I love Elin, but goddamn does that intro take forever. The entire opening portion of this game is insufferably long for a game you can playthrough in Permadeath mode. Good shit, Rat!
There are other starting options, you can also just leave and not do the quests. You probably can even avoid taking the land deed and leave so you don`t have to pay taxes. When creating a character there is a clear option to choose the starting scenario, why would you complain about the tutorial one having a tutorial?
i know that my question will desgust most of you all, but i have to ask if this game is totally playable by mouse 🙂 i ate play with the keyboard...my fault.
These type of game take time and patience to play. You will not start out with anything useful, if your not somewhat knowledgeable with survival crafting games then this will infact be pretty hard. No different then any other open world survival crafting game honestly. Need wood, chop tree, need stone find rock and punch it lol like this isn't hard at all.
Don't gotta be smart but you can't be stupid either. Common sense is an absolute must have. Games now adays need to stop hand holding players. Games are becoming to easy, hell some even just play themselves and that's boring. Games like these are great cause that make you actually interact with stuffs and read. Like there is nothing wrong with that. People want a game that take more than 2 hours to beat lol games like this can literally be played forever and never see credits screen.
You type fine enough English tho? If you can type this well and not be English speaking I'd say give it shit either way. If you get it on steam, you can access the settings.config file and manually change the language to which ever you prefer. Open steam click manage go to local files, find said settings.config file and edit the change save then reload.
My Steam hours beg to differ lmao For real though, I have started recording a series, but there's a lot to do and I want to understand what I'm doing before posting it.

I found the onboarding in this game insanely, insanely bad. The tutorials are really unclear IMO, and you have to do them in order to get starting gear. I would spend time trying to figure out how to use the fiddly mouse controls and ended up looping starvation deaths before I could get anything straight. I also really, really hate the idea of having to sit through digging/gathering animations in a turn-based game. THAT SAID, this looks like a good game. I will be checking back in on it from time to time to see its progress through EA. This is also by far the best video I have seen on the game thus far, and look forward to more.
I have to agree. I only vaguely dabbled in Elona+, but that game seemed to let you off the leash basically immediately. This game saddles you down with a plot of land and tells you to pay taxes. I just wanted to leave. 😆
Common sense goes a long way, games need to stop giving tutorials and holding hands. If you can't figure it out on your own, don't play. Games are not for the lazy nor people with the attention span of a goldfish.
I think my justification was solely based on the fact that it doesn't have permadeath as standard, but you're right it absolutely is a roguelike, it just doesn't use the Berlin definition (which I'm not a fan of anyway)

@@Rogue_Rat Well Said! Still much the same can be said for most roguelikes as they tend to have a learning curve.... So Fun!
tales of majeyal mentioned!
This game looks fucking amazing and I'm only 10 minutes in. If I wasn't already planning on playing YS I'd get this immediately.
It's really amazing! Lemme know what you think when you get it! What's YS?
rip to the cat
I have also been hooked on this game… I’d say an early tip that might be useful is to try fishing. Can use bones to make bait from caves. Get a Millor? Recipe from the starting lady and make it. Then when you catch some fish can use bark and fish to make kibble which from my experience doesn’t expire so it’s good for long travels. 😊
I haven't tried the fishing much yet, but I know I'm going to love it. I hope you can fish up random items! I haven't bothered with kibble because you get a cooler box as a quest reward early on :)
@@Rogue_Rat Believe it or not you can, I once fished up a "Small Medal"! Cool No? I've also fished up a lot of seafood... Good Stuff! Great Rogue Like this is indeed, I just played through "Elonaplus" was also very good. Bye for Now!
I um fished up an entire statue which weighed so much I couldn’t move lol
Looks pretty neat and kinda reminds me of Balrum.
Looks interesting, will check it out :D
Did you play Moonring? I looked but didn't find any gameplay
There's a gameplay somewhere.
Moonring is a really good game. It's free, so there's no reason not to try, and it has one of the best patch notes. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I haven't played it yet, but its been sitting in my Steam for ages now! Looks really good
How to zoom out/ display roofs? My buildings have none. Only when editing them via a sign
Hold middle mouse button
@Rogue_Rat found how about it on the official discord, thanks!
Are those mods, that show your gold in pouches, etc? Your interface is more complex than mine
No mods installed. You can enable that in the widget menu (ESC)
Can you do a lets play of this game? I would love to play it myself but it would just be impossible for me to learn all th3e mechanics with how busy I am. Its like an entire world in there.
Yes, coming very soon! (this week) Just waiting for my voice to return after being sick recently
Bruh, we can't even escape taxes in game
what a beautiful game
Coming offa ten year save file in elona+ found out about elin from a zomboid streamer. Suffice to say ive found the game ill play till i die
How did you make the bottom white bar small like that? Tried to mess around in the widget menu but i can't seem to make the bottom bar small
Nevermind, i figure it out
@@dimasdwiki6146 I havent been able to figure it out, think you can help me?
I will try and post screenshots of my setup
@@almuribg press esc, then choose widget menu, then you can mess around with your game UI, left click the widgets on the screen and there's many customization options you can choose.
They got the backpack and bags directly from Ultima Online :D
Really? I need to see this! I don’t know what the backpack looked like in Elona
Elin gameplay!! Rat gang let's goo!!! 🔥🔥🔥
Lets goooo
bro gonna make a guide for this ? i have it but i feel so lost trying to play it would LOVE a guide !
It can feel overwhelming because there's SO much stuff, but I'd say just focus on one thing for now - maybe building your base, and in the mean time keep exploring and go from there. I'm definitely going to do more videos when I get a chance, and I might try and do a guide once I'm much more familiar with it
Well i can relate, i am addicted to it f**k! i wake up and is becoming my breakfast and during work i play it. It's on Early Access and it feels like a full Game already, I am enjoying it forget about the graphics. if you wanna try it, Just try it but BEWARE...
