15:10 - "Russia's great patriotic war has begun" instant goosebumps and tears... I have no idea how many times I have watched this series..everytime I get tears at the suffering that the people have to go through during those times.. ♥️
Your real nature is just consciousness. There's an end to pain and suffering once the physical body dies. This consciousness is not affected by events or circumstances and it is the real you.
It’s very refreshing to see a documentary from the Soviet perspective. All the history in the west is very bias against the USSR. Everyone always talks about the nazis perspective and the other allies with narratives like “How the Nazis lost” or “How D Day was the most important” and “Hitlers plans of this and that.” It’s never about how the USSR had very strong soldiers, great counter attacks, brilliant defenses, excellent logistics. The USSR was outmatched at the start but adapted very quickly. They were blindsided by the most powerful military of that time and the Soviets absolutely pulled off a heroic victory. They literally fought off genocide! By any means necessary. That’s how it had to be. Imagine if the USSR was defeated. There would have been a genocide on the continental level. Unimaginable horror. But the USSR literally saved the world.. Thank you to all the brave Soviets who gave their lives for the good of humanity. True saviors.
refreshing lol. RT. and russian propaganda. The winning side always writes history. The soviet soldiers were not more herioc than the werhamats soldiers...They just had unlimited amount of soldiers and supplies from the United states... Had the US known or fore saw the cold war ... Why not let them fight to the deatha nd make peace. Defeat japan. Europue would of been more peaceful had UK made peace and made Germany give up France. Tham they could dfeploy 45 divisions... BETTER yet... do a iran-iraq war solution. GIve nazis weapons to fight ussr and arm stalin. THUS stalemate and both bleed eachother dry. The consequences of letting stalin have the east europue and east germany were a 60 year cold war where we win... ut vietnam... ussr in afganistan... than ouyr troops getting killed by soviet assistance ......
@Shadow Reptile What genocide? Genocide is targeted at a people. Death sentences and prison/labour sentences carried out by/sanctioned by the Soviet government was against former civil war enemies that had turned into guerilla fighters, raiders and saboteurs (for example they used to slaughter farm animals in the tens of thousands and burning crops and fields causing mass starvation). Rogue police/NKVD officers carried out most of the excecutions that Stalin and the Soviet government is blamed for. At that time, that activity was not sanctioned by the state and it was illegal, but the government structure was so corrupt and hard to control that it was hard for government high-ups to know about it or do anything to stop it.
It makes me happy that some people wish to look at history from multiple viewpoints and not only from the echochamber presented in your countrys schools
Thanks to Chinese army for standing like a solid concrete wall against Japanese army and standing without any thoughts about giving up from occupation of Manchuria in 1931 till full victory and liberation of China in 1949, for your country war gave the longest and one of the hardest part and Chinese people stood all this part strong💪🇨🇳
I finally found some ww2 documentaries that are not just verteran interviews and front line stories. its actual tactics and strategies, battle details and well clear mapping ! Good job!! Love from the USA
I was a bit disapointed with those small picture documentaries focusing on subjective narratives and soldgers made in america rather than commanders and maps.
Best documentary period bro. And I’m American my guy. I cried just now after episode 17. I’m a ww2 geek but this was beautiful. I love the sad music at the end of the episodes. Damn
I honestly can't count how many times I've watched this whole series. Probably 30+. So high quality. I hope someone who had a hand in the production sees this but thank you for making this. With love from your wartime allies GB
I remember watching these on History channel and could never get enough. Truly one of the best WWII documentary series out there and I'm really glad it's on TH-cam
Many thanks to General Kuznetsov and his men. They have demonstrated how to endure hardship and fight back and win. One of my favorite red army commanders.
This channel is fantastic! We used to have a history channel, but now they only show "reality TV". I love watching history docs like this. Please dub more series, especially the one about WWI. Thank You. :D
+Paulo Roberto Silva Pereira Reality TV pgrms are a lot cheaper to produce, people who own those channels do not think they need to invest some of their profits in decent prgms.
