yeah, he could've stuck around in Barcelona a little longer. Italian footy is very physical and very demanding of the body, and so the physio had him buff up too fast for his metabolism to catch up. at least that's my theory.

Ronaldo was a true original just like Ronaldinho. They invented new techniques, skills and actually - PLAYED - football, improvising on the pitch. Many of the skills Ronaldo performed were firsts and have since become staples in the game which everybody now copies. As Zidane once said of Ronaldo - "every training session he would do something completely new.". He also did all this in a much rougher era of football where defenders could get away with a lot more dirty tactics. The likes of Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are robots compared to R9 and Ronaldinho. I'll always consider them the two greatest.

Something that only Pelé had achieved, unfortunately he suffered a serious injury with the tear of all the tendons in his knee. An injury so serious that doctors told him he couldn't walk without crutches. Ronaldo recovered and won another World Cup, being the tournament's top scorer and was again voted the best in the world. Due to the large amount of surgeries he underwent and medical treatments his career was shortened. He was strong and fast like Christiano Ronaldo and dribbled like Messi. Messi in several interviews considers Ronaldo his hero.

Greatest player ever. I am old enough to have seen Pele, Maradona and a myriad of other all-time greats. Save almost 4 years of injury in his prime, he came back from 3 catastrophic knee injuries, and was still the best player in the world, in spite of him being a shadow of what he was during his PSG and Inter Milan days.
