DID ANYONE ENJOY ME SAYING WHAT BOOSTER ENERGY BOOST IT WAS AND GOLDFISH MIND TAKES OVER AND I IMMEDIATELY ASK WHAT BOOST IT WAS CAUSE I "DIDN'T SEE IT"
It wouldn’t be you otherwise Joey. I’ve seen enough showdown lives to know you’re the type to tell people you are looking for your phone while having them on call.
Nah Joey this is straight fire. The production value of your channel has been going up & up with the growth & probably is the main reason you haven’t stopped ! Congratz on all the success man you earned it
Impressed by the teambuilding alone. That's why Joey's the goat. I knew as soon as I saw Lucha as the last pick, it was gonna have a fire set. CS Defog reminds me of old G7 Kartana sets, and the fact that you have two t spikers to make up for this is genius. Creative building Joey.
Did not realize how much I missed these, draft league is a ton of effort from everyone, especially the coordinators, but man it has to be one of the most interesting ways to play the game.
It seems comparatively low effort from coordinators actually. Very few things are highly time sensitive, so you can setup most things and then just cruise, so despite it being a longterm event you don't need to invest that much time. If the players are all being dickheads and bringing illegal Pokemon or wrong Terras or whatever it becomes a ton of work, but that shouldn't be the expectation. The biggest part of work is the overhead of getting people interested in the League, etc. but that isn't that different from any other tournament. Based on my personal experiences; I used to host (non-Pokemon) tournaments and signup phase was always a bigger hassle than the actual event where things somewhat "run themself" unless something goes wrong.
it feels like the closest thing to what real life battling would be. Pokemon would obviously be capable of running different moves because they're not braindead, and also, trainers would have more than six pokemon. In this way, people can make every match interesting, and player skill shines more and matchup matters less.
Really glad you're still doing the whole "get the opponent into a call afterwards" thing, thats my favorite thing about your drafts! Happy to see you're back at it after they FINALLY put us back in control of the timer :] btw l still remember the time you introduced it, it was in a draft-battle against Aron Cybertron mid-season, and you haxed him SO badly that you felt like you werent gonna be able to sleep at night if you didnt apologize to him asap LMAO, and people appreciated the post-game insights so you kinda kept doing it from that point onwards
35:35 it's interesting that even though you didn't use it, your opponents all season will have to think about your ditto in team build knowing that if they bring a setup Mon they could easily be giving you a reverse sweeper. Draft league is wild man
Ditto also has amazing synergy with his t-spike strat for that reason, he can even more comfortably pack things like protect knowing his opponents are much less likely to put set up on their mons for fear of a potential ditto
Bro I’m only 1:45 in the editing/production is wild. I’ve been watching Pokémon TH-camrs since Gen 4. I can’t remember when I started watching you but you just keep getting better. It’s awesome to see
The format and production on this series is already insane. Absolutely loved watching all the draft leagues from before. Me and my NY Dreepy plush are sitting here cheering you on!
Reminds me of how Farigiraf and Tauros both have Cud Chew, which I feel like could be an amazing ability, but nobody uses it because they both have much better abilities to use
I can safely that this is a format any new or seasoned Pokémon player can enjoy. It’s thorough, enjoyable and concise which a lot of times can get muddled in a Pokémon battle which Joey really went all out on. Definitely a solid pick and will like the video so I can go back to this more often.
Draft can be pretty hard for beginners to play. Tough to know what kind of techs to use if you're still learning the basics. There's 3 components to being a good draft player: drafting, prepping, and playing. Joey is probably a 7 at drafting, a 9 at prepping and a 10 at playing. You also need to be comfortable playing a wide variety of archetypes. One week you might bring semistall one week and hyper offense the next, with a lot of the same Pokemon
Man I missed this type of draft league content. I love the way you break down your team and how they answer your opponent's threats. Awesome vid and good battle, you've come such a long way bro. Been a fan since the PMP days and your commentary has only gotten better and your battle experience makes your decision making so sharp!
Yes, before I even watch the team builder, I'm just gonna say that I'm RIDICULOUSLY excited about your first pokemon draft league in 3 years. I'm also excited about the return of draft league (popularity) in general. BBR season 5 has got me HYPED
@annabenzerrouk5816 Oh I know people were playing, I've been playing this whole time too! As well as watching people like MattOShea who never stopped. But energy around seeing a bunch of old, big names players come back is exciting as hell to me!
The quality of this video is great, Joey! You've really been steppin' up the quality of your videos recently, but this looks incredible. Glad to have been here since the good old days and seeing this gradual improvement. Much love, man ❤
The team breakdown was my favorite part of the video. Always enjoy listening to your thought process in your team. Also the production was just amazing very enjoyable to watch and follow along. Great job Joey
SO glad to have some more draft league content from you! Loved it. I would also love a good overlay showing fainted mons, etc. but that's just icing on the already good production value cake.
Been watching since 2015, man. Always a go-to channel despite being a competitive TCG player. I love that every time you say a Pokémon's name, it switches to that mon's sprite lol. Dondozo being said in quick succession with that visual made me snort laugh lol.
Super hyped for this season and the return of draft! Also that intro was so well done and really helped to understand your team choices in a clear and concise way! Best of luck Joey!
I am SUPER hyped to see you participate in draft league, Aim! I *love* the format and am super thankful GF actually adjusted the timer, i didnt think we'd see the day ever again after the 3ds games
Pure domination. Amazing content! Love the wifi battles!! I personally learned a lot by watching you and even made a draft with my friends at work. Love the content!
Absolutely loving the content recently, love to see competitive pokemon content growing as a whole with the doctor himself at the center of it. Keep it up, also would love to see a bit of VGC content in SV some time.
You told me to comment if I'm hyped I'm hyped I loved your draft leagues so much 3 years ago and in sure these will be even better! Love the nicknames from elestrals too, adrive is such a good content creator. Almost as good as you!
I am so damn happy you are back! One of my all time favourites to see battle and what you bring in every aspect. Great builds, respect to talk with your opponent after, and shout out to aDrive. Love it all man! Welcome back and get them wins!!!
Amazing game Joey! Been watching you and Nexus for years and so glad you’re back. Love the amazing quality production of the analysis in the beginning and all throughout! Love the post game interview as always too. LA Wakers all the way 😤❤️
Wow Joey, that was a phenomenal performance. You really broke down the pre-fight so well, and from the moment you threw up T-spikes it seemed like it was all over. It felt like he lost at the draft level with such porous hazard control.
Watching this made me feel some type of way. Last time you played draft I was still in high school. When I first started watching you I was in middle school. Great to feel that way again
I have not yet watched the whole Video, but man I have to comment on how amazing your content has become recently. The illustrations are on point. Much love from Germany.
I started watching your content during the draft league back in 2020 and I'm sohappy its back. Its always fun to see the creative sets and teambuilding around specific mons. Also kinda funny Ddubble picked pelipper and Drednaw and you played them first.
I’m 2 minutes in. Holy shit, the editing is on point. Huge kudos for making the effort to explain the team-building in such an engaging way. Huge shout out to the editor too. Normally come to Showdown vids to fall asleep to - gonna have to save this one for later or else ima be up for another hour lmao
Love to see Espathra ! I don’t watch a lot of singles battles as much anymore but honestly I’m so happy that the timer is (somewhat) fixed!! GL on the Draft League!
team breakdown hands down the best and most interesting part of the vid because it displays why draft league is so cool people missin out on some competitive knowledge by skipping
Crazy that it’s been 3 years since the last draft league with the NY Dreepy’s, still remember it like it was yesterday. Hope to see you kill it in this one!
Love the draft league stuff! Nice win! Subbed to your opponent as well. He seems like a cool dude and I’m inspired to follow more draft leagues. Cheers
S tier production value and S tier plays. Your positioning and execution was spot on! Loved the scarf Hawlucha set as well. Exceptionally done fam. Looking forward to the next matches 🔥
Loved the video. One minor request for future videos: Can you make it clear at the start who the opponent's Tera Captain is and their potential typing? In this video it wasn't mentioned at all until 3:38 where you were discussing your Sylveon's set, unless I missed it.
I just realized the mesagoza battle arena has all the types in the circle, thats pretty cool also you indeed misread the roaring moon protosynthesis boost lmao, it was attack
"If you hear my dogs toy there's nothing I can do, they're having fun so I'm not gonna stop them" The sign of an absolute gigachad
Even more with the AI professor remix in the background
Joey is a gigachad, with that jawline and the infamous highschool nickname. It’s already set in stone
Can't ever even hear the dogs haha
@@SpookyRedBone what's the highschool nickname?
I am new here.