Great to see things from a different perspective in the US. It is never portrayed in school, the resilience, fortitude, and courage of Soviet and/or Russian people. What they did was truly amazing. My hats off to them.
34:41 "It would be no exaggeration to say that the war against Russia had been won in the first 14 days" Franz Halder Head of the German Army. The fact that Russia won WWII on behalf of the Whole world is one of the greatest and most melancholic achievements in modern times. Weep for their dead.
Russia certainly didn't win WWII on behalf of the whole world, although they basically ground the Germans to a standstill by using their vast country, cold weather and endless manpower. I'm no American lover, but if they hadn't helped open up the western front, and (more importantly) ended up destroying the Japanese army to the east, there would've been a huge second front for the Russians to fight. There were also dozens of other countries who contributed to defeating the Germans. To be perfectly frank, the fact that the Germans were able to fight so many great powers at once and have so much success for a period of years with a far, far smaller population and industrial base is astounding and somewhat mind-boggling.
@@gst013 Yeah right, but if USA did had USSR also fighting Germans, there would be no hope for sole USA to keep against combined power of Hitlers Europe and former USSR and Japan included. So the same is true other way around. As mentioned, contribution of USA was mostly in tying down Japan (btw a very small fish compared to Germany at that time), but much less in Europe. Actually D-Day was mostly helpful to Germans, who did not end up all under communists. Btw i say Japan was a small fish, because they knew they were not superior to USA from the beginning, so they needed to bet all on one devastating naval attack. E.g. 1 day was decisive. With Germany, it was not as possible. And It took years for war to turn decisive.
It was not Russia it was USSR. Just because Russia was the largest republic in the union does not mean they can claim the entire credit. It simply undermines millions of Ukrainians, Belorussians, Armenians, Georgians etc who gave their lives for the common victory
@@tigranharutyunyan8243 I agree. It was not only Russians. I think USA contribution in effect was similar to USSR, but USA did not had to commit as much as USSR because of geography, and other factors. So by gloriyfying USSR i dont mean to diminish their contribution. But if we talk about, who could do more in fight against evil in those years, i think USA still had some reserves. But who can blame them, if they wished good for their people. It was an european stupidity, that we allowed two world wars to occur, rendering former colonial powers such as England, France, Germany or Spain to become bossed by USA. In USA they considered Lincoln as Greatest president, even greater than Washington, because i think they knew he managed to unite in lasting manner. Which put them inevitably to path to world dominance. Even without ww1 and ww2 it would happen, just more slowly.
As a Military man, i must have adequate knowledge about the history, and this channel is doing fantastic. As i intended to give an exam in Defense Studies College in my country, i was looking for study material like this and this channel is successful to do so....Regards
I'm ex-military and studied (and still study) WW2. WW1 and WW2 could be considered Act 1 and Act 2 of the same conflict. Only major events like the Agricultural Revolution, the beginning of the Iron Age and the collapse of Rome affected history as much as WW2.
The epilogue in 43:00 is incredibly composed. I can't imagine what it must have felt like for Mikhail and Meliton to plug that flag over the capital of evil in 1945 amidst desperate fighting. Rest in Peace to all the Heroes of the Soviet Union.
So happy the English version is back. Best damn documentary chronicling the Nazi invasion of the Soviet union. The Russian people cared not about ideology. Only to defend themselves and their home land against malevolent barbaric invader. Without their struggle and sacrifice it would have not made possible the Allied invasion of Normandy. We owe as much a debt of gratitude to them as we do to our own veterans. May peace permanently reign through out the remainder of our civilization.
30-50% of the soviet army were part of the communist organizations. They defended the achievements of their revolution, not an abstract national Russia.

@TheBendablespoons From the fact that you obviously can't write a single sentence in English, I can infer that you've never met an American before. Do shut up about subjects you know nothing about.
