No one wants rng, zero pros. Just work on people cheating. The player base wants control of the player, it’s literally all rng animations. We want control, not strung together animations that don’t let us move if an opposing player started an animation
You can literally trigger same animations over and over. Animations change based on your attributes vs the opponents attributes. Someone with 60 interior d won't get random rng animations against someone with 95 close shot, and then get random rng against someone with 50 interior d. It's all counter animations. The RNG happens with shooting only.

Gaming should be simple. You make a bad play, You get punished. You make a good play, You get rewarded. These different variables that have nothing to do with player input are horrible for competitive gaming.

Steals are random. You can hit X at the exact right moment and see your hand go through the ball. Next time it’s a perfect steal. Same with lane steals.
Didn't address the constant speeding up and slowing down of animations or the fact that rng comes in the form of animations. I don't mind rng on shooting, but if you're open you should have a consistent almost muscle memory shot. Instead they speed up or slow down the animations all crazy. Sick of it and they've definitely lost some money from me this season. Also locking cap breakers behind their shitty online only gameplay, not great.
EXACTLY!!!! Theres more RNG than just in shooting in this game!! Theres RNG in everything to try and keep matches close. I can predict almost every possession... You know once you make a few 3s in your opponents face they are going to get a crazy steal animation or your player is going to do something dumb to turn the ball over. All respect to tutes but theres more RNG than just shooting in this game.. and thats exactly why i went back to 2k24 edit: theres rng in shooting, rebounds, steals, speed, recovery, fouls, etc etc etc... theres times a 6'4 guard with 60 rebound will get a board over a footer just cause their team is down or the momentum of the game changed... its suchhhh a boring game

Making a game have RNG mechanics and lower the skill gap has literally nothing to do with matchmaking people together in a planned way to drive engagement. One is matchmaking one is gameplay. They might both have the same goal but they are not branches on the same tree at all.
RNG was a horrible idea, and it needs to be removed. You can shoot 4/4 from 3, but then you’ll miss your next 8 shots, but the opposing player will make 6 whites. Also when an opposing player starts an animation and you’re stuck in the animation that shouldn’t happen.
I just want to say that the “tempo” of rhythm shooting is actually false 99% of the time unless you are flicking upwards really slow otherwise the key of rhythm shooting is to start the upwards flick within the green window
I feel like they messed with RS …..I get very lates or early now….that would almost never happen…..just when I, myself, would messed up. Now when I am wide open and take my time I’ll get them
Honestly I have no problem with the shooting other than the fact that people who don’t use high risk can still make too many shots. If they’re going to implement RNG, It should be impossible to shoot over like 50% from the field unless you’re 100% responsible for the shot timing. That’s the same reason I’m a fan of rhythm shooting even though some hate on it. The more difficult timing the shot correctly it is, the more you should be rewarded if you master it.
Crossplay causes alot of the latency issues. I turned crossplay off this week and i had no issues at all. As soon as i turned it back on i started getting latency issues again. I have high speed internet, wired connection and use a monitor. My teammates do the same and they also had no latency issues when we turned crossplay off. I'm on the east coast they're on the west and with crossplay on the game can be unplayable for whoever is playing on the opposite coasts servers
Rng will always be bad in a game that is defined on how consistent you as a player is. It gets even worse bc this year as u said for "normal vs high risk" there's a chance for normal to go in when high has no chance unless perfectly released. If shooting was green only like last year the more competitive people would be happy but the casual side would hate it. I'd prefer green only personly bc I've always hated whites going in. It's a hard balancing issue
If 2k is doing all this to cater for people who have less skill and or bad connection, it feels very unfair for an maybe above average player with good connection.
I do think one thing missed in this video is why people even bother switching profiles. It’s not fully the only reason but I think a big chunk of it is the game and its responsiveness to shooting. And we’re not talking delay I’m talking about how in live play every shot you take ain’t the exact same which really throws off shooting in a weird way. I’ve had plenty games where I hold button and my animation wide open just starts up super late and throws off timing. I’ve also had many games where I shoot and the animation dramatically speeds up while wide open. And lastly I’ve had games where I shoot and my character shooting animation is just off whether it’s the the ball and my wrist glitching or my character kicking his foot out when it’s not on the jumped I selected which again happens when wide open. The RnG I hate in this game is the consistency of animations specifically when wide open. If you’re covered I understand that. But when you’re wide open you should be able to reliable shoot that as if you’re in my court because realistically that’s how it is in real life. That don’t mean you’ll make everything but surely we should be able to agree the animation and everything should stay the same to better help guarantee to punish the defense

The latency is actually there for a reason. For example when driving and you push your stick to the right, the game has to wait to go up for the layup/dunk to make sure you don't push the stick back to the left to do a euro.
@calvindelich9093 I’m on about latency issues such as pressing the pass icon and the icons popping up a good 2 seconds after moving your player and the player moves 2 seconds later, and it’s not my internet I’ll play different games no issue even games like battlefield where I’m playing with almost 100 players

This can pretty much answer the question. 2k / visual concepts use the Amazon Cloud infrastructure, Amazon has a West datacenter and an East datacenter, and that's the two locations that VC is using. The server problems seem to be some kind of cost savings of using cheap / small instances for servers, trying to keep the network bandwidth and number of updates as low as possible because amazon charges for all data transfer, and basically just trying to find cost effective ways to deliver online functionality.

