North Carolina gets overlooked as one of the places that the blues sprang forth from. So many early blues players are from. NC.
RIP John, you were last of the Piedmont blues musicians
THAT is as real as it gets! Absolutely brilliant, and such a priceless piece of our american heritage.
DATS WHAT I'M TALKIN' BOUT !!!
I met John yesterday at the Eno festival in Durham NC. There is alot you can learn from people like this. And they wont be around forever either.
Found these videos yesterday can't enough ..love true blues music
One of the last of the greats, real-deal stuff here. John Dee Holeman is definitely under-appreciated. He should be a household name in blues. Thank you for this video.
This man is the real deal. It is a shame that he isn't more well known.
Well, if you get anywhere to learning to play this can you help me too!
I never get tired of watching and listening to this...I just wish I could get started (trying) to play it! LOL!
That has to be the finest guitar playing that I've heard in that style of playing, in my opinion. And, while I may never get to meet Mr. John Dee Holeman, I would have loved to hear him say how he came up with that style of playing, and that song.
John Dee Holeman is a Great finally discovered Blues master. He Reminds me of Mance Lipscomb!
I commented on this 10 years and it still remains my favourite piece of live music on TH-cam!
time flies fast, doesn't it.. it scares me.
A true legend
i was listemning when iwas young...i heard his songs 100 times!!!!Great!!!!
an unheralded great!
One of North Carolina's finest
On of the last living bluesman, I would love to see him perform
Great tune! I being a guitar player myself, I think it would be even better on an acoustical
guitar.
This is f#@#ing amazing!
Thanx 4 sharing man.
Mr. Holeman, thank you sir, for establishing that kind of standard. TAB please?
Nobel prize!
me too
I never get tired of watching this video!
Is he in standard tuning? Looks like it?
Yes standard tuning
