Revival's really not that bad. Remind Me and Heat were the only tracks that are truly indefensible. The way he actually raps on it elevates it above Relapse, or at least to the same level as Relapse. We need to quit with all this talk that it was a bad album. If Revival came out and we didn't know who Eminem was, everyone would be like "wow this dude can really spit".

I've been supporting Em since 1999, when I copped SSLP in February of that year. This album made me sad listening to it, I felt like it was the funeral for Em's career. Then I just heard the "Chloraseptic (REMIX)" with Em spitting that fire we love him for, but still hoping that Slim Shady is not just making a cameo, because I want him to be the co-star again.

True, reason people don;t like the album mainly is because Em was using those accents. Trust me, if he used his proper voice, album would be a classic to people. All Dr Dre produced, tracks like Insane, Stay Wide Awake, Music Box, Underground, one of Em's best albums lyrically. Album is still great to me, and going back to it, I really come to like the accents on most tracks, it fits the creepy Slim Shady vibe he was going for.
I totally agree. It's one of his most, actually probably his most immersive album. It's a lot like The Slim Shady LP in the way every song basically fits together into this overall theme. But as far as the accents, what people don't fucking realize I've noticed is that for A LOT of the verses certain words wouldn't rhyme without the accent. Did he overdo it? A bit. But all I know is those fucking verses are crazy flow wise. He's rhymed stronger and he's written better songs but THE FLOWS! And I for one don't care for the two non accent songs (Beautiful and Deja Vu) I've never liked Beautiful. But fucking Stay Wide Awake, 3 am, and then the bonus shit of Music Box and Buffalo Bill. Im an Em stan, but my god this album is undefendable. It is TRASH, period. Theres like 2 great songs, 2 good songs, 2 maybe 3 okay songs, and everything else on this behemoth of a project is complete doo doo. Encore was bad, but some bits of it were kind of salvageable cause it had amazing production value and pretty good beats. Revival sounds PUTRID. Dirty and grimy, but not in a cool MF Doom kinda way, more like unfinished and lazy, like a Macklemore demo that never got mastered. It's disgusting.
Well your both not fans. A true fan knows his classics. And this is one of them. So stop hating and recognize that this is one of the best albums in your genre.

Em needs to get back to basics with the production team he works with...this Alex da Kid/ Rick Rubin era is NOT working, on his best albums he’s only worked with like 5-6 different people production wise, on his past 3 albums he was working with like 15 people, that’s why it wasn’t cohesive sonically at least...but idk wtf Em was doing with his bars tho

I think having Mr Porter working behind him for alot of this album was a huge handicap for him as well. He needs songs more like Believe, which was his owm production. He sounds best on an Em or Dre beat.

Listen to those tracks again and you can clearly tell he was talking about where he was right before the overdose. He’s gonna put out more. He has to. Em wouldn’t let his career end on this. He takes backlash personally. I️ liked the album but I️ was very disappointed in what I️ got but for what it was I️ enjoyed it (not because I️ am a stan but because I️ couldn’t help but enjoy the music).
Tell ye, eminem's got to drop rick rubin and get into an album with DJ Premier. Do a project similar to PRhyme. Maybe get bad meets evil with Premier, call it PRhymE or some shit. That'll be the dream combo.

I've been supporting Em since 1999, when I copped SSLP in February of that year. This album made me sad listening to it, I felt like it was the funeral for Em's career. Then I just heard the "Chloraseptic (REMIX)" with Em spitting that fire we love him for, but still hoping that Slim Shady is not just making a cameo, because I want him to be the co-star again.
Ya'll missed the entire concept of the album... you're supposed to play it backwards from arose to walk on water. Gives the album entirely different meaning.

True, reason people don;t like the album mainly is because Em was using those accents. Trust me, if he used his proper voice, album would be a classic to people. All Dr Dre produced, tracks like Insane, Stay Wide Awake, Music Box, Underground, one of Em's best albums lyrically. Album is still great to me, and going back to it, I really come to like the accents on most tracks, it fits the creepy Slim Shady vibe he was going for.
I totally agree. It's one of his most, actually probably his most immersive album. It's a lot like The Slim Shady LP in the way every song basically fits together into this overall theme. But as far as the accents, what people don't fucking realize I've noticed is that for A LOT of the verses certain words wouldn't rhyme without the accent. Did he overdo it? A bit. But all I know is those fucking verses are crazy flow wise. He's rhymed stronger and he's written better songs but THE FLOWS! And I for one don't care for the two non accent songs (Beautiful and Deja Vu) I've never liked Beautiful. But fucking Stay Wide Awake, 3 am, and then the bonus shit of Music Box and Buffalo Bill. THE FLOW!

Im an Em stan, but my god this album is undefendable. It is TRASH, period. Theres like 2 great songs, 2 good songs, 2 maybe 3 okay songs, and everything else on this behemoth of a project is complete doo doo.
Encore was bad, but some bits of it were kind of salvageable cause it had amazing production value and pretty good beats. Revival sounds PUTRID. Dirty and grimy, but not in a cool MF Doom kinda way, more like unfinished and lazy, like a Macklemore demo that never got mastered. It's disgusting.
I'm a stan and Revival is horrendous. It's kind of sad how it pretty much destroyed his image. He need another quality album to save himself.
Well your both not fans. A true fan knows his classics. And this is one of them. So stop hating and recognize that this is one of the best albums in your genre.