Tutes, I’m telling you right now. There is something in the game online that prevents me from shooting over 50% on high risk, it doesn’t activate until you’re in an online game against people, I believe it’s been programmed like this to prevent people testing it out. I’ve mastered all of my animations and I’m telling you, I should be shooting over 50% by now. They are making me miss even when I’m greening, I’m so confident in this that when people make 2 threes in a row I leave them wide open on purpose and they WILL miss it. Every miss I shoot is “slightly late” but that’s a straight up lie. I average 50% from 3PT and 50% from mid range over 500 games bro, and I can show you the stats.

I shoot so well that it gets me into higher tiers even though I can’t play D, but I’ve been stuck at silver because I will straight up miss perfectly timed shots. I never adjust my timing💀.

@ i didn’t upgrade my defense, so I depend on straight offensive skill to win my games and I will miss perfect shots on 1v1’s. It’s so wildly unnecessary to make a perfect player miss when I took the time to practice. That’s WACK! RNG is WACK.
The best thing 2K could do to combat latency is to probably rework their servers, but that would require a lot of money and work. Not to mention that this is an annual release so they can't necessarily afford to do this unless they decide to take a year off imo Also, you can shoot even in latency. That's why you have to pay attention to your shot cue and not rely on muscle memory. Believe it or not, but you subconsciously start using muscle memory the more you play and that can throw you off. Remember to look at your screen 2K is also overreacting to cheaters. All they really need is a good report system within the game

That's why they need a good report system that doesn't just ban you for one or two reports. Then you'd be able to appeal the ban if you could prove you dont have a cheating device

Silver has nothing to do with it. I'm consistent Purple plate with 87/80 and instead of mixing my missed shots in each game, I'll have perfect shooting games followed by a game it won't let me hit anything at all, even bricking open dunks or hitting the bottom of the rim on open driving lays smfh (87 driving/82 standing/83 vert/90 lay)
I’d definitely say 85-90% of the players on this game are average. So many bad players it’s crazy. Didn’t start getting my city bar up until 1v1s came. Bad teams
What about why it's the 1st 2k that even in solo REC you see a lot of closed games ? RNG also wants you to have close games... this year it's rare that you see blowout games, everytime you have a lead of like +10pts, you'll see wide open miss and the other team will have good animations, whites going in, etc. I get it that it's to avoid rage quitting but it's kinda frustrating

Me and my squad call it comeback mode. It ALWAYS happens in the 3rd quarter. I promise you when you are down 10 maybe 15 your green window if you are on the losing side is HUGE and the opposing teams is small.

This year, RNG have been amplified to the point where player control feels secondary, making the experience heavily dependent on chance. I notice when people buy cards their teams play better. It should all be illegal children play these games thinking if they play better and get a better card they’ll win, not knowing the cpu is heavily determining the gameplay
I have 99 defensive rebound and 6’9”s with 80 offensive rebound are grabbing boards on me (7 foot with 83 vert) even rebounds are RNG. This game is trash.
I use high-risk and rhythm shooting for catch-and-shoot in the City or MyCourt, I’ve noticed the animations feel different. Sometimes they’re fast, other times slow, and it throws off my push timing or tempo. I’m not sure if it’s just a glitch that doesn’t affect the shot or if it’s some kind of input lag.
Except with high risk the make window is NOT 99% lol That’s the biggest issue; that even with the “no RnG high risk setting” after your first 2 green 3s; you’ll be flipping a coin even if you time your shot perfectly Everyone misses more shots WITH shooting takeover this year; after 2 greens RnG kicks in on high risk
In terms of fixing latency, they could take some tricks from fighting games and how they read the frames on the player’s screen and relay that to the server rather than use the server’s game state to determine the frame the player released their shot or executed their dribble move on.
It ruined 2k, I deleted it, first time in 4 years I’ve deleted 2k. 2k24 was so much fun, I have no idea how that was a bad game. I had almost 2000 hours played. If you greened a shot, it went in, if you greened your dunk, you dunked. If you defended your defender, he was defended. It just made sense. This game is broken. No wonder everyone left. Last year in Aussie servers there was 2000-3000 people online at any time, now there’s less than 200. It isn’t just me who dislikes rng, it’s everyone. The amount of money they lost is staggering. I usually make 10-20 builds and this year I’ve made 2. I refuse to give them my money this year.
I’ve been perfecting to green contested shots lately. I’ve been greening tights at a surprisingly decent rate even. I’m thinking that where high risk also takes effect. But you do have to release all (opens-tight) earlier than wide open shots. Only problem with this is shooting becomes muscle memory rather than shot cue
@3:00 to add to info to that. According to 2klabs and Some of 2kTutes test, even the best jumpers have a make percentage of around 75-80%. And thats seemingly the problem with RNG. Even though you timed it correctly it will only be a green for you 75-80% of the time with a top tier jump shot and shooting on high risk. So within that last 20-25% the game will make you miss.

