    She is really an interesting character like Cersei. Big difference is that Alicent is extremely loyal, chaste and often torn between duty and love. A very realistic portrayal of Medieval queen. House of the Dragon is all about the glory and magnificence of Targaryen dynasty but still Alicent's character shines as the beacon of the Hightower. 💚💚💚💚

      but they had the same fate, alicient loved her king husband, and gave him the kingdom he always wanted, took care of him in dying years, and gave him three heirs to the throne, but it still wasnt enough, and she lived in his dead wife shadow, and she should have been allowed a happy ending by the author, have her fall in love with cole, leave court alive, with her kids, and live their lives out in country side, and let her former best friend have the throne, with her groomer uncle, just leave alicient in peace

      But I fear there isn't all that much that Alicent does in the book, her sons take over after the war begins. I wish they hadn't reduced her to be nothing but a pawn to Otto and a gullible woman who acts on a misinterpretation. They set up the enmity between her and Rhaenyra fairly well, she as destined to be her antagonist, she should have schemed to put Aegon on the throne on her own accord.

      @-grustnayaclounessa2333 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@gustavoboostel lol, of course Rhaenyra's first children would have been half Targaryen anyway, the problem here is that they are bastards, born out of wedlock, which would have led to a dynastic crisis in any case. and therefore, with regard to the children of Rhaenyra and Harvin, Alicent is right, they have no right to the throne. on the other hand, the greens are wrong to usurp Rhaenyra's throne because she is the rightful heir.

    • @Mimikinn
      @Mimikinn 2 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      Rhaeneyra’s sons were claimed by her husband Laenor as his biological sons so legally they aren’t bastards. It also doesn’t matter who their father is in this scenario because it is Rhaeneyra’s blood connection to the throne that they need to inherit it, not the father’s.

    • @Mimikinn
      @Mimikinn 2 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      @@-grustnayaclounessa2333 But they aren’t bastards?? Laenor legally claimed them as his sons even knowing they aren’t biologically his. And why would they not have a right to the throne? It’s Rhaeneyra’s blood they need to inherit it, not their father’s. Honestly it’s just a really weak argument to use against Rhaeneyra’s side, especially as she has two more sons with Daemon who are pure Targaryen, and could therefore be chosen as heirs.

    • @-grustnayaclounessa2333
      @-grustnayaclounessa2333 2 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      @@Mimikinn 1. the fact that Laenor recognized them does not greatly affect the political situation, otherwise other houses would not have joined the greens. we are literally shown that everyone knows that in reality Jace, Luke and Joffrey are not the biological children of Laenor, but those who talk about it are waiting for the fate of Vaemond🥰 and if Laenor recognized them legally as his children, why does Rhaenyra worry about rumors, like it's just rumors girl, if you're innocent, there's no need to panic.
      2. I am sure that they are at least 50% Targaryen, but the whole point is that only legitimate children can claim the throne like Rhaenyra or Aegon II, but Jace, Luke and Joffrey were born out of wedlock. you know, it's like in Westeros treason on the part of the heiress, because it would be fine if they were bastards, but Rhaenyra wants to transfer the throne to Jace, which again leads to a political crisis in the country.
      3. I have no questions about the rights to the throne of Aegon III and Viserys, but Rhaenyra initially did not want to put children from Daemon on the throne, no, for some reason she chose Jace and in fact spoiled her reputation in Westeros. I think if Aegon III would have been named her heir immediately before the dance, there would have been much less problems 🤷🏽‍♀️