Literally when I close my eyes I see putits
i reccomend you learn how to deal with different enemies. for example the hermit crabs can outlast early game characters with bulk but die easily to magic
This is the prequel to the first game, so you you don't need to bother with first game.
How do you interact with pets.
Middle click to talk or cuddle (or kick if you're a monster)
more of this plz
Man... Comeon... Where are the new videos!!!???
check the community tab
If this based on Elona there's should be someone in the world that holds Legendary weapon that you can kill easely (im just assuming)
how bad is the tax system(like is it super heavy or kinda light?)
I think it depends on how your town is doing etc. But i'm not finding it too bad, plus its only every 30 days. You can easily make 1-2k per run in the starting dungeon :)
@@Rogue_Rat ty ima buy the game since that is the case have a good one
@@moonblood9047 it's pretty doable, it just makes you feel compelled to work towards something. Complete noob as well btw, just started playing yesterday.
And I'm not doing any optimal or cheese stuff, just being dumb and learning as I go.
Also you don't have to pay immediately but do try to pay as fast as you can, because the games makes it very clear you will regret not paying your taxes.
I got delivered a turd in the mail in my first couple days in this game, nothing else in the package. Made me laugh.
Happened to me two days in a row!
Is this on consoles? PlayStation 4 to be more exact
I don't think so
woah woah woah rogue. this game is too in depth. can you start over and show us a new file please
Yeah I will do a little series soon I think!
Lets gooooo!!! New series when!! ❤❤
Yo brother please drop the Theme, aka ui! Im in love with the way you have it setup.
Thanks! If you have Discord you can see my set up here: cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1303866748084289536/1305870005535117394/image.png?ex=673499b7&is=67334837&hm=d3e91a2eefd1a6032e780858917bd82f042273a9fdf43c42e453bcfaa169aa77&
Middle click with mouse and kick and you can wake sleeping people up with no downside
Took me ages to realise this! You lose karma sometimes, but that's great for the thieves guild.
@Rogue_Rat it's 1 karma, I actually tried to do it for the thieves guild but lost patience. I just accepted escort missions and failed em.
I lost it at the STD mark.. hahhaah well designed game. they really considered alot of routes.
They put the clap in my jrpg!
You can hold ctrl and it's over in a blink...
Thanks mate! :) I don't remember there being much of an intro, I just got the land deed and then head out! Maybe there's a different start?
what if you don't pay tax ? tell em f off, or ignore them. is there a different way to play ?
I'm not sure!
He got the clap
It burns when I poop
i know that my question will desgust most of you all, but i have to ask if this game is totally playable by mouse 🙂
i ate play with the keyboard...my fault.
Yes it's absolutely playable with just mouse!
you're so cozy to listen to ( ˘͈ ᵕ ˘͈♡)
Thank you :)
btw
gallows op for my little pet girl
Yall do not get this game I havent left my room in 3 days
damn i love it
When it starts to get fun? I played 2 hours and its too clunky and hard
It might not be for you, I enjoyed it from the start. What sort of thing are you looking for?
The game might not be for you man. The game has been absolutely amazing for me from the beginning.
Great game, love the stolen art from UO :)
steam deck?
PC
I'm really sad its not at least co-op
It's EA, but I don't know if this will be implemented at any point. Still, I'm a singleplayer kinda guy
Game seems great but sadly not in my langage which afraid me a little since he looks deep asf
Honestly I'd still give it a try, as most of the dialogue is nonsense anyway
You type fine enough English tho? If you can type this well and not be English speaking I'd say give it shit either way. If you get it on steam, you can access the settings.config file and manually change the language to which ever you prefer. Open steam click manage go to local files, find said settings.config file and edit the change save then reload.
@@Rogue_Rat Hummm thanks to let me know that, i may be tempted now... lol
"I literally can't stop playing this."
-Next 4 uploads are nothing but Caves of Qud.
Ok bro.
Whatever you say.
My Steam hours beg to differ lmao
For real though, I have started recording a series, but there's a lot to do and I want to understand what I'm doing before posting it.
Uploading different videos does not equal to what the man plays on his personal time 🤦🏻♂️
@@jimmypadgett4288 I know that in your fantasy world you're his wife... But back here in reality, you have no idea what he plays. So the rest of us are just going to go with what the evidence says champ.
@The13thRonin the rest of us... so literally just you. like I said, his uploads are not evidence to what he plays on his personal time. It's not exactly difficult to grasp that he plays it a lot during his own time. mind blowing concept, I know. Wild to think that people on YT play different games than the ones they upload. 🤷♂️
@@jimmypadgett4288 Kid, go do your homework. You're embaressing yourself here.
You can customize animation speed in the options menu
Common sense goes a long way, games need to stop giving tutorials and holding hands. If you can't figure it out on your own, don't play. Games are not for the lazy nor people with the attention span of a goldfish.
@@giligamesh crazy opinion, tbh
Elona mobile is also good
It's a roguelike, not a roguelite. Not to be that guy, but there's a difference between the two sub genres.
I think my justification was solely based on the fact that it doesn't have permadeath as standard, but you're right it absolutely is a roguelike, it just doesn't use the Berlin definition (which I'm not a fan of anyway)
proper character creator and ill rebuy lol distracting making a dyde and stuck with the female avatar lol
You can select male or female body in the creator. It's literally the top option haha
@@Rogue_Rat haha i didnt even see it lol
i cant stop disliking all your videos !!
Thanks buddy x
RogueliKe, with the hard K homie :)
Yeah it technically is if you're playing hardcore mode! I'm just getting started in normal mode though, with no perma-death :)