Issue with game isn’t shot profiles, it’s gameplay movement animations. They introduced pro play without the ability to make those thousands of animations play out decently. Thats the core issue.
It’s not just the shooting though. The layups are horrendous when they were in the PERFECT spot last year. They actually made it so under the rim players could be just as effective. Makes 0 sense why they changed it. Plenty of other things like the dunk meter and rebounding as well. But the layups are just awful
RNG is crap, you make smart defensive moves and get punished for it, there should be zero reasons, me with High flying denier on Legend, block someone going to the rim and that same person i blocked recovers literally right after the block and get the ball back while i cant move and then they score cause im stunned from a successful DEFENSIVE PLAY!! And dont get me started with the shooting, cause low risk is the best option for shooting, i shoot on high risk(and i know my shot, im more than decent) but so many people make contested white shots its ridiculous, i feel like ppl make more white shots than ppl make green on high risk, its so dumb.
Legend rebound chaser, and while it's only happened twice in a few hundred games, I've actually tipped the ball in for a score for the op team while going for a defensive rebound.. both times it's happened had been in close games and me with takeover. Like, why tf is this even a thing in the game? Neither time was i getting contested for the rebound either, should've been open routine snag and break start
@ i have did the same thing 4 times already with a 70 rebound 3 in close pro am games and once in the park its so goofy and plenty of times my character has thrown the ball straight out of bounds not to a teammate or anything.
If I have a 99 open 3, 7 different legend badges, shooting boost, lethal hot zones, and good jumpshot timing, I wanna shoot 80% on my open shots. It’s a video game I’m looking to have fun, not play realistic basketball. I’m tired of missing wide open bc my player decided to sink a little bit deeper before shooting . I’m still shooting around ~60% (I’m not the best but I’m not trash at this game) I hate shooting well one game and saying to myself “well I guess I’m cooked next game”
2k tutes please hear me out there a way to time your jumpshot with your left trigger please test this it works for meter dunks as well, for example if u start a jumpshot or a meter dunk just keep holding it down but tap ur left trigger at the point u suppose to time it. so if u hold ur right stick down to shoot keep holding it down and basically tap or hold down ur left trigger at the point u suppose to let it go to green it. same with meter dunk we all know to flick up and hold down with right stick in 1 motion then let it go to time but if u just keep holding it down and time it with your left trigger it'll work I wanna if is better or easier or anything it would be great to know.
What about rng that’s unrelated to shooting? The game pre-determines the outcome of every animation and it doesn’t matter if you made the right play. It’s low skill based and unrewarding. How many times you perfect an on ball steal, only to get dragged into a 5 second scrambling animation and somehow the offense regains control and get a free basket cuz you’re now out of position? How many times have you attempted a well timed block, only for the ball to bounce directly back to an open guy on offensive? How many times you are wide open under the basket, instead of dunking you put up some weak layup on the other side of the rim that gets sent to 3rd row? Making the right play, and have rng decide the outcome and bail out bad players is unfun and anti-competitive. Game does not feel rewarding or enjoyable, simple as that
Did taking green machine out of the game affect the green window size?? I feel like if it was left in, after the fifth shot once you got green machine the green windows would have over lapped from shot 5 to 6 and from 6 to 7. Leaving a much better chance to continue to make shots. With that said I still hope Rhythm Shooting comes back in 26. It has really helped me understand shooting since you can't rely solely on timing. I shoot on high-risk only. If you're not shooting on high-risk you're putting yourself at a HUGE disadvantage. I think the only time rng should be in the game is when two players have stats that combat each other example 99 three vs 99 perimeter, also just remove the shot meter for shots not layups, i personally haven’t really seen cheating that i know of in pro am like i did last year, my personal opinion
That’s not the problem changing the green window so you will miss even though you time it the same is , so what about normal and low risk rng but high risk should always make if you time it correctly and not them changing the timing so you will miss
Is it possible to get a 100% make chance on a jumpshot with badges? Based on jumpshot charts ive seen and the boosts from set shot specialist and dimer, it should be possible, though most jumpers would only get a small window. That being said i dont even know if 2k lab uses normal or high risk in their testing.
As soon I hit 2 in a row, I know I gonna miss the next 2. Or I gonna brick the next game completly, if i shot well rest of the game. Its always same scheme. Took 2 weeks of and hit 8/9 from 3 in my first game . Ended up with 40 points Since then, I'm back to hof brick specialist