8:30 Another fact that nobody knows: Stalin offered an alliance with France and the UK to defend Poland against Germany, but it was rejected. He then proposed sending one million of the best Red Army soldiers to defend Poland against Germany, but that was also rejected. After the 1938 Munich Agreement, Stalin offered to go to all-out war to defend Czechoslovakia and asked Poland to allow passage through their territory to reach Czechoslovakia, but this request was denied. All of this occurred before the Molotov-Ribbentrop non-aggression treaty!
Yet capitalist west claims that Stalin was allying with Hitler with the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact, western propaganda never ceases to amaze us foreigners but hey it's exactly how they won the war, even in this documentary they claim that the Soviet Union and the Nazis were allies in 1941
wow!wow! this doesnt even look like a documentary. Its full of real war tactics and strategies all illustrated on the screen. EXCELLENT!!! We need more of these.
its all russian propaganda tho...this was made by a russian media company...lots of it is exaggerated and a lot is left out yes a lot of it is true but so many little details where it is not...if you like ww2 comic book style with a lot hyperbolic flare and bling then this is the documentary for you and your kid on saturday cartoon day if you want real life real history you need the 70s documentaries that have people from all sides who lived during these times doing interviews and getting a comparison... the only truth we could extract that is with no doubt is from the eye witnesses from all sides...they dont know each other yet say the same things...thats how we know that that is truthful... this documentary has none of that...just a russian media company from 2010s telling you

A sober but objective and true narration of the brutal war that Nazis and fascists declared against the whole world between 1925 and 1945. In these marathon documentaries that extend to about 15 hours of retellings of the war, one can get a fair description of all the important elements that got both Nazis and fascists defeated. No special stories about the Jewish suffering that dominates other descriptions with the theme of World War II. No Jewish monopoly of suffering in these documentaries. Here the suffering of all the peoples due to the war is told and noticed. In addition, one gets a fairer account of the Red Army's heroic and resolute effort to defeat German Nazism and Japanese fascism.
I... don't think i ever read a more mixed and skewed version of these events in my life... murdering commies are heroic? You understand the war crimes committed by that horrible army and its leadership? They were straight up satanic. @@lotr3152 Well, obviously berocraucy existed in the USSR, just like in all other countries, but to say with full seriousness that Soviets lost spy report, report of one of the most effective agents and biggest informants, to say that it didn't reach Kremlin, especially in Stalin's times, is really silly or autors of the program deliberately made this 'mistake'. Can you prove that the USSR and the 3 Reich were allies? Cant wait to watch all these documentarys as a englishmen o have watched loads of documentarys from the british prespective but its very informative watching domumentary from a russian point of view
As an American this series completely changed my view of the war. The eastern front is glossed over in western history books. I am convinced the Red Army did not need us and had it not been for the Normandy landings they would smashed there way to the French Coast.
USA role was important, but to be exact. Main contribution of USA was, to not join Germans. And to pin down Japan. In Europe, you probably are right, that Normandy landing was helpful, but not decisive.
@@brucepedersen4032 thats cool you disagree. I still stand by what i said. Also I would point out those artic routes where not as big a supplier to the Red Army as very few units used western equipment. My point was not to diminish our contribution but rather elevate substantially the Russian sacrifices and accomploshments. Sadly in my schooling and research the eastern front is very much glossed over which is a tragedy considering what happened there. I am proud of what we did no doubt but also am in awe of what happened in the east. I had an epiphany after watching these and highly recommend them to any history buff.

Lol. Non-Agression pact is called in that English translation as "alliance" which is not called like that in original Russian text . Then call Poland ally of Nazi Germany. Poland signed non-aggression pact with Germany in 1934, 5 years earlier. Sort of non-Aggression pact was signed by Britain and France in 1938 in Munich, where USSR was not invited. British PM Chamberlain in London Airport waved paper with that agreement and shouted " I brought you peace".
