From a kid using a watch to summoning bunch of spirits by medal with friendship, and now this new series making students to become kamen rider
As someone who had been with the Yo-Kai Watch series since the beginning, I remember loving the heck out of Y-Gakuen. I’m already a Superhero and Tokusatsu fan so this series scratched that itch for me. To this day I’m still sad the show ended after 2 seasons and that no one fully subbed the show, cause let’s be fair, the series is kind of dead in the water over here in the States so I doubt we’d ever get a dub. Still love it though! This show was so…different, yet familiar. I loved it, and goddamn the Hero designs WERE SO FREAKING GOOD.
Y gakuen is peak yo-kai watch. It's a really great change for the series and comes with the best ideas and characters the entire series had ever had. Although getting a new season seems kinda unlikely, I at least hope we get more events and variants in puni, that's the least we could get
@@redrey64 I can agree with ya there. It was a ton of fun to watch when subs were coming out, and like you said, it had some of the best characters and ideas in the series. I personally loved how the show reinterpreted aspects of characters and ideas from the original show and games to make something new. Like I said, different yet familiar. To this day I still really want the toy of the Watch from this show.

@@paoloresma4104 I agree, and, the most glaring example of this is Mist Shadow, and all of his forms, because, the design and color scheme are outright inspired by Kamen Rider Woz, from Kamen Rider Zi-O, the 20th Heisei Era Kamen Rider series.

If you couldn't tell, some of those are human versions of some yo-kai, the red headed guy, jinpei, is jibanyan and the blue one is komasan for example lmao

Man, watching this video makes me think back on Y Academy. I miss this show and it was so fun staying up late to try to catch these episodes as soon as they dropped lmao.
With YKW'S 10th anniversary coming up, with rumors of it being big and a new watch announcement, I have hopes for Y Academy's return. I also don't think they'd drop a new character (Kirameki) just to entirely drop the series. But these are just my hopes, and I'm happy to see the future of this series and whatever direction it'll take.

Unfortunately I don't think that'll ever happen, if we want to play it and understand it we'll have to rely on fan translations (if someone ever decides to do one)

They listed the trademark in America for the playstation 4 version of the game, cause in the ps store the game's name is listed in english as well as it's description. They may have more plans with it behind the scenes and I really wish it's the case

Yeah i know. If Fumi do with Komasan it'd be a princess theme hero, Touma doesn't need transform because he has his sword, Akinori with Genjus will be interesting, Shin will do with current Enma or Nekomata and Natsume will transform into a oni girl based hero to reference her past life

I heard rumors that the Gakuen Y game is getting an English Localization.
Those rumors were based on an english account of the game, whoever, that account was fake, there is still proof that it can be localized because they deposed the trademark but we're not entirely sure

I dont even know that this even existed. Last youkai watch related series that i watched was shadowside. I dont even fully watch the main series because its was not really fully sub. Maybe i will check this one out if its has the sub version of it.
This just makes me realize that if your name wasn't Jinpei or Ranto, you were dealt a smaller hand in this show. (In Chiaki and Especially Nozu's case) almost to the point you could call Uno.

@@redrey64 Nozu didn't even get a full transformation scene the entire show, that's honestly kinda sad and the fact is, he was really Number 2 to Chiaki. The only time he transformed was when Chiaki was down, or when they all transformed at once.
Then episode 23 where it was involuntary but even then he didn't get a whole scene.
We could clearly tell that this show has struggled to handle its characters, it feels like even if nozu is one of the supposedly "main characters", he was just left out like some others, they were reduced to fighting in the background and not even using their full powers, resulting in them being easily beaten leaving the room for Jinpei and Ranto to save the day. Let's not talk about kuuka tho, since the writers seem to obviously hate her lmao

But when it comes to regular yo-kai, ranto is venoct, mainly due to hair and personality
At some point in the game, all the characters were grouped to fight Mazera, and only those who are reincarnations started to have an aura around them. Mataro and Ranto didn't, which is a way more solid proof than hair and personality.

Yeah! There are some movies and shows you might wanna watch if you ever feel like catching up. One is the shadowside movie and anime, which take place 40 years after the original yo-kai watch games and follow Nate's kids. Another is a series set in a future where the yo-kai world was destroyed by aliens. In this series, some yo-kai are reincarnated as humans and must fight back against the same aliens by fusing with yo-kai (what this video's about lol)

where can i watch episodes from episode 19 with eng sub?
There's a group uploading the animax subs on their telegram, however they lost episodes 30-55 meaning the only way to watch them is either without subs or wait til animax reruns the show which can take a year or so. At least they're whiling to uploaded the rest which is 56-63.

It has fansubs that go up to episode 18 or 19, and then there are the official subs that only aired on a cable tv, some people tried to record the episodes but lost a huge amount of them, so yeah this show has been through some serious messed up stuff

He's kirameki sasuga. Apparently, he specializes in msp : monster summon power. We don't know much of him since he appeared during the last minutes of the show, but he can be heard transforming off-screen with an unknown watch during the credits. Also, he seems to be using cards instead of medals, so I imagine him doing something similar to the characters in Yu-Gi-Oh with the duel disk

- a character got introduced at the end of the series, hinting a s3 like why would a character be introduced at the end of an anime or series
- theres probably gonna be more updates to the ysp watch; 1.5, 1.6, 2.0, 2.1, and so-forth

Actually within Japan there are many transforming hero shows and this mostly takes inspiration from Ultra Man when it comes to direct references.
Also for the most part it still has a "monster of the week" kind of plot.

Basically, the og yo-kai world got destroyed by aliens, and some of the dead yo-kai got reincarnated into the future as human kids with special powers, and now they're using those powers to fuse with some "new yo-kai" and fight the aliens who have came back with the will of destroying earth once again

I mean it was gross at some points for sure, but it didn't influence the story nor the characters, just some random bad jokes put here and there, if you get to ignore them the show's really cool

Oh yeah the first 10ish episodes are really awful, it gets way more better by 20 episodes or so
