i lived on the top floor of one of those houses at the top of Woodland Rd 30 years ago, lovely to see that view again though much changed over the years of course
love the sloping houses and the power lines are good too. that drone footage - spectacular. how lucky are the people who live in that tower block. go olivia!
Spectacular stuff! Have you been to blythe hill fields before? There's a rather special view from there. Another hidden gem in south east London and a personal favourite of mine.
Glad you enjoyed it, when that now out of the way, made that promise to my kids, don’t have to do that intro ever again😂Think it’s the first London related video I included any drone stuff, and still not sure if it was even ok to fly there as maps said it was but it being considered urban area maybe it wasn’t 🤷🏼♂️
Fantastic Stuff As Always Michael.. I really should get up to Crystal Palace as i only work just down near Forest Hill. So not a million miles away from my working door step.. Great Street Vistas.. More to Add To The locations list.. Nice work..👌🏼🤗👍
Thanks, this is exactly the kind of videos I’d watch if I was planning a visit to a different capital hence making them available for others here in London where I live at least😀
Thanks Tom, yes for evening shots it’s even better IMO but I was there with my kids so by evening we had to head home, love the long exposure night time shots from there 👍🏻
Most of London and around is fine, maybe some very central and touristy places are worse but if you have decent special awareness then you’ll know when to shoot and when to put the camera back in the bag
This area has the best viewpoints. Probably biased because I’m from the area. For me Gipsy Hill has the best viewpoint overall. Also check out Roman Rise, Farquhar Road and Crystal Palace Park for views towards SE London and Kent! As for the former, it’s Dawson’s Heights / Canary Wharf and West London! What day did you film this?
Thanks a lot, got to check out some of the other road you mention next time 👍🏻I filmed this obviously when it was a fair bit warmer, mid September if I remember well
I remember walking down from Crystal Palace to central long ago (I tend to walk very long distance). After walking for at least few hrs, I came across a fantastic spot with the most beautiful central london view (at night).. Too bad I didn't know where I was, and couldn't find it again.. All I remember was I was on a downhill slope (at least few meters) single and the view was in front of me and there were some residential blocks on the left.
@@LondonViewpoints yes that’s true. But there’s like a straight empty path so even with leaves it’s still visible. I prefer it in summer as you can watch a better sunset and it looks more nature
Thanks Luke, just imagine that this is probably the closest you can actually fly near the city😂 and quite frankly it was fine on the maps but someone told me as it’s considered built up area I maybe shouldn’t have flown even in there🤷🏼♂️
@@johnwells2908 eh, no, that’s a bit too much😜I have however been spotted in the past by locals that seen me being a photogtapher and invited me inside as they said they have a better view so it does happen but I tent to not ask myself into anyone house first, if they offer it than it’s different
@@JJ-fs6vb I have a friend that lives in that tower but only on 10th floor and we did go check out the top and there’s no rooftop access for residents, no top floor lounge or even staircase windows, nothing other than penthouse flats
@@LondonViewpoints oh ok coz i seen a picture from that viewpoind so i wasnt sure but theres addington hills and theres a tower block up in new addington good views of london from there

You’re most welcome😀

I bet even 30 years ago that must’ve been a great view to have
This is such a brilliant video mate. It’s made me kinda tearful as I grew up here, so so many memories. I miss it so much. Less complicated times.
Thank you for the kind words, I love this area for the views, must’ve been interesting growing up here and seeing the skyline changing
love the sloping houses and the power lines are good too. that drone footage - spectacular. how lucky are the people who live in that tower block. go olivia!
Thanks a lot , yeah I love these kind of streets and can’t wait to get back in the drone game as I sold my mavic 2 pro
Spectacular stuff! Have you been to blythe hill fields before? There's a rather special view from there. Another hidden gem in south east London and a personal favourite of mine.
Thank you, yes I’ve been to Blythe Hill Fields, very nice view although I’ve not been there in a long time, need to revisit
Love the intro mate! 😂👌🏼 That drone break was EPIC. Some really awesome views I never knew about 🤩🤩

London Viewpoints haha I’m sure it’s fineeeee 😬👌🏼
Yes you are so right! The view from here is absolutely the best!! Norwood park and Crystal Palace park is where I woke my dogs.
Wish I lived a bit closer to visit the are more often, one of the finest skyline compositions in town I believe

Nice viewpoints. Definitely places worth visiting in London.

Awesome locations buddy, perfect day today to check some of these locations out 🙂
Thanks, it’s definitely looking like a good day for skyline photography for sure, might go out too this afternoon somewhere 👍🏻
Great video! Will have to head down south to there at some point soon to get some evening pictures 👍

Glad you found my video helpful, enjoy the views 👍🏻
Great video Michael 👌
Thanks a lot Heather ☺️
Excellent video and advice! That building at 7.00 yes love that one! Been once and got a great shot 😊
Thanks Adam, yes that building is a treat of a view 👍🏻Next time I have to try a top floor bus ride down Knights Hill
Just for reference, they are telegraph poles not electricity poles, not important I suppose but a detail worth knowing ?
Great video as always 👍🏻📸🙂
Thanks for the info, English being my second language I learn new words everyday 👍🏻Glad you enjoyed it
I'd love to do more photography,I've got a nice camera but I'm too scared to take it out for fear of being mugged.
Most of London and around is fine, maybe some very central and touristy places are worse but if you have decent special awareness then you’ll know when to shoot and when to put the camera back in the bag
Brilliant video. Do you know of any places where you can see the London skyline from Chiswick?
Thanks. Don’t know Chiswick that well, afaik it’s quite a flat area isn’t it? If you do know any, please share
@@LondonViewpoints Oky doky that's cool...if I find any I'll let you know then
Awesome 👌
Thanks Dom👍🏻

I mean I usually can try and take a challenge to guess a viewpoint but this… this is GOAT difficulty level 🤣 I don’t know , Canonbie Road maybe ?
Crystal palace to central?? That's a slap lol
Super !!!
Thanks a lot☺️
Stave Hill in Rotherithe has fantastic views
It does indeed, better is winter when there’s no leaves on trees as otherwise the city side gets heavily blocked
@@LondonViewpoints yes that’s true. But there’s like a straight empty path so even with leaves it’s still visible. I prefer it in summer as you can watch a better sunset and it looks more nature
Hi Michael, what lens did you use for your timelapse?
That’s was a vintage Nikon 180mm F2.8 Ai-S 👍🏻
yes amazing juxtaposition.
Go to Marrayat road in Wimbledon! Best view of London
Great drone shots!

Yes but it feels very European , and we like Europe here 😉

Yeah sure, most of London is👍🏻