The shooting was great last 2k. Cheating is so rare. No lifed 2k24 and never came across a person I suspected of cheating. The whole zen thing is a massive overreaction on 2k's part. Changing the actual cue and timing of shots, and then adding onto it there's no 100% window is insane. And the good old people who go "get better" don't realise basically every single pro player hates it as well and struggles shooting wide open in games too. I'm not trying to say people with an 80 3ball should be greening 60 to 70% of their shots, but virtual no life pro players are barely shooting 50 with 99 3ball lmao. RNG has gotta go, let the handful of people who manage to cheat have it, even though timing changes with contests.

They obviously tryna make money not everyone tryna watch best jumpshot/ sigs / outfit/ drippy face scan vids to get better we know this. They need to have worse players beat better so that kids and casuals will stay on and like it. I mean they literally nerfed steal to dirt/ took away dunk meter/ and added slumps and risk rng. Then gave post scoring the most badges ever to help low skill.
Call it what you want. A wide open lay up or dunk is missed because of poor shot selection is complete bs. Street Ball gives you everything except REP! A mode I prefer. I am beyond sick of seeing poor shot selection pop up. Open or lightly contested shots. It pops up in every game I play. I’m losing games bc of missed open shots, not the opponent defense.
Something is going on with Rhythm Shooting this weekend, at least in Rec. I think the servers can't really handle the amount of players in there and causing a lot of latency issues. Been shooting a lot of very lates on the tempo and push timing. I haven't shot with Rhythm Shooting since early season 2. But right after the game I go to the outdoor parks and MyCourt and put some shots up with Rhythm Shooting and I'm just fine....... Shooting 43% in Rec 55% in park 83 three point rating🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
I'm not even tripping about the other shooting settings like low and normal but if there is an option in the game called high-risk that was sold to be the green or miss option then why is my green window not pure why is there still a chance for me to miss a shot I actual greened. There are legit scenarios where no matter how open u got or how good u actually timed the shot u won't make it u can leave the RNG setting in but don't take the actual skill settings out. My connection not bad and I'm not an average player but because those players exist I gotta be brought down to their level and be in hell games when in any other 2k they would be off the court is crazy

Dont mind rng, what i do hate is they keep patching bases!!! Dont care what any TH-camr says, yes 2k patch jumpshots!! I was shooting about 66% on 3s this season and after last patch i couldnt hit shit , just switched my base for any random base i found , Went playing rec without any single practice shot in my court and shot 7/9 on 3s this
Oh and if homies open and a white goes in, you should be better playing d instead of hoping the games dogshit moving green window makes them miss. There is no justification for speeding and slowing down OPEN shot animations just so they can fight zens.
RNG shouldn’t be in the game, point blank. Work on anti-cheat systems. It would crazy if we were playing CoD or Fortnite and bullets just so happen to stray far left or far right to balance KD Ratios. Or if we use a med kit but it didn’t heal 100% health to “balance out” the game.
Yo got a question, so I’m a 6’10 build that plays primarily 2s and 3s and wanted to ask about the giannis and Dwight animations, I have a 75 driving and 72 standing dunk, got elite rim pulls and get a lot of standing dunk animations and only dunk when wide open and on cuts, wanted to ask if there is any point worrying about using caps to get both of these dunk animations? As well is there any point getting the dunk animations when I just use safe dunks to not get blocked. Is there any point making another build if I can’t get these dunk animations
Don't forget, Xbox players who have elite controllers and can map the rhythm shooting stick to the buttons on the back so it's less difficult taking the mechanic to areas that the devs never intended. Rhythm shooting was a lazy way to deter 3rd party programs from helping your shot. Players do NOT want to learn a new shooting mechanic when they've been playing a certain way for a decade! Aim Shooting was the perfect example. Less than 2% of players I played against in 21' used it. The players have spoken. The only reason people use it this year is because you can green stupid low 3pt rating shots.
It can't just be me, it totally feels like the game nerfs and buffs us depending on what their algorithm wants to happen. With the main goal of keeping as many ppl playing as possible. I have 700 hours in this game with 5 different 99 builds that I've meticulously made. I will go on streaks, beating gold's and purples then afterwards it seems like they make my players turn to complete garbage. Dribbling out of bounds. Passing super delayed. Feel like I'm way slower. Not getting good rebound animations. Plus way more nerfs. This results in me going on huge losing streaks and often even to blacks, bronzes and silvers. I am honestly a really intelligent team first basketball player in real life and play the same in the game. I have been highly competitive in video games for 18 years (31 now). Even was top 10 in the world in Fight Night Champion. High ranked in Cod. High ranked in FIFA. Why are all my builds going from Gold all the way back down to bronze over and over? I swear this game is rigged. Like I'd put a lot of money on it if the actual truth was promised to be revealed. Sorry for my ramble, I just spent a fair bit of money and a lot of time into this game and feel like I'm getting ripped off beyond belief.

