I think this was just the impetus I needed to decide never to get serious about weighing stuff haha. It seems like a whole ‘nother rabbit hole in a hobby full of them haha. Very glad you did it so I don’t have to.

the total weight could be in the wires, the amount of grease you used in the axles and transmission, shock oil, different stuff like that

I see the difference. Really. It's right there in front of us all. Am I the only one? Am I hallucinating? I mean I see it. I think I see it. Do you? Am I blind? Do I have it wrong or backwards? I keep checking myself but I can't be the only one. There is that which is alike but dissimilar right. It's like that badge is on the same but not on the same.
I've got an unrelated gearing question about setting up my VRD carbon. I order the Rhino 1800kv but received a 2250kv. I wanted to run it on 4s. Would this still work if i geared it properly and do you have a recommendation for me? I would hate to return the motor and have to pay duties twice, so I think I'm keeping it.
Quick math: stock 15T pinion and 56T spur is a 3.2:1 ratio outside the box; 2250 divided into 1800 is 0.8, so the 2250 should have 20 percent more wheelspeed on the same gearing. I would go for a 13T pinion. Should take it to roughly the same speed as the 1800.
Now, you're on 4S, which is going to be 25% faster than 3S, so You might wanna pick up a 10T while you're at it if the wheelspeed is too gnarly.
In your opinion, do you think the Holmes brushed crawlmaster expert or that chinese 540+ (aka big block) motor has more torque and drag brake? All other variables the same
The Surpass Rocket 540+ (aka Big Block) is basically the Holmes Magnum (28mm armature, neodymium magnets.) So definitely more torque than the Expert.

I mean, could be. But I think the total weight of both rigs, and the difference between the two (about half a gram) is inside the margin of error for the scales. I don't think I can get any closer than this.
