    Great testimony and thanks so much for sharing your story. Best of luck with the daughter.

    I am currently being assessed for mental health issues and have been struggling with gambling for 20 plus years.
    I have a loving wife and daughter but I still find myself gambling to the point where I have gotten us into financial problems recently, I believe it has come from being made redundant at the start of the pandemic and my mental health getting worse as a result.
    getting my mental health in order is something I'm very serious about as my mother and sister both have serious mental health issues that they both now manage, this is where I want to be in my life as right now I am scared I will lose my family and everything that keeps me going in life.
    thank you for your video and I hope you continue to get better and thrive as I do one day.

      Sorry to hear your struggling mate, I think your plan is a good one in terms of addressing your mental health as for me when you have an addiction, poor mental health leads us to go round and round in a vicious circle with addiction.
      Addressing mental health and hopefully getting that in order n feeling better will give you a better platform and foundation to build off as you attempt to either stop gambling or at lest bring it back under some form of control.
      Let me know how you get on.
      I wish you and your family all the best

      Ahh Tony I'm so sorry to hear that and I hope I haven't upset you too much in bringing it all back but I am doing this channel to spread awareness and help even just one person not go through what your friend and therefore his family and friends went through. Too many find themselves in deep trouble with this addiction and there just simply isn't enough awareness of the dangers.

    I admire your honesty
    I had a real problem with bookies roulette for about 5-7 years with differing points of severity, the mood swings I would go through while playing and after (depending on win/loss) were just insane, from pits of utter self misery and guilt to euphoria and self confidence, I would march round the bookies taking to myself and shouting in a rage and sometimes spitting and kicking the machines, it was madness..it ran and controlled my life from top to bottom, as time past I managed to come away from it without causing any permanent damage to myself or friends and family thankfully..I also suffered a panic attack and went to ER convinced I was having a heart attack like yourself, and like you it left me convinced I had a heart problem which effected me mentally for months

      2 and a half months and I'm seeing such a difference. I'm getting counselling off NHS GS, I've tried other things in past, normal counselling, GA, necca. This NHS GS is by far the most in depth help out there. I believe atm its exclusive to Northern England, I'm sure that will change. You get signed to a clinical psychologist (1 on 1 sessions 1st )and then have your group meetings there after. Have a look into this mate! So many people don't even know this exists through you're GP, and maybe someone reaching out to you, you can tell them about this amazing help. It's an amazing programme. You're helping people with you're honesty and that takes guts. Well done man! I will give you're new upload a watch later. All the best, and as you say day at a time 👍🙏

There are other channels out there doing great things to spread the awareness but i agree more people should do their bit including the industry in their marketing perhaps as daft as it may sound.

    When you get into the long run, gambling doesn’t exist. If you play at a 5% disadvantage, you will lose exactly 5% of your total bets. And it’s not just you, it’s everyone who plays. It makes no difference what betting strategy you use, the result will be the same. It’s an absolute mathematical certainty that all who play will lose at a rate of whatever the house advantage is. So if you ever think about playing again, you know ahead of time what the outcome will be.

    Nice one. Majority of gamblers use the blame game when really it's just us that's to blame, we just need time to see that and admit it.

    • @secondchanceaddiction7619
      @secondchanceaddiction7619  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think its common amongst people in general that when something goes wrong, we look to blame others and for me gambling addiction just magnifies that as we are so wrapped up in hurt, guilt, chaos and possible financial ruin, its just far easier to point fingers whilst we are not thinking clearly.