NBA 2K21's Shot Aiming was the best thing to ever happen to shooting in 2K, but Zens and skill gap complainers made the devs take it out. There are going to be cheaters with Zens every single year regardless of what they put out. Overall, Shot Aiming was they best solution for shooting in 2K in my opinion.
2k tried fixing all the issues the lazy way and this is what we get. they coudlve worked on anti cheat or better servers to combat the delay. but no. they add rng for people to play one hour a day to compete w people who play 5 a day. if you dont put in time and effort you shouldnt be rewarded and that goes for every single thing in life.

I'm honestly over the RNG talk. Honestly I'm at the point where I can tell when I'm going to miss a shot as soon as I let it go. I dont feel RNG is in shooting. People just making excuses on why they can't shoot consistent. I have a 80 3 ball and shoot 65% from 3 and shoot hash in rec with the sqaud so no I dont sit corner and i shoot on high risk
No one wants rng, zero pros. Just work on people cheating. The player base wants control of the player, it’s literally all rng animations. We want control, not strung together animations that don’t let us move if an opposing player started an animation
You can literally trigger same animations over and over. Animations change based on your attributes vs the opponents attributes. Someone with 60 interior d won't get random rng animations against someone with 95 close shot, and then get random rng against someone with 50 interior d. It's all counter animations. The RNG happens with shooting only.

Didn't address the constant speeding up and slowing down of animations or the fact that rng comes in the form of animations. I don't mind rng on shooting, but if you're open you should have a consistent almost muscle memory shot. Instead they speed up or slow down the animations all crazy. Sick of it and they've definitely lost some money from me this season. Also locking cap breakers behind their shitty online only gameplay, not great.

You know once you make a few 3s in your opponents face they are going to get a crazy steal animation or your player is going to do something dumb to turn the ball over. RNG was a horrible idea, and it needs to be removed. You can shoot 4/4 from 3, but then you’ll miss your next 8 shots, but the opposing player will make 6 whites. Also when an opposing player starts an animation and you’re stuck in the animation that shouldn’t happen.

Honestly I have no problem with the shooting other than the fact that people who don’t use high risk can still make too many shots. If they’re going to implement RNG, It should be impossible to shoot over like 50% from the field unless you’re 100% responsible for the shot timing. That’s the same reason I’m a fan of rhythm shooting even though some hate on it. The more difficult timing the shot correctly it is, the more you should be rewarded if you master it.
Crossplay causes alot of the latency issues. I turned crossplay off this week and i had no issues at all. As soon as i turned it back on i started getting latency issues again. I have high speed internet, wired connection and use a monitor. My teammates do the same and they also had no latency issues when we turned crossplay off. I'm on the east coast they're on the west and with crossplay on the game can be unplayable for whoever is playing on the opposite coasts servers

Rng will always be bad in a game that is defined on how consistent you as a player is. It gets even worse bc this year as u said for "normal vs high risk" there's a chance for normal to go in when high has no chance unless perfectly released. If shooting was green only like last year the more competitive people would be happy but the casual side would hate it. I'd prefer green only personly bc I've always hated whites going in. It's a hard balancing issue
If 2k is doing all this to cater for people who have less skill and or bad connection, it feels very unfair for an maybe above average player with good connection.

I do think one thing missed in this video is why people even bother switching profiles. It’s not fully the only reason but I think a big chunk of it is the game and its responsiveness to shooting. And we’re not talking delay I’m talking about how in live play every shot you take ain’t the exact same which really throws off shooting in a weird way.
I’ve had plenty games where I hold button and my animation wide open just starts up super late and throws off timing. I’ve also had many games where I shoot and the animation dramatically speeds up while wide open. And lastly I’ve had games where I shoot and my character shooting animation is just off whether it’s the the ball and my wrist glitching or my character kicking his foot out when it’s not on the jumped I selected which again happens when wide open. The RnG I hate in this game is the consistency of animations specifically when wide open. If you’re covered I understand that. But when you’re wide open you should be able to reliable shoot that as if you’re in my court because realistically that’s how it is in real life. That don’t mean you’ll make everything but surely we should be able to agree the animation and everything should stay the same to better help guarantee to punish the defense

The latency is actually there for a reason. For example when driving and you push your stick to the right, the game has to wait to go up for the layup/dunk to make sure you don't push the stick back to the left to do a euro.

