The first Pronounciation of "Das Ende aller Lügen" was actually pretty good. Translated it means "The End of All Lies".

This song is about liars, like dictators who convince their people they are doing the right thing, and then the band kills those liars by cutting their throat and eating their flesh. The intro said something about the people and soldiers not being machines or animals, but humans and people need to help eachother instead of making war. I don't know if I'm totally correct tho. Im Dutch so German isn't my mother language either but this is what I understood.

You should check out Finsterforst, I think I requested their song "Mach Dich Frei" last year. They are like a german version of Finntroll mixed with Moonsorrow and on their earlier stuff they sounded a lot like Ensiferum.
These guys are awesome, and so is that song!

A&P-REACTS I didn't want to tell you but they have the speech and song in English as well But it sounds so much better in German .... but on the album they have the whole album in German around 10 songs or so and then another 10 songs but the same 10 with English lyrics instead

It's been awhile since this, time for some more Varg?... Have you ever listened to the entire album?
The annoncer spoked about to help the poor, the weak and the oppressed people, first to think about others not only about you, that mother earth can feed everyone who lives on it, that you should not let your live be controlled by dictators, by your fear or by pessimistic events. Soldiers your are to worthy to be thrown away in wars, for the terrible ideas from bad politicians.
It's a really hearttouching speech which pushes a bunch of tears out of your eyes.
So, cool thing about Varg is that on the album they give English translations to their songs on the last half of the Album. Also the speech at the front is a German translation of a Charlie Chapman speech from the great dictator. Also Varg in German is pronounced "Farg" and Rammstein "Rah-mm-sht-eye-n" lol. The first 2 words were pronounced well. The letter 'ü' is pronounced almost like the 'u' in burocracy. The speech in the beginning is the german version of the speech of "The Great Dictator" by Charlie Chaplin.

I thought it was "Wolf" in German to? In Swedish it's "Varg" or "Ulv" :)
Oskar Strandman Well yes and no. Varg is as you said the Swe and Nor word for wolf. In German the name Warg is the name of the Wolfs from the North Mythology! So yess Varg means Wolf but not in German 😂
Actually the word "Varg" is a reference to the wolves in the lord of the rings movies and books. A lot of their songs are based on references from these movies.

German Dude here. The speech in the beginning is from Charlie Chaplin "The great dictator" I would really recommend you give it a listen it is one of the best speeches I've ever heard. The second part is about the band members standing up against "Führer" (= leader but the term is associated with Hitler) and "Lügner"(=Liar). However, the lyrics paint a rather violent picture of standing up, meaning he says that he is going to kill all the liars etc. it was rumored that the band supports right-wing ideology but this song is clearly speaking against such ideas.
Actually, the song clearly positions itself against any politically driven doctrine meant to keep the common people calm and/or uninformed. Which is why there's references to 9/11 and religion etc., too. Hence, the song can be, and should be, understood as a song against current ultra-liberal capitalist politics, too. And not to call the band names, but being seen in Absurd shirts etc. does not bode well with those in the know of NSBM imagery and its followers.
yea I know about those pictures however as I recall they are from quite a long ago, however, I don't follow them so I might be wrong. Also, I won't disagree with your interpretation of the song it seems quite valid but everyone is free to interpret the song however they want so this was just how I thought the song was meant to be interpretet.

If you guys are up for some more folk metal, I can suggest Myrkgrav. It is a mix between Norwegian traditional folk music and state of the art black metal. Sounds a lot different from the other folk metal out there. Also your German pronunciation isn't anywhere near the worst I have heard!
I stumbled upon Myrkgrav a couple of days ago, definitely a hidden gem!

I really recommend you to watch "The Great Dictator" from Charlie Chaplin.
The intro was an excerpt of the ending speech from the german dubbed version.
It is a REALLY powerful and prudent movie still today.

Equilibrium was singing in german in their previous albums, there's videos for Der ewige sieg or Blut im auge. I personnally prefer songs like Widars hallen or Die weide und der fluss, alterning folk melodies with heavy riffs then low growls.
Also you can check Finsterforst - Mach dich frei. It's more contemplative with folk influences too.

I would be highly interested in your opinion about "Frei.Wild" They're considered to be a controversial "german rock" band, but actually they're from Italy, South of Tirol. People say that they're nazis, which is totally not the case. They're criticising society and all the political correctness/social warriors. But not only, they also sing about friendship and positive things to encourage you, I can recommend "Das Land der Vollidioten" and "Irgendwer steht dir zur Seite"
