Welcome to IsaanFlicks, my name is Bob, a retired Englishman living a simple life in Warin Chamrap, Ubon Ratchathani, Thailand in the region known as Isaan.
I shall be uploading a catalogue of varied videos on what we see while out and about giving you some glimpses, information and insights into life in Isaan.

Enjoy the culture handed to you by the British agreement many years ago. This is Laos music. Issan was Laos. Is culturally the same. One people. Only history cut them apart. You send the Issan children to service the gentry of Siam and elsewhere and the region reminds looked down upon by generations of Siamese.
Every student in Laos is taught Issan belongs to Laos. Only foolish love made the shift. Korat et al....anyways,. History changed it all. Be grateful for the people of the South, Issan and all the other parts of Thailand that make your country so great. They clean your mansions, service your cars, keep the markets running and never stop smiling. True salt of the Earth.
But never, confuse the roots and historical links.

The history on both sides of the Mekong River is complicated and complex and goes back much further and long before the British and French arrived in the area. Furthermore, living for 20 years in Thailand and Laos will not change the historical facts. Therefore, please take a breath, relax and enjoy the music.🙏🙏🙏

When I heard of that Isaan Music Beat, I remembered BNK48 for the song Dodidong & Mokkob, and that's why Namneung is the Center Girl of both songs which were inspired by Morlam beats!!! As one of her fans (or I mean Bear Husbands), I hope that Namneung can pursue her solo singing career like Yinglee Srijumpol for the song "Your heart for my number"!!!

Isaan music is certainly a unique and vibrant part of Thai culture and it is no surprise that it can create a fun and lively atmosphere in bars and other venues. It is well known one can take people out of Isaan but you will never take the Isaan out of them!!! 🙏🙏🙏

Laos music. Isaan music. This is the origins. Please all learn about history and how the whole region belonged to Laos before the British and French created modern Thailand.
If you know your stuff then it's sad how the people are the lowest paid, looked down as lower class by far too many. Not all, but I know as I lived in Thailand for many years. It's beautiful. Isaan is beautiful. Laos too.

However, history is not always nice but is always created and written by people who may have varying recollections or prejudice. With that said, history is very important, it needs to be researched and studied but facts cannot be changed. History is there as lessons to be learnt. 🙏

All of the food of Isaan is actually from Laos 🇱🇦. Siam just improvised . Unfortunate that Thailand does not teach history . Thai people are not an original people, but all mixed.

@IsaanFlicksThailand Thailand calls it "contributions" but technically, it was "acquisition." It's no secret that Thailand believes culturally that they are supreme in the region and look down on all others around them . Perspectives are not allowed in accurate history . Thais didn't even know where they came from until 1964.