The server problems seem to be some kind of cost savings of using cheap / small instances for servers, trying to keep the network bandwidth and number of updates as low as possible because amazon charges for all data transfer, and basically just trying to find cost effective ways to deliver online functionality.

Tutes, I’m telling you right now. There is something in the game online that prevents me from shooting over 50% on high risk, it doesn’t activate until you’re in an online game against people, I believe it’s been programmed like this to prevent people testing it out. I’ve mastered all of my animations and I’m telling you, I should be shooting over 50% by now. They are making me miss even when I’m greening, I’m so confident in this that when people make 2 threes in a row I leave them wide open on purpose and they WILL miss it. Every miss I shoot is “slightly late” but that’s a straight up lie.
I average 50% from 3PT and 50% from mid range over 500 games bro, and I can show you the stats.

The best thing 2K could do to combat latency is to probably rework their servers, but that would require a lot of money and work. Not to mention that this is an annual release so they can't necessarily afford to do this unless they decide to take a year off imo
Also, you can shoot even in latency. That's why you have to pay attention to your shot cue and not rely on muscle memory. Believe it or not, but you subconsciously start using muscle memory the more you play and that can throw you off. Remember to look at your screen
2K is also overreacting to cheaters. All they really need is a good report system within the game

That's why they need a good report system that doesn't just ban you for one or two reports. Then you'd be able to appeal the ban if you could prove you dont have a cheating device

Silver has nothing to do with it. I'm consistent Purple plate with 87/80 and instead of mixing my missed shots in each game, I'll have perfect shooting games followed by a game it won't let me hit anything at all, even bricking open dunks or hitting the bottom of the rim on open driving lays smfh (87 driving/82 standing/83 vert/90 lay)

I have 99 defensive rebound and 6’9”s with 80 offensive rebound are grabbing boards on me (7 foot with 83 vert) even rebounds are RNG. This game is trash.

I use high-risk and rhythm shooting for catch-and-shoot in the City or MyCourt, I’ve noticed the animations feel different. Sometimes they’re fast, other times slow, and it throws off my push timing or tempo. I’m not sure if it’s just a glitch that doesn’t affect the shot or if it’s some kind of input lag.
Except with high risk the make window is NOT 99% lol
That’s the biggest issue; that even with the “no RnG high risk setting” after your first 2 green 3s; you’ll be flipping a coin even if you time your shot perfectly

One of the most annoying things to me is that greens don’t always swish.
In terms of fixing latency, they could take some tricks from fighting games and how they read the frames on the player’s screen and relay that to the server rather than use the server’s game state to determine the frame the player released their shot or executed their dribble move on.
It ruined 2k, I deleted it, first time in 4 years I’ve deleted 2k.
2k24 was so much fun, I have no idea how that was a bad game. I had almost 2000 hours played.
If you greened a shot, it went in, if you greened your dunk, you dunked. If you defended your defender, he was defended. It just made sense. This game is broken. No wonder everyone left.
Last year in Aussie servers there was 2000-3000 people online at any time, now there’s less than 200. It isn’t just me who dislikes rng, it’s everyone. The amount of money they lost is staggering. I usually make 10-20 builds and this year I’ve made 2. I refuse to give them my money this year.
I’ve been perfecting to green contested shots lately. I’ve been greening tights at a surprisingly decent rate even. I’m thinking that where high risk also takes effect. But you do have to release all (opens-tight) earlier than wide open shots.
Only problem with this is shooting becomes muscle memory rather than shot cue
@3:00 to add to info to that. According to 2klabs and Some of 2kTutes test, even the best jumpers have a make percentage of around 75-80%. And thats seemingly the problem with RNG. Even though you timed it correctly it will only be a green for you 75-80% of the time with a top tier jump shot and shooting on high risk. So within that last 20-25% the game will make you miss.

Issue with game isn’t shot profiles, it’s gameplay movement animations. They introduced pro play without the ability to make those thousands of animations play out decently. Thats the core issue.

RNG is crap, you make smart defensive moves and get punished for it, there should be zero reasons, me with High flying denier on Legend, block someone going to the rim and that same person i blocked recovers literally right after the block and get the ball back while i cant move and then they score cause im stunned from a successful DEFENSIVE PLAY!! And dont get me started with the shooting, cause low risk is the best option for shooting, i shoot on high risk(and i know my shot, im more than decent) but so many people make contested white shots its ridiculous, i feel like ppl make more white shots than ppl make green on high risk, its so dumb.

Legend rebound chaser, and while it's only happened twice in a few hundred games, I've actually tipped the ball in for a score for the op team while going for a defensive rebound.. both times it's happened had been in close games and me with takeover. Like, why tf is this even a thing in the game? Neither time was i getting contested for the rebound either, should've been open routine snag and break start

@ i have did the same thing 4 times already with a 70 rebound 3 in close pro am games and once in the park its so goofy and plenty of times my character has thrown the ball straight out of bounds not to a teammate or anything.

