I just casual mine when im out hunting and exploring. I find enough materials to help with fuel and tier material. Im still pretty new to the game. Your videos help put mining in perspective.
I just started playing, I use the noob stuff, my biggest money maker is lysteria ingots. My biggest single hit was 14 peds worth of oil. I usually always mine around or on mountains. Currently mining has bank rolled the next step up on a scanner and extractor, a vtol, and a decent dagger so I can stop wasting my scrap on shooting. Pretty happy with mining so far.
I´m mostly using Terramaster 5 (L)´s. For a few ores (like Redulite) you want a average search depth of about 1000 m, so I tier Tm 5 to put on 3 depth enhancers (=1016 m). A Finder F-105 can find most enmatters and treasures, only a few that you may want more depth.
850 is usually my aim... 1050 up high and 650 down low covers most of the Big Ores and EM. You don't have to give me the location what's your prefer Planet.. i like Cyrene and --Monria :D Monria Born. Do you use Mining Log? I do.. I use 2-3 depth enhancers if i have no Amps crafted rest are Range Enhancers.
Another Cheap skill to buy is resource gathering .. Geology and Treasure Hunting is both in there also you get some Looter Professions inside it as well.
i mine when i am tired of hunting. but could only afford the 101 or 102...but dang thing eats uni ammo 10k per use. so i need to find places that pay more than .22 ped x 4 to 7 times.

I do want to invest in the finder-f106.. looking to buy one at the auction but they are only overpriced it seems :( lets hope for me that I can get one for TT+2k. Then I can start my mining adventures! Hunting is fun too ofcourse, but I like to have the full EU experience! Hunting. crafting, mining. Keep doing what you are doing man. I'm using a F-105 Tier 2 need to tier up. also a RE-105 Tier 1 Extractor. Search depth is 600/600 uses per min 8/8. I'm on Cali just trying to make my way along. thanks for all the great tips.
If people do want to tier up mining manually, the best bet is going to places with 100% lysterium only.. like ln and around the volcano on calypso, because the stone is worth so little that you excavate it more times and gain more EXP than you would finding other stuff..
but why should i even try to mine...nothing is worth to mine these days...i bought 2 years ago with all PEDS i had ....tons of ores and enmatters...and 2 years later...some are still worth the same...most lost 20% or even more...this game is in a downfall thanks to explosiv projectil BP

If you haven't read LeeLoo's mining guide DO IT NOW! FYI since making this vid all of my mining runs have been 90-115% TT return, 130% average MU :)