@Karrole 88 that's because of cold war and anti-soviet propaganda. That's why they push ahead only that info. Idea is to accuse UsSR and to humiliate its victory
@@AlexanderTch I think there was more inaccuracies regarding Soviets. Such as: - Soviet leadership was incompetent (in reality, it was average). - Stalins purges army officers and by that weakened Soviet forces (if he did not do that, he would probably have many more officers joining Germans, so their competence would actually work against USSR). - Communism was reason why Russia was beaten so badly (in reality Stalin engaged in mass industrialization program, predicting a big war 10 years ahead, such industrialization would not be possible under normal regime). - Stalin was more or near as brutal as Hitler (in reality, death ratio of German POW vs Russian POW speaks volumes). - Americans said Germans were good soldiers, but needed to be led. (In reality, American soldiers encountered only 2nd class German units, moreover Germans did not had motivation to fight USA because of threat of communism). When USA actually met some 1st class units was with Japan, not Germany. But again, in naval/air warfare, you got only limited scale. Most Japan forces were dislocated in China. - USSR is blamed for not helping Polish uprising in Warsaw, while whole western front was delayed at least one year. If Western front was opened sooner, then maybe Poland would not fall under communism. So it is not as simple as to who betrayed who. - Poland is seen as victim of Ribbentrop Molotov. But Poland actually tried to attack USSR with Germans. They built most of their defences on east, while they were attacked from west.
@@Lubhomir Rudenko "Wings of Victory" "On the outskirts of Warsaw - Prague, our troops came across a powerful line of enemy defense with reinforced concrete structures. No matter how we hit them from the ground and from the air, we could not crush them. The 47th Army and the 1st Army of the Polish Army advanced here. The front commander went to the command post to see General Berling, commander of the 1st Army of the Polish Army. After listening to his report and assessing the situation, Konstantin Rokossovsky came to the conclusion that it was impossible to continue the offensive with the available means of fire support and destruction. There is no need to lose people in vain. It is necessary to bring up more powerful artillery, and strike harder from the air. The commander immediately set tasks for me and V. Kazakov. Vasily Kazakov and I and the army commanders set about developing a plan for destroying the fortifications on the way to Warsaw. At dinner hosted by General Burling, excitement reigned. But humorous conversations now and then gave way to serious ones. When it came to the fortifications of Prague, someone said to Berling: - But it was you who built such a powerful defense. Now you have to take it. This is fate! Burling frowned and replied thoughtfully: “You see, our rulers have always looked to the west, not to the east, and this is the result: our people have to pay for it in blood. ... Gradually, the situation in the air over the bridgeheads began to improve. Having received a proper rebuff, enemy aircraft sharply reduced their activity. Later, until the end of the operation, our pilots reliably covered the crossings. Sparingly spending [241] the small amount of fuel that was at our disposal, the aviators with powerful concentrated strikes ensured a successful offensive of the troops to the Narew River and the capture of Prague - a suburb of Warsaw. Starting from the second half of August, Polish pilots fought side by side with Soviet aviators. On August 14, the 1st Fighter Aviation Regiment arrived at our front. "Warsaw" and the 2nd night bomber "Krakow". Polish pilots made their first sorties together with their more experienced Soviet colleagues. Subsequently, they began to perform tasks on their own. I remember that from the very beginning Second Lieutenants V. Kalinovsky, Yu. Kozak, P. Hausovich proved themselves well in battles. True, at first they did not have enough combat experience, but they had more than enough courage and ardent desire to go into battle against the fascist invaders. In conclusion, we should dwell on one more event in which the actions of the pilots of the 16th Air Army played a certain role. I mean the Warsaw uprising organized by the reactionary émigré government of Mikolajczyk. In August, our air reconnaissance crews began to report more and more frequently that they were observing in Warsaw not only anti-aircraft artillery fire, but also field gun fire. It was becoming; it is more obvious that fighting is taking place in the city. It was not clear who and with whom was fighting there. We didn’t have the strength yet for an immediate attack on Warsaw. The troops needed rest and replenishment. And combat