If I have a 99 open 3, 7 different legend badges, shooting boost, lethal hot zones, and good jumpshot timing, I wanna shoot 80% on my open shots. The pick and rolls are rng too. The cpu picks when you can go around them or not.
2k tutes please hear me out there a way to time your jumpshot with your left trigger please test this it works for meter dunks as well, for example if u start a jumpshot or a meter dunk just keep holding it down but tap ur left trigger at the point u suppose to time it. so if u hold ur right stick down to shoot keep holding it down and basically tap or hold down ur left trigger at the point u suppose to let it go to green it. same with meter dunk we all know to flick up and hold down with right stick in 1 motion then let it go to time but if u just keep holding it down and time it with your left trigger it'll work I wanna if is better or easier or anything it would be great to know.
What about rng that’s unrelated to shooting? The game pre-determines the outcome of every animation and it doesn’t matter if you made the right play. It’s low skill based and unrewarding.
How many times you perfect an on ball steal, only to get dragged into a 5 second scrambling animation and somehow the offense regains control and get a free basket cuz you’re now out of position?
How many times have you attempted a well timed block, only for the ball to bounce directly back to an open guy on offensive?
How many times you are wide open under the basket, instead of dunking you put up some weak layup on the other side of the rim that gets sent to 3rd row?
Making the right play, and have rng decide the outcome and bail out bad players is unfun and anti-competitive. Game does not feel rewarding or enjoyable, simple as that
Did taking green machine out of the game affect the green window size?? I feel like if it was left in, after the fifth shot once you got green machine the green windows would have over lapped from shot 5 to 6 and from 6 to 7. Leaving a much better chance to continue to make shots. With that said I still hope Rhythm Shooting comes back in 26. It has really helped me understand shooting since you can't rely solely on timing. I shoot on high-risk only. If you're not shooting on high-risk you're putting yourself at a HUGE disadvantage. I think the only time rng should be in the game is when two players have stats that combat each other example 99 three vs 99 perimeter, also just remove the shot meter for shots not layups, i personally haven’t really seen cheating that i know of in pro am like i did last year, my personal opinion

Is it possible to get a 100% make chance on a jumpshot with badges? Based on jumpshot charts ive seen and the boosts from set shot specialist and dimer, it should be possible, though most jumpers would only get a small window. That being said i dont even know if 2k lab uses normal or high risk in their testing.

The shooting was great last 2k. Cheating is so rare. No lifed 2k24 and never came across a person I suspected of cheating. The whole zen thing is a massive overreaction on 2k's part. Changing the actual cue and timing of shots, and then adding onto it there's no 100% window is insane. And the good old people who go "get better" don't realise basically every single pro player hates it as well and struggles shooting wide open in games too. I'm not trying to say people with an 80 3ball should be greening 60 to 70% of their shots, but virtual no life pro players are barely shooting 50 with 99 3ball lmao. RNG has gotta go, let the handful of people who manage to cheat have it, even though timing changes with contests.
If i green the shot then i should make the shot if you want percentages to be lower then make shooting genuinely hard to do implement more of the quick jumpshots and slower jumpshots tighten the green window on fades but if i green it i make it

Idk y yall want the game to be competitive those days r over. Even 2k TH-camrs all move on. They obviously tryna make money not everyone tryna watch best jumpshot/ sigs / outfit/ drippy face scan vids to get better we know this. They need to have worse players beat better so that kids and casuals will stay on and like it. I mean they literally nerfed steal to dirt/ took away dunk meter/ and added slumps and risk rng. Then gave post scoring the most badges ever to help low skill.
RNG isn't random, but the algorithm is off and miscalculates more than it should
Call it what you want. A wide open lay up or dunk is missed because of poor shot selection is complete bs. Street Ball gives you everything except REP! A mode I prefer. I am beyond sick of seeing poor shot selection pop up. Open or lightly contested shots. It pops up in every game I play. I’m losing games bc of missed open shots, not the opponent defense.
You should never make a contested white. NEVER. Especially if it's late timing. Bring back the comp.
Something is going on with Rhythm Shooting this weekend, at least in Rec. I think the servers can't really handle the amount of players in there and causing a lot of latency issues. Been shooting a lot of very lates on the tempo and push timing. I haven't shot with Rhythm Shooting since early season 2. But right after the game I go to the outdoor parks and MyCourt and put some shots up with Rhythm Shooting and I'm just fine.......
Shooting 43% in Rec 55% in park 83 three point rating🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
I'm not even tripping about the other shooting settings like low and normal but if there is an option in the game called high-risk that was sold to be the green or miss option then why is my green window not pure why is there still a chance for me to miss a shot I actual greened. There are legit scenarios where no matter how open u got or how good u actually timed the shot u won't make it u can leave the RNG setting in but don't take the actual skill settings out. My connection not bad and I'm not an average player but because those players exist I gotta be brought down to their level and be in hell games when in any other 2k they would be off the court is crazy

