I think it is risky for one partner to remains quite when they are aware the other is cheating. In some instances the cheating spouse may be tempted to harm or eliminate the other out of fear of the consequences when the affairs is discovered. Especially if the person they are cheating with is malicious, they can become partners in committing crime