aviation, according to the terms of its basing in the Warsaw area, could not operate at all, with the exception of fighter regiments located at forward airfields and covering crossings. On September 13, representatives of the Warsaw insurgents arrived at the headquarters of the 1st Belorussian Front - two women - Elena Yavorskaya and Yanina Yantsezhak. From them we learned what a difficult situation the insurgent units and underground organizations of Polish patriots are in as a result of the political adventures of the London émigré government of Poland. “Everyone was sure,” Yavorskaya said, “that the actions of the Warsaw rebels would be supported by the Red Army and the Allies, and that our actions by the London government were coordinated with the Soviet command and the command of the Allies. However, after a few days of bloody battles on the streets of Warsaw, it became clear to us that we were alone. “The Polish patriots,” added Yantsezhak, “fought with all their inherent devotion to the Motherland and courage. But they turned out to be cruelly deceived by the adventurers from emigration. Rokossovsky spoke to them in Polish. They passed on a request that our troops help the Human Army with weapons, ammunition, medicines, and named the approximate area of deployment of this army. The commander reported everything to Moscow. The headquarters ordered to provide assistance to the rebels and organize the transfer of weapons and ammunition to them by our aircraft. In total, from September 1 to October 1, night-light pilots made 2,243 sorties to Warsaw {32}. They delivered 156 mortars, 505 anti-tank rifles, 3,288 machine guns and rifles, 41,780 grenades, a lot of ammunition and food, and even a 45 mm cannon to the rebels. Fighters, covering the areas occupied by Polish patriots, made 448 sorties {33}. It is interesting to note that almost at the same time as we did, US and British aircraft attempted to help the insurgents in Warsaw. The first three times the Allies dropped cargo at night from the Liberator planes, and the fourth time during the day from the flying fortresses. It is difficult for us to judge the results of the flights of British aviation operating at night. A clearer picture was of the use of American B-17 aircraft, from which cargo was dropped by parachute during the day. According to our observation posts, the Americans dropped about 1000 containers by parachute, of which only 21 hit the area occupied by the rebels. The rest (96 percent) went mainly to the Germans. Of course, such scanty assistance could not be compared with what our aviation did in order to ensure the fighting of Polish patriots. The course and outcome of the "Warsaw action" of Polish reactionaries is well known. Quoting some facts and figures, I would like to emphasize once again that the Soviet command, our soldiers, despite their adventurism, the apparent pointlessness from the military point of view of the uprising in Warsaw, made every effort [250] for effective support of the Polish people in their struggle against the fascist invaders."
@@Lubhomir Rokossovsky: “On August 2, our intelligence agencies received information that an uprising against the German fascist invaders had allegedly begun in Warsaw. This news greatly alarmed us. Front headquarters immediately began collecting information and clarifying the scale of the uprising and its nature. Everything happened so unexpectedly that we were lost in conjectures and at first thought: weren't the Germans spreading these rumors, and if so, for what purpose? After all, frankly, the most unfortunate time for the start of the uprising was exactly the time in which it began. It was as if the leaders of the uprising had deliberately chosen the time to be defeated. ... The depth of the Belarusian operation is unmatched. On the right wing of the 1st Belorussian Front, Soviet troops advanced more than 600 kilometers. It cost a lot of effort and blood. To capture Warsaw with its powerful fortifications and numerous enemy garrisons, it took time to replenish and train troops, pull up the rear. But in those days we would have gone to great lengths to support the rebels, to join our efforts with them. But those who pushed the Warsaw people to the uprising did not think about joining the approaching troops of the Soviet Union and the Polish army. They were afraid of this. They thought about something else - to seize power in the capital before the arrival of Soviet troops in Warsaw. So the gentlemen from London ordered. ... We have not yet had any connection with the rebels. Our intelligence agencies tried to contact them by any means, but nothing worked. From everything that I was able to learn from the Polish comrades and from the extensive materials that came to the front headquarters, it could be concluded that the leaders of the uprising tried to prevent any contacts between