If they give us back pure green windows and and make the green window minimal the only people they will punish is the same group of us that are upset with the current shooting... Less skilled players still wont be able to shoot but the titans and zens will bail the cheaters out ...i blame mike wang for the cheaters ..zens were under the radar until 2k21 old gen when mike wang first attacked shooting and made it difficult
Dont mind rng, what i do hate is they keep patching bases!!! Dont care what any TH-camr says, yes 2k patch jumpshots!! I was shooting about 66% on 3s this season and after last patch i couldnt hit shit , just switched my base for any random base i found , Went playing rec without any single practice shot in my court and shot 7/9 on 3s this
Oh and if homies open and a white goes in, you should be better playing d instead of hoping the games dogshit moving green window makes them miss. There is no justification for speeding and slowing down OPEN shot animations just so they can fight zens.

RNG shouldn’t be in the game, point blank. Work on anti-cheat systems. It would crazy if we were playing CoD or Fortnite and bullets just so happen to stray far left or far right to balance KD Ratios.
Or if we use a med kit but it didn’t heal 100% health to “balance out” the game.
Yo got a question, so I’m a 6’10 build that plays primarily 2s and 3s and wanted to ask about the giannis and Dwight animations, I have a 75 driving and 72 standing dunk, got elite rim pulls and get a lot of standing dunk animations and only dunk when wide open and on cuts, wanted to ask if there is any point worrying about using caps to get both of these dunk animations? As well is there any point getting the dunk animations when I just use safe dunks to not get blocked. Is there any point making another build if I can’t get these dunk animations
Don't forget, Xbox players who have elite controllers and can map the rhythm shooting stick to the buttons on the back so it's less difficult taking the mechanic to areas that the devs never intended.
Rhythm shooting was a lazy way to deter 3rd party programs from helping your shot. Players do NOT want to learn a new shooting mechanic when they've been playing a certain way for a decade!
Aim Shooting was the perfect example. Less than 2% of players I played against in 21' used it. The players have spoken. The only reason people use it this year is because you can green stupid low 3pt rating shots.
It can't just be me, it totally feels like the game nerfs and buffs us depending on what their algorithm wants to happen. With the main goal of keeping as many ppl playing as possible.
I have 700 hours in this game with 5 different 99 builds that I've meticulously made. I will go on streaks, beating gold's and purples then afterwards it seems like they make my players turn to complete garbage. Dribbling out of bounds. Passing super delayed. Feel like I'm way slower. Not getting good rebound animations. Plus way more nerfs. This results in me going on huge losing streaks and often even to blacks, bronzes and silvers.
I am honestly a really intelligent team first basketball player in real life and play the same in the game. I have been highly competitive in video games for 18 years (31 now). Even was top 10 in the world in Fight Night Champion. High ranked in Cod. High ranked in FIFA.
Why are all my builds going from Gold all the way back down to bronze over and over? I swear this game is rigged. Like I'd put a lot of money on it if the actual truth was promised to be revealed.
Sorry for my ramble, I just spent a fair bit of money and a lot of time into this game and feel like I'm getting ripped off beyond belief.
Oh it’s a real thing bro. You aren’t crazy you are getting nerfed and buffed this whole game is a huge simulation you only control where your player moves
They should just find a way to reward good play and punish bad play more then it is
NBA 2K21's Shot Aiming was the best thing to ever happen to shooting in 2K, but Zens and skill gap complainers made the devs take it out. There are going to be cheaters with Zens every single year regardless of what they put out. Overall, Shot Aiming was they best solution for shooting in 2K in my opinion.
2k tried fixing all the issues the lazy way and this is what we get. they coudlve worked on anti cheat or better servers to combat the delay. but no. they add rng for people to play one hour a day to compete w people who play 5 a day. if you dont put in time and effort you shouldnt be rewarded and that goes for every single thing in life.

Honestly I doubt rng had anything to do with latency. It was all about building the casual player base. This game has the lowest skill gap of any 2k in years

I'm honestly over the RNG talk. Honestly I'm at the point where I can tell when I'm going to miss a shot as soon as I let it go. I dont feel RNG is in shooting. People just making excuses on why they can't shoot consistent. I have a 80 3 ball and shoot 65% from 3 and shoot hash in rec with the sqaud so no I dont sit corner and i shoot on high risk
If you have an 80 three ball you literally can’t shoot at the hash lol. You can’t get limitless bronze with an 80
