For this specific app, (at lease in the US) its called mercedes me connect for 2019 models and newer. It allows you to remote start, lock and unlock, check telediagnostic info without being in your vehicle, locate your vehicle with walking directions and send address to your cars navigation system if you have the multimedia package. To remote start, you need to have all doors closed, all windows locked, and at least 5 gallons of gas or typically a quarter tank of gas. Open and closing windows you still have to do from inside the vehicle. Only cars that dont have remote are typically roadster vehicles like the SLC, etc.
You can preheat or pre-cool cabin of the car but with auxiliary heating/cooling system, not by remote start of the engine here in Europe
Mercedes me is a horrible app, always crashes, website down, I have used it on my 2018 gla only because there is no other choice. Benz should be ashamed of this app
Here in Australia we have limited features. Some will be activated once legal formalities are completed

Hey, thanks a lot and congrats! No problem... just remove plastic foil which will be on the displays you'll have less reflection. You can see some reflection but never to the point that it will be difficult to read. You can set brigtness from -5 to +5, I use +5 during sunny days! 😀

I have "Vehicle Setup" and "Vehicle Monitoring" each for £29 per year. Don't buy for more years because it's attached to the car and if your car for example got totaled or stolen then you don't get back additional years

I currently own a 2018 C300 4matic sedan... and this app is useless for me. Lol. I wish my car was compatible with this app!! A class has some amazing features for sure!
What about Mercedes Me Adapter App?
2019 and up is what is designed for.
Huh? Here in Europe you surely have access to Mercedes Me with a 2018 model.
Some people keep a spare key in the car in case they lose their key fob when away from home or whatever.
They can then unlock the car from phone (or computer) and use spare key to start car.
Never stuck after losing key!
If leave a key in the car the doors will not lock

Shame you cant start and warm up the car with the app as with other cars. Its good information but nothing more if I left a window open I would like to be able to close it with the app.
I got official e-mail that it isn't allowed for European market, only other markets, maybe european regulations? Where do you live? To warm up the car you can buy auxiliary heater, then you can warm up or cool down interior from the app
@@IvanSensei I live in the UK and i currently have a Range Rover Evoque and this app is very interactive i can start car and warm up, i can open and close windows, i can set climate control temperature so I am afraid whoever sent you the email was misleading you this interaction is indeed aloud in Europe.
Thanks for reply, they said it's not allowed in Europe atm (didn't say why). I wish they add more features to the car... you have auxiliary temperature then if you can set temperature in the cabin. That's also possible with Mercedes actually
I don't think that you are able to start the vehicle on the A-Class range. I'm able to do so on my C Class

This app work in the same way with a-class w176 in Poland. But you have to buy remote online when you spec the car.

new emission control laws, they need to test every engine type again before they may get delivered to the customer. Even if they would clearly fulfill those laws, they need to be tested again. German politics destroy its biggest own economy sector... sadly...

i did order the A180 in the beginning, but since i was told the A200 was available earlier than the 180, i switched. Well, wasn't earlier in the end.

Thanks for this Ivan, I bought car which been configurated by someone else, its premium plus package which means it has advanced sound system which is middle level with 290Watts and 9 speakres.. Of Course number 1 is Burmester but I was wondering how this advanced sound system works. I Like good music but unfortunately I can't change this even after :( I hope this advanced will be good enough ( it has 1 subofer too )

You need to get remote online (and maybe an other option too, not sure about that)
Firstly you need to pay for car info and car location separately
Can I start the car inside of the house to start heating
I can't do that. If you want to have warm cabin then you need to buy remote climate control and you can start that from the app (heat up during cold weather or cool down during hot weather)

My A class sedan Premium AMG line will arrive in 2 weeks. Vehicle Setup and Monitoring is on the spec list as 'preinstalled', I am assuming this means I do not have to pay for them?

It's A-Class. You have now A-Class but only in sedan version. Mine is a hatchback which is available in Canada not in the US

Congrats! I use wet wipes, or antistatic spray, or give the car to detailer to clean it. Not sure about service, here 6 years of service is included in the price of the vehicle.

Hi Ivan , can you tell me what Sound system you have ? and what do you think about this system ?
I have base sound system, if you then set bass, treble higher, play with settings it sounds much better. If you have premium package then you have MB premium audio system which is better it has subwoofer in the boot. I will have that in my next car

When you will collect your car they will pair your car with your phone's Mercedes Me app and then you can buy online those services! It's easy just tell them about it :)

my car will be ready end of July. Its Mercedes Klass A 250 sedan The package is Premium Plus and AMG line - i was very keen to have burmaster but price was good for this so I bought. now wondering opinion of advanced system - if is nice and good quality even if is not full Burmaster. What system you got exactly ? just basic or advanced ?
Should be almost as good as Burmester from what I heard. Don't worry!