the insurgents and the Red Army. But as time went on, the people began to understand that they were being deceived. The situation in Warsaw became more and more difficult, and strife broke out among the rebels. And only then the leaders of the AK decided to turn to the Soviet command through London. ... The tragedy unfolding in Warsaw haunted. The realization that it was impossible to undertake a major operation in order to rescue the rebels was painful. During this period, Stalin talked to me on HF. I reported on the situation at the front and on everything connected with Warsaw. Stalin asked if the front troops were able to undertake an operation to liberate Warsaw. Having received a negative answer from me, he asked to provide the insurgents with possible assistance, to alleviate their situation. He approved my suggestions on how and how we will help. I have already mentioned that on September 13, the supply of weapons, ammunition, food and medicine to the rebels began. This was done by our Po-2 night bombers. They dropped cargo from low altitudes at points indicated by the rebels. From September 13 to October 1, 1944, the aviation of the front made 4821 sorties to help the insurgents, including 2535 sorties for the insurgent forces. Our planes, at the request of the insurgents, covered their areas from the air, bombed and stormed German troops in the city. The anti-aircraft artillery of the front began to cover the insurgent forces from enemy air raids, and ground artillery began to suppress enemy artillery and mortar batteries with fire that tried to fire on the insurgents. For communication and adjustment of fire, officers were dropped by parachute. We managed to get the German planes to stop showing themselves over the insurgents. Polish comrades who managed to get to us from Warsaw spoke with enthusiasm about the actions of our pilots and artillerymen. Various rebel organizations eagerly and happily received liaison officers and spotters. All Poles-patriots, however, warned them that the AKovtsy did not want to have anything to do with us, the AK leadership was behaving suspiciously, inciting hostile agitation against the Soviet Union, the Polish government organized in Lublin, against the 1st Polish Army. Expanding assistance to the insurgents, we decided to land a strong assault force on the opposite bank, in Warsaw, using floating means. The organization of the operation was taken over by the headquarters of the 1st Polish Army. The time and place of the landing, the plan of artillery and air support, mutual actions with the rebels - everything was agreed in advance with the leadership of the uprising. On September 16, the landing units of the Polish army moved through the Vistula. They landed on areas of the coast that were in the hands of the rebel detachments. All calculations were based on that. And suddenly it turned out that in these areas - the Nazis. The operation was difficult. The first drop of the assault force managed to catch on to the shore with difficulty. All new forces had to be brought into battle. The losses were growing. And the leaders of the rebels not only did not provide any assistance to the landing, but did not even try to contact them. In such conditions it was impossible to stay on the western bank of the Vistula. I decided to stop the operation. They helped the paratroopers return to our shore. By 23 September, these units of the three infantry regiments of the 1st Polish Army had joined their units. Deciding on a heroic landing, the Polish soldiers deliberately went to self-sacrifice, trying to help out their compatriots in trouble. But they were betrayed by those for whom the interests of those in power were more important than the interests of their homeland. Soon we learned that, by order of Bura-Komorovsky and the Inspector, AK units and detachments had been withdrawn from the coastal outskirts to the interior of the city by the beginning of the landing. Their place was taken by fascist German troops. At the same time, the units of the Army of the People who were located here suffered; AK did not warn them that they were leaving the coastal strip. From that moment on, the AK leadership began preparations for surrender, about which a fairly rich material has been preserved in the archives. Our offers of assistance to those wishing to evacuate from Warsaw to the eastern bank of the Vistula were not taken into account. After the surrender, only a few dozen rebels managed to get over to the eastern coast. That is how the Warsaw Uprising ended tragically. " P.S. "After listening to his report and assessing the situation, Konstantin Rokossovsky came to the conclusion" Those, Two Poles stopped their attack on Warsaw, not Stalin...

The Soviet Union did save the world from the worst of the Nazis and I am against Communism.
refreshing lol. RT. and russian propaganda.

