    Always nice to have a look at production process. However, I thought more would be automated so a bit surprised of how much was done by people.

    • @ericheckenkamp6091
      @ericheckenkamp6091 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      There's a lot less automation than mainstream media would like you to know. The giant Corps that own media also enjoy producing goods in foreign countries with "automated" employees.
      An example would be our printing industry. Printing is not dead (everything in this video was printed before being sent to the factory) but printing in the USA involves paying living wages, so almost the entire industry has been moved to China.
      Newspapers used to make money printing commercial products, but no longer...theyve been "automated" with sweat shops and slave labor.

    • @Trevin_Taylor
      @Trevin_Taylor 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@ericheckenkamp6091 you think the US pays a living wage?

    • @RobMedellin
      @RobMedellin 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Word by word my thoughts. But then later realized it's not a company that big, if they produced 50x the units then for sure they would invest in more automation or move production to China.

    • @alexisbrin518
      @alexisbrin518 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's necause automation process can only be put in place when evrything is tje exact same everytime. If you change any size/ shape / weigh of any item durong the process, the machine will not get the job done as they can't adapt to the situation.

    • @RobMedellin
      @RobMedellin 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@alexisbrin518 but there are machines who can. I think those in the video that do perforations or cut adjust to different jobs, each cut are programmed on computer according to the need. So you just adjust once (or a few times if you didn't like the first job) and use the machine. Then are similar machines that glue different size of boxes, also ones that pack in an adjusted way. I haven't seen ones that place contents depending on programming but it could be done. Yes expensive.

    Fantastic Video, I wonder who prints the artwork, same factory? Or a different one as i didnt see a Printing press there? Also with the price of greyboard doubling in the last year it must be a tough time to make games. What a great company CGE are, fantastic games!

    • @ryanbarker5217
      @ryanbarker5217 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      i would say that's most likely a different company. it's possible, of course, but that's a separate business unto itself that would have to sustain itself with far more than this factory could provide work for them, if i'm being clear. it's not really a separate department kind of deal. again, it's possible, i just think it's that likely. the short time i spent in a printing factory, there was no manufacturing, and certainly my dad, who was a journeyman printer, probably couldn't tell you the first thing about how an injection mold press works.
      i would classify this place as light manufacturing and assembly.

    While it's nothing really baffling, bad or special, it's noteworthy nonetheless and one might wonder what it's doing there. It might raise an eyebrow or two, and some might even dislike it. In the end, this video is about making games and I don't think that poster is especially fitting for the entire target audience.
