Belgrade and Novi Sad have successfully revitalized themselves. It's time for Serbia to focus it's attention on Niš and Kragujevac. Serbia needs several strong economic centers that will help it develop more uniformily and in turn reduce the need for the whole of Serbia to migrate to Belgrade.
this is a really cool comment. I also feel the same about Užice. I want to go back there, but I feel like if Serbia put more funding into Užice, it could be an incredible city for living and tourism.
Niš made progress in the recents years mainly because of its International airport. If we compare Novi Sad and Niš there is no difference. Kragujevac has so much work to do in order to affirm its status of one of the largest cities in Serbia. After Belgrade, Niš and Novi Sad, Kragujevac has the biggest potential comparing to the other cities in Serbia.
My mom is from Niš and her parents are still there, i am from Belgrade and this is my take: -Niš has extremely cheap taxi service compared to Belgrade. Most rides will be between 250-350 din. -Niš is flat, so you can buy a bicycle and go anywhere in 20 min top -People drive their cars way slower so it is a safer environment -Speciality shops, like bakeries are a bit cheaper in Niš -Dentists are also way cheaper. Many people come from the EU to Niš to fix their teeth -Niš is greener than Belgrade, there are more trees, parks, benches and its a cleaner place, as people dont litter as much -There are more second hand shops which can be really cheap for the high quality clothes
I love the part about the greener city. I said that in the video too, but I accidentally forgot to put it in. Yes, it is a much cleaner city. That is a huge reason I like it so much. Also with apartments, I forgot to say that a lot of apartment buildings are newer and better maintained and less problems with infestation :/
I am from Nis and my family is living in the city for 120 years now. I really like your video but I think that you missed the most crucial thing about Nis. I think that the best thing about Nis is the food. Nis has one of the best cuisines in Europa. Everybody should visit legendary Nis kafana`s.
Number 1 reason to live in Niš: You just may get lucky and catch a glimpse of Amerikanka walking down the street. Never been to Nis, looks like a pretty city with good vibe.

In restaurants (we call them only restaurants, not kafane), you can eat international food. My recommendation is kafana "Orač", kafana "Dagi Plus", kafana "Aleksić", kafana "Stambolijski". Our most famous salad is "Šopska salata". Always ask the waiters what they recommend of the food. As you said, Niš has a beautiful nature. Everything is close. Novi Sad is much nicer and cleaner than Niš, but we southerners are much more open to socializing. If you like to get to know Serbia and its beauties, I recommend you to visit western Serbia: Zlatar mountain, Zlatibor mountain, Tara, Vrnjačka spa, Pešter, Koviljača spa, various Serbian monasteries from the Middle Ages. Eastern Serbia: Kladovo (city on the Danube), Srebrno jezero, Golubac fortress... In the south there are mountains: Besna kobila, Čemernik, Stara planina... We moved from Belgrade to Nis when i was a teenager and it didn't take me too long to promise myself not to move from here unless career forces me to. Luckily, it didn't. Working remotely since forever and still loving it. Has everything you need, yet not overcrowded, traffic easier to handle, cheaper, absolutely no crime (vs Belgrade where i was regularly robbed as a kid in 90s), people are more relaxed and way more accessible. Whenever something starts bothering me (like traffic etc) i just go to Belgrade for a few weeks and see how bad can it actually be :) Black people are so rare here, so just like in the rest of the Serbia, they are a true attraction and we love them, but its more pronounced here than in BG - it may bother you, you may love it, but it is what it is :) Either way, welcome! ..and I saw you a few times in Kazandzijsko a year or two ago (and no, im not being racist, it WAS you :) so I'm glad you are still loving it.
Hello, there are so much more about Niš. Many monuments, historical and so. Cele Kula/Scull Tower, Mediana, Cegar, Bubanj... omg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i tried so many times to visit Pirot because one of my good friends in Niš is from Pirot and we always planned to go there together, but the plan kept being interrupted. I am sad I have not been there yet, or Vranje :(
@@amerikanka well,if you decide to visit it,contact me😊 id be glad to be your host