      We win some in gambling thats why we keep doing it. Without thinking the consequences, until we lose all our savings, having debt. No matter how big you win, it will never be enough, we always want more, the problems is ourself, we are the game, we have been played by gambling. Godbless. Stay out of gambling. 🙏

      So from 16 to 27th spent a lot off time hanging about the arcade and in the betting shops I was committed crime every day just abou.t in and out of jai.l drinking alcohol hanging around the streets all day trying to get money for a bet. Bye 27 I got to stay with my brother met a my girlfriend and had a wee boy was still gambling and drinking so that lasted about 3 years. Met another girl started working had another 2 children. Still gambling everything. Stopped drinking. Started a gardening business the money I was making went to the bookies as I was my own boss i would Finnish when I wanted to go to the bookies and loose my money every time. So this is still going on i hate it is could only make money in the summer time I would keep some for the winter time so at the beginning of each summer I have nothing and in det. I do look after my children. The way I see it I'm only hurting myself. I work hard and nothing to show for it. I hate the advertising. ..stop when the fun stops...there is no fun. I go to the bookies knowing that will loose .I hate beting hate it.i have no had a bet for 1 mouth maybe it's easier because I'm not working the now but I will try to stop it do hate it no fun it's wasted my life. But I'm going to try hard ass I can no to bet .God give me strength. Ì have started training at the gym to help me .it works the now. .I know I will have this addition for the rest of my life it will never go away. I just have to be strong. I'm going to try and brake the circle I'm in. .. I will write more soon

    I dont know how much she's i debt because of it but its ten of thousands of euro's

      @secondchanceaddiction7619  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Firstly i would like to say i am not expert or anything but i have obviously lived and battled gambling addiction but my advice to you would be to approach it in a way that is not preaching and not an give an ultimatum as hard as it may be. So i would ask her questions around her gambling that allows her to hear herself saying just how much she is gambling, just how much she is in debt and then maybe ask her what she would say to you if you gave those answers, key thing being again allowing her to realise what she is doing without you ramming it down her throat, its her own words, id approach it that way because you say she is in denial, this allows her to realise through her own answers.

    • @secondchanceaddiction7619
      @secondchanceaddiction7619  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, my advice would be Work on what is the main reasons for you to gamble, is it to win big because you are poor, is it to escape poor mental health, is it to pass time when you are bored, is it to chase losses etc.
      It may be a mixture of those and most likely will be.
      Whatever the reason you keep going back, work on yourself and the solutions to your problem but try and eliminate gambling as a solution.
      If you have someone close to take control of your finances for a while that is a massive tool to help stop.
      Fill your time with other things to do, find a new hobby or interest, it will help stave off the thoughts of wanting to gamble if you are occupied mentally.
      Find what the route reasons are and try break the cycle that keeps tempting you back in.
      You can do this, I did and I was absolutely horrendous.

    I watched your videos and understand but i cant change my mind. I lost more than 50k euro. It might not lot of for another people. But its so much moneyfor me. I dont have solutions for my debts. What should i do guys. Im atheist but I want to believe to God now. Cause i feel like empty i have nothing.

    • @secondchanceaddiction7619
      @secondchanceaddiction7619  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hiya. Sorry to hear about your struggles Artidom. With you saying euro's I assume your in Europe and so I do not know what debt help is available in your country but one thing I can say is let's put things in place to stop that debt getting worse through gambling.
      I promise you that gambling will not make this better and will not win back your losses. Maybe you would have a small win but you would gamble it back in order to win bigger and get your losses back but would ultimately lose it.
      Trust me I have tried it and failed and made things a lot worse.
      If you can, hand over your finances and access to money to someone who you trust for a period of time,
      ban yourself online and wherever you normally gamble,
      if you need money for day to day life have someone looking after your money only give you the correct amount of money you need that day,
      fill the time you would normally spend gambling, try new hobbies or interests and avoid having time to sit around too much as that's when the urges will become really strong.
      Approach a debt help in your country and be honest with them 100%
      If there is a gamblers anonymous meeting or equivelent I'd recommend going.
      Your welcome to dm me on twitter and I will give you link for our online gamblers anonymous meeting held on zoom once a week.( obviously we speak in English),
      I wish you the best of luck but please do not think that gambling can get you out of this, it cannot and will not.
