I have an old coer i7 machine as backup server and want to install some docker conatainers, well that's not working as planned. docker install is no big deal, but I can't manage containers, portainer installed fine, but I can't get agent to work, Agent installs fine but will not assign an IP and connect. The goal is to get glances to work with dashy dashboard again. LOL yeah I know, but for me its a fun challenge to get things working like this. I find for me since I have the spare PC I this right here would be a great option just in case I want to add some LXC containers for light duty. besides, I don't need the backup server to be on all the time, I don't make many changes to my VMs in the list.
Thanks for showing us how it's done, this is so helpful when trying to decide other options.

Great vid, thanks! Was curious what your opinion on installing PBS alongside an existing PVE server was? Someone on reddit mentioned they can be installed side-by-side vs. having one in a VM are there drawbacks other than the obvious?

i’m not big on installing the backups to be saved on the save server it backs up cause if it fails it’s all gone. i know a lot of people do it and i guess if you have a network share separate you save to it works
