringe!
Does anybody think that $40,000 for 2nd and 3rd place seems too specific?🤔
The jackpot is high.
I liked the tournament structure where they had guarantee minimums, not the new one where runner-ups get the same amount 😢
I call foul! "Trollhaugen" is the name, not "Troll Hill." I immediately ruled out non English composers.😢