As an American this series completely changed my view of the war. The eastern front is glossed over in western history books. I am convinced the Red Army did not need us and had it not been for the Normandy landings they would smashed there way to the French Coast.
You couldn't be more succinct!
I disagree. Supplies thru the arctic and iran by allies were crucial. The trucks russians drove were studabaker made in usa.
USA role was important, but to be exact. Main contribution of USA was, to not join Germans. And to pin down Japan. In Europe, you probably are right, that Normandy landing was helpful, but not decisive.
@@brucepedersen4032 thats cool you disagree. I still stand by what i said.
Such as:
- Soviet leadership was incompetent (in reality, it was average).

Rudenko "Wings of Victory"
"On the outskirts of Warsaw - Prague, our troops came across a powerful line of enemy defense with reinforced concrete structures.
When it came to the fortifications of Prague, someone said to Berling:
- But it was you who built such a powerful defense. Now you have to take it. This is fate!
Burling frowned and replied thoughtfully:
“You see, our rulers have always looked to the west, not to the east, and this is the result: our people have to pay for it in blood.
@@Lubhomir
Rokossovsky:
“On August 2, our intelligence agencies received information that an uprising against the German fascist invaders had allegedly begun in Warsaw.
P.S. "After listening to his report and assessing the situation, Konstantin Rokossovsky came to the conclusion"
Those, Two Poles stopped their attack on Warsaw, not Stalin...

Still the best eastern front documentary, even with the crappy CGI.
Favorite documentary back guys!
We need to make sure to protect all of this educational content about Russia..
Putin is already making sure to erase any Soviet history that questions the current capitalist system that Russia established, the oligarchy surely never wants any communist movements to succeed and the Soviet history being in threat of erasure surely is an example
I now feel oddly patriotic for a country I don't even live in
Germany or Russia?
@@brandonstanley9125 Russia of course
USSR
USSR does that to a person
Also, a country that no longer exists, at that 😆 (Soviet Union).
First time I’ve seen this and I am totally captivated. Thank you so much for posting this!

Excellent documentary series!! Great Graphics n' Details!! the Best about Soviet war n' not Only!! its among Top 3 Ever i think . .
Wow this is just incredible!! The true heroes of WW2 and savoirs were the Soviets. This is just such a hidden gem of a series; they would not let this air in the USA would they?
I knew a woman that was in Auschwitz when the Russians liberated it, and she said they were worse that the Germans.
@Andrew Carroll yes they are heroes, as if Europe themselves ever cared about them. Narrow minded idiot.
@Andrew Carroll Yeah and they were planning to occupy Europe themselves after conquering Berlin.
Still without lend lease they would've lost, the british and Americans did brought some aid to the soviets
@@marnickfox9891 lend lease was not needed. It was ancillary
2019 and I keep rewatching it
Regardless of how varied the reports were, they ALL said Stalin only had a few months-at best-to prepare, NOT the two years Stalin wanted.
15:10 *SONG* = "AUTUMN DREAM" (Waltz)
I think it's a different instrumentation used in this video, though. Which I'm trying to find. The versions of the piece I've found so far all have horns instead of the strings.
The background woodwinds are also much louder, but I mainly just want to hear strings, now that I'm used to it. :(
they already available the original sound tracks ..

@@chandima339 That link doesn't go to the version of the song used in this video. :(
As I mentioned, the original version uses horns. 🎺
The version in this video uses strings. 🎻
It's a totally different orchestra playing it...and the players are using a very different instrumentation...and I far prefer it, over what seems to be the original. (The original seems to be only wind instruments, period. No strings at all.)
I still haven't found the string version this video uses. 😔
Much easier to watch this with voice over in English. Either way, a great series.
This documentary is direct to the point I like WW2 documentary so much
43:05 General Kuznetsov 👏👏👏👏
Yes it back! Oh my goodness words can't express my joy!
This is the best Russian documentary ever. Very well done comrades.
