You’ve talked me into adding a stalogy to my line up! Thanks so much for sharing your thought process! I’m a talk through the process person too. Hope you have a Merry Christmas!
Hi Sam! I use a stalogy for my scripture writing and general health updates. I lost 77 lbs since the beginning of the year, and every few days, I just write a small update. I use fountain pens, and they work fine for me! Merry Christmas🎄
One, I think you've made the best choice that will work with your brain's needs right now, and that's what matters the most. Two, it's okay to keep changing your mind and trying other things until you find that best option. Three, don't feel pressured to stick with one thing all year bc of things like cost or the sake of consistency. Our brains' needs change over time, some faster than others. And if talking to yourself (and us) on camera is what helps you make those decisions, that's perfectly fine! I for one am definitely here for it! 😊 I would like to add, though, that if you still want the ability to tear out some sheets when you're on the go, I would keep the Pen and Gear notebook in your bag for that specific purpose. That way you've got the 🎶best of both worlds!🎶😂
I discovered Filifax refillable notebooks (NOT binders) and I love them. I keep a pocket one in my bag and an A5 one at my desk. I love them for my impermanent notetaking
Merry Christmas Sam.!! Enjoy The holiday with ur family.!! And maybe after the holiday, It will just come to you on which journal to use. I used to like journals w/ dot however now, I have to have the grid, so much easier on my eyes and I don’t stray downwards or upwards while I’m writing like I do with the dot pattern now.! I understand about the outside color of the Leuchtturn, it’s a beautiful color, too bad you didn’t ask Santa for a cover that color.!! Then ur decision would be easier.!! 💖😁 Blessings & Happy Holidays
Stalogy notebooks aee just a dream. My system always has one included. The B6 and A6 both have 5mm grid. The A5 is 4mm, which I struggle with. The 5mm grid spacing is perfect! This is my usual combo! Merry Christmas Sam 🎄🫶🫶
I know the struggle (different, but same) I have my central planner figured out -- my ride or die is my Hobo Cousin. I love that book. I am trying to figure out what works best for my work planner (I am a new SpEd teacher) and want something separate. I have a Hobo A6, but I don't know what I want to use. I am back and forth between that and the Stalogy B6 and adopt the Bullet Journal system. That way I can have a page-a-day and the "next blank page" I need. The decision struggle is very, very real...
I couldn’t get on with the LEUCHTTURM1 paper either. Last year I bought three of them at HomeGoods of all places because they were such a bargain price. Didn’t like the paper so I ended up gifting them to my granddaughters. Too bad about the paper, because they make them in a6 and pocket I think, and those would make the perfect EDC if not for the paper. Regarding the Stalogy, I love it. And I have it in all sizes. My only issue with it is the-softer covers. Had this issue with the Sterling ink planners/notebooks as well. I just need something a bit firmer to write on. So I usually put my Stalogy in a cover, too. I prefer a folio style cover, but if I lack one in any particular size, they work pretty good in strings as well. Especially the half year version. I have my 2025 main planner firmed up but I have a host of other planners/notebooks that I’ve yet to figure out what to do with in 2025. And I told myself I wasn’t going to go crazy in 2025 as in past years. And here I am with a weeks, an a6, an a5, a goal planner, a main planner, etc., etc. Ha ha. By the way, I still use the beautiful pocket size leather cover from Chic Sparrow that you collaborated on. OMG I love that thing. I use it with a sterling ink pocket notebook or a moleskine, though not a fan of moleskine paper. Sometimes I use a thicker pocket notebook in the cover and other times I just used two thin field notes, one on each side. I will never give it up and every time I use it I thank you for coming up with that design. The front pocket is amazing! Anyway, we are all on a journey and a fun one at that. I haven’t picked up any of the pen and gear spiral bound notebooks from Walmart, but I have occasionally picked up the pocket size hardbound pen and gear ones. I really like the paper! And they change the cover design periodically so I’m getting together quite a little collection. The pen and gear hardbound fit in the chic sparrow cover you designed quite well.
I like 1917 I’m doing daily scripture writing in an army green grid. I love a6 stalogy paper and grid too. Merry Christmas Sam.

I love the maroon but otherwise, the stalogy wins for me! Merry Christmas, Sam! Hope you and your fam have a very blessed holiday season ❤

Ok now I am rethinking my note book… 😂❤❤❤
I love the stalogy option! I feel like it’s much more stress free for you!
I love the Stalogy notebooks. I think you can be happy with that. And no judgement… I too am indecisive lol
B6 is a good size. My fav is a6 as an edc, but either way…I love stalogy notebooks!

THAT makes sooo much sense!! I have disliked the A5 stalogy and I could not figure out why and I think you just helped me outvote🙈🥹 THANK YOU

Apologies for all the typos… Voice texting while on the run 😂