how much is the cost of just Mercedes me like remote start or lock?
For me it was 35 EUR for 12 months. But every country could have it little bit different... in UK it is 29 GBP for 12 months. So monthly it's ~ €3 / £ 2.50

Hi Ivan another great information video for new AClass owners like me.. I've downloaded the Mercedes Me app onto my android phone but all I can see is milage on vehicle nothing else. It says on the portal I have to pay £29 for one years subscription. I Can't see anything like you've showing us in your video you seem to be the man to come to on the new AClass and Mercedes Me app

How is it done the communication from the mobile phone to the car? Obviously the phone has an Internet connection, but how does the car receives it? Does the car need to have (paid) Internet connection? I'm buying an E-Class Cabrio and I hope this app is compatible.
Car has build-in SIM card with 4G internet. When you pay for service, SIM card is activated. Ask your dealer if it's compatible. But it should be compatible if it's the newest model.

You can be on the other side of the world and it will work! If you have internet of course. Car has LTE sim card so it's connecting via internet and satellite

Hey, to me sound is excellent! But it depends on your previous car of course! I have base sound system but to me it sounds excellent! I think 8 speakers, sound is really surround!
Remote park don't work in Android 8.0, I pay for service, and only worked when I have old Android 7.0!
Keep it's services functional and compatible!

I collected my Mercedes GLA Urban Edition last week Tuesday and I also registered and signed up to Mercedes me for 3 years. I can’t seem to activate the location & Vehicle tracking? Do I have to pay an edition fee to get those services because I thought those were included in the package I ordered.
Yeah car info is one payment and location and tracking is separate payment!
My vehicle came with a free all access trial service for 6 months including SiriusXM radio from the dealership and then a fee thereafter

With this particular app it won't work, but maybe it'll work with "Mercedes me Adapter" - which is an adapter which your local dealer can plug into your car and then you can use "Mercedes me Adapter App"! Just ask your dealer about this adapter!

I have a 2016 C250d and a 2018 GLC43. Both have access to the Mercedes Me app as standard. Hope this helps!

This yes, if you have older car, MB dealer can instal Adapter to your car and then you can use Mercedes Me Adapter app which has a bit different layout but should have more less same features

Depends where you live. In USA you should have 3 years free/included. In Europe we need to pay.
Hello Ivan, is this standard on the new mercedes a class? Or is it an option?
The system inside in the car is standard (SIM card etc) but for free you have only few information, like when is servis etc. For car info in this video you need to pay for data transfer (for data of SIM card inside in the car) 30€ for a year which is not expensive for what you get!

Well made video. The info in the app however seems to be a bit of a novelty, a repeat of warnings that the car already displays and just something else waiting to be hacked !
The app is ment for monitoring the vehicle if you are away from it.
That's what I mean....when I'm sat on the sofa or in an airport i'm not going to think oooh I wonder what the condition of my brake pads is like :)
Yeah but you can check in the evening if your car is fine and how much gas do you have for morning drive :)
Its not as feature rich as teslas app which is even free

I got Merc Me for free, really can’t see the point in it tbh, unless I’m doing something wrong for the last 2 years?
Some people forgot to lock the car, then you get notification from the app and you can lock the car remotely. You can check trip stats from home as well. And other things if everything is fine with the car.

No, I don't think it's allowed in Europe by law... maybe other parts of the world would have that option
It doesn't allow this, however, I was in a Jaguar dealer the other day and their version allows you to start the car remotely. I don't rate the Mercedes Me much.
Bought my car on Feb 2nd 2019 (E450 Coupe) and the app hasn’t work once yet. Call customer service twice deleted and reinstalled app. If it’s this crap they should not have on the features of the car. -1 ⭐️
Just go to your local dealer they will set it up, it takes like 15 mins, easy process! And they after 5 mins of driving you'll see it working. Don't do it via call customer service, in person it's faster and they make sure it is working.

How do you change the units to Metric as it is on yours? I cannot find any options in settings to change this for the app. please help out. anyone who has experience with this issue?

@@IvanSensei Yes. the car is in Metric, also on the web portal of Mercedes me its in Metric. only app showing in Imperial :( I asked my local Merc dealer and they couldn't fix it either. Edit: I am using a Samsung phone, so android.
Must be some kind of glitch... I didn't find anywhere in the app switch metric/imperial... have you been switching it in the car recently?
@@IvanSensei OMG.. I figured it out. as I was writing to you, I asked my friend (who also has a Merc and uses Mercedes me in Metric). So... apparently the Mercedes Me app uses the phone settings for units settings in the app. My phone language was set to English (UK) and my friend's phone was set to (English, Other). Thats why I would see milage in Miles and not Km. doh..

Good idea/product when it works. Chronically unreliable...often crashes...takes forever to load.
On which car? On mine works always great! Only like 2 times it showed that app is under maintanence - for like 30 mins
