Totally done the wrong way. No need to remove brake caliper, hoses or anything else. Just take the 3 lower ball joint bolts out and swing the whole suspension away, pulling the axle out. I can do one in 10 min.
Great video! I had my tires rotated yesterday and the person that done the work said my cv axle was leaking, I had them replaced 2 yrs ago, what does the leaking mean? I have lifetime warranty with firestone on parts not on labor, so I'm wondering which route I ahould go, I have tools and don't mind getting my hands dirty, but I'm wondering the best route to go here
I had my cv axle replaced and then aligned on my 2016 toyota Camry Se. All was good but the caster was 2.0. The specs were 3.6-2.1. Is this okay? I don’t believe anything is bent.
I had help on the passenger side but doing driver side on my own. Vision is bad from a brain tumor but to set the axle inside the trans axle how do you know it’s actually seated? No more Olay?
Makes no mention of reinstalling the lower hall joint 2 bytes and 2 bolt upwards directly at the bottom, whicvshoukd have been after the strut bolts were installed
You don't have to remove the brake. Use the screwdriver to take the axle out. And use one plastic hammer to put the axel back. You have to do the alignment after you finish...... you welcome.

That's how one of my previous mechanics did it, and that's how I plan on doing it as well
Thanks for the tip. Much appreciated.
A man with a tool that beeps forr .....
Real
The axle on my '15 definitely didn't just "pop right out"
I miss working on cars! Its satisfying when you can fix it yourself! Tools required. Maybe should have gone back to it!
The torque wrench and 30mm socket are the KEY to a profanity-free procedure.
slide hammer attachment and cv joint puller adapter large from autozone got my stubborn one out
What does the dimple effect do for the cv joint nut? What do you use to create the dimple? Good video.
Good video. Now I know what to do when my car needs new CV axles (which will be soon).

+Art Soto The seal on the axle or the boot could be leaking.
@@TRQ thank you, what's the best way to diagnose and fix, is that something I can possibly do?
Removing more than what you need to
Thoughts on my ryobi cordless impact being strong enough to remove the knuckle

Just did this. With the stuck carrier bearing, I ordered a new housing then used a 4" cutoff wheel to split the old one and the axle came right out.

+Gugi Graubvogel Thanks for watching our video! 1aau.to/m/Shop-TRQ
Got it acomplished! Maybe he romoved excess to show how if needed in the future!
About how much fluid is lost on both sides ?
What's the name off the automatic tool
Shop wanted to charge 10 hours for both cv axles. After watching this video, that hardly seems appropriate.
The torque spec on the knuckle bolts is 155 ft*lbf, not 214. At 33% over torque, you stretch and fatigue the bolts.
New cars do the my its214 torque pound
Normally love these videos but this one was one of your worst
Thanks!
Hi guys lol. ❤❤❤❤
+John Snow Hello!
