- This film, Singapore Stop Over, is colored a color film from the early to mid 1960’s. It was produced for Qantas Airlines and the Ministry of Culture which was a Malaysian government bureau under Ministry of Tourism and Culture Malaysia. The airport shown is Paya Lebar, which was Singapore's Commericial airport from 1955 until 1981. Prior to that airlines flew into and out of Kallang and from July 1st 1981 Changi. Paya Lebar then became a RSAF air base. I have flown on airliners into and out of all 3 airports during my life.

@@misterbig9025 My first ever flight in an airliner was in a Malayan Airways DC3 ( Dakota) from Kallang to Jesselton ( now Kota Kinabalu) in 1954. Then Jesselton to Kallang and Kallang to Ipoh in 1955, just before operations there finished and Paya Lebar opened, also in a Malayan Airways Dakota. I have also flown in Qantas Lockheed Constellations and Lockheed Super Constellations , B.O.A.C. Bristol Britannia's and Comet 4's, then when they arrived, Malayan Airways/ Malaysian Airways Fokker F27 Friendships, then Qantas Boeing 707's and Air New Zealand Douglas DC8's , all into and out of Paya Lebar. I have also been a ground engineer on both the last 2 types in my younger days. Then one day I found that I could earn more money working for an oil company, so departed the airlines. 😁
I have very fond memories of those times. 😍

Today the word gay is mutated.
During this era Chinese dialects are spoke namely Cantonese, Hokkien, Teochew, Hainanese and many others. With the four different schools namely English, Chinese(Mandarin), Malay and Tamil. Chinese educated being to start social troubles in Singapore...racial riots! That is the beginning to the birth of 'Cinapore' today!
