@caprice6 Right, yet remember Hercules was alot older than Iolaus in traditional myth, and all older mortals had young male companions. in that mythology. The gods and demi-gods of course had them too, and when Iolaus was granted his own god-hood as the Protectorate of Sailors (God of Favorable Wind on the Sea) he confessed to their unique friendship as being lovers - as all gods did. Ares mortal lovers were both male and female. One Greek translation calls Hercules "old from birth".
Great vid, great show. I hope they will still bring it out on DVD for region 2. BTW does anyone know how the series ends, 'cos they never aired season 6 over here. Does Hercules die. Does Iolus die?

In Greek Mythology Iolaus was Hercules' mortal nephew and his friend.