Yo, at first I thought it was a bit about the boost not showing up on the stat screen (WHICH IT ABSOLUTELY SHOULD) but no my man just forgot 😂😂
goobed
the agency alzheimer kicked in for a bit 😂

Great battle man, I hope we run this back in playoffs 🤝🏼 good luck with the rest of the season!
lumina crash + hex with t-spikes is SO heat

I found out about draft league years ago thanks to your videos and now it's all I play. Really excited you're back!
This game is a great demonstration of why having hazard control and a grounded poison is so important in draft.
Gawdamn that battle was clean. Very nice to see the draft content again, super hyped for the rest of the season

So happy you're back with draft, super solid build as well
So happy these are back!
Great battle and an excellent showcase why you need a grounded poison type or some form of hazard control
S tier production value and S tier plays. Your positioning and execution was spot on! Loved the scarf Hawlucha set as well. Exceptionally done fam. Looking forward to the next matches 🔥
Super hyped joey. Love draft. I'm rooting for you
Awesome match, great interview at the end. I can't wait for the next draft league match.

Love the editing at the start. So cool to see your vids level up like this
5-0 for your first battle! Nice playing, Joey; it shows you still got it🎉
Draft league HYPE! Very excited to watch this match!
The TSpikes prep this week was insane, great idea.
You're really brave for putting out your strats and moves for content, but always love watching you pick up W's as a bonus to your great content
It’s fine because the lineup and sets will change every week to be tailored to the opponent for that week
Sick first game man cant wait for the next one.