I agree, Knjazevac and Leskovac as well, and many others.
Bravooo❤❤❤
Nis is awesome.
😍
October is an off-season month in Montenegro, but it is still a summer month there (it's a full month behind the northern US, seasonally). Luxury hotels with spas, sitting right on the coast, cost under $55 a night. Yes, you read that right. Dinners for three are about the same as comparable dinners for one in the US. Or, get your hair done literally as beautifully as you would in Paris, for the price of an American tip.
Welcome to 🇷🇸
Sićevo is dropdead gorgeous
Looks lovely. Is there skiing nearby?
Visit Niska banja, Go hiking in Zaplanje, Sicevacka klisura, Visit Cegar, cele kula, Medijana and 12. februar concentration camp. Go to Svrljig to eat at ''kamiondzije'' kafana. make videos. good luck
Niš is very destroyed city in a previous wars and that's the reason why it's not that much popular destination. I think that people from south side are very warm and please don't be offended if someone is staring at you. It's pretty rare to see Afro-American girl here and you are beautiful, so... of course people will stare lol 😆
Damn, you're getting closer and closer to me... ;) I like that
Where did you find the best food in the places you've travelled to recently? I was in Novi Sad for a few months last year and I just got really tired of the food in a shorter time than I expected. I still love the place though and plan to go back often. Just wondering if the neighboring cities have more variety if foods? Oh and i don't mean just Serbian Foods.. I mean restaurants of all types.
Aww thanks i live in niš and that's town where i was born😊❤
Just came back from Montenegro. I was stunned. The quality of life was beyond anything I had ever seen absent real wealth, and is literally impossible anywhere else with the means that typical Montenegrins have.
Come to Pancevo its 10by car from Belgrade and apart of Vojvodina.
My hometown ❤️
👑💛
I can understand you. You very cutest girl.
I grew up in Niš. The main attraction of the Niš is food and 2nd main attraction is people. Even more then Belgrade people here are much more socializing on regular bases, but of course helps a lot if you are not just randomly walking trough the town but actually meet someone and let him take you around to family and friends. 3rd yeah its cheep-fix your teeth aaaand if you plan to stay for a month or even more there are even cheaper options then 20$ per night. I used to rent my flat in the House for only 150€ for a month. 4th Yeah Nature very nice. 5th if you like history and archeology you hit a jackpot. Niš was put into the top 10 cities in Europe for its tourist/heritage untapped potential. There are a lot of Roman and Turkish structures. A lot of simply not even researched because city doas not have money.
Returning from Metochia I stopped in Nis and went to Kelle Kule........☦☸
Lele kudeće beograd da si otive kad ni amerikanci ne može da plaćuju tamo više!
ali mogu RUSI 😁😂😂😂😂😂o da i Ukrainci 😉
Smart move !!
Oh yeah! U guys really have Ryanair from Nis, but in Belgrade it isn't same thing
Can we go for cofee D I live in Nis too d
Love to you from Australia SRB
The best city in Serbia! 😍
It’s the burek honey, it’s the burek!
Belgrade and the city life in general are so overrated therefore you made a great choice, especially downsizing
how much rent to this apartment
Is it difficult to be vegan in Nis?
what until winter comes and you wont be able to see or breathe outside
Niš is way cheaper than Belgrade
if you are always traveling and dont have a home base, where do you work or have do you make money?? it cant be from youtube because you dont seem active on youtube enough for it to be a sole source of income
many people work online or have remote jobs. i would think the pandemic would show you that that is quite common to do
@@amerikanka yeah i know, but what is it?? are u a teacher? or what.
@@balkanscorpio5378 I don`t see how that`s any of your business? Such questions are impolite to say the least. There is such a thing as manners, you know.
@@sapientiapotestasest3073 how is asking what type of job someone does that allows them to travel, implite on a channel thats about traveling? TF is wrong with you gooofball. This is the internet, anyone can ask whatever they want, is someone dont want to answer thats fine, but there is nothing wrong with asking anyyy question esp not on the internet.

The Amerikanka thanks for giving Eastern Europe and Slavic Nations so much love. :)
Russians came and rents went insanely high in Belgrade.
I heard over 100 thousand Russians came and the prices are really high now.

Come to Subotica, it’s great here. But no wonderful nature
If you have money and if you are not a Serb, Serbia is for you.

The prettiest place in Serbia is Kosovo.
Don't mind the demolished orthodox graves and 1200 year old monasteries and then seeing muslim albanians living there, courtesy of america
Niš is also pretty despite having two containers of cluster bombs dumped on by Nato in 99'
i enjoy living in Belgrade Waterfront , the little cities are a bit boring after a while.
cuo sam da se na beogradu na vodi kvari vodovod i ne radi cesma
I know I'm a srbin (niš) is true.
