I played a game on an old commodore PC that I think was called pyramid run? You drove a jeep up a pyramid avoiding small sand pyramids and I think cacti? It would progressively get faster as you got closer to the top. The death screen haunted me as a child as it was a big laughing skull, but this makes me want to recreate it in a 3D likeness. Thanks for the nostalgia! ❤

How cool ! When Epic did the jam this year, i also got hit by some school computer nostalgia, so I went in and made SkiFree but in UE5. It was the first project that I started from 0 and actually finished well enough. Channels like yours (or smartPoly) really helped me get into unreal. Thanks.

Haha that's great "finished well enough". I always say, "games are never finished, only released".

Great video! I think it's really helpful to see other peoples workflows and approaches to things, especially when looking at something like this where you cover alot ground quickly. We got to see clean basic implementation of Game Mode setup, gameplay scripting, widgets, input mapping and more, super nice!
I'd also like to say thank you for your previous videos. Your presentation style is great and you've taught me alot!
    Cheers dude!

This is great. Always enjoy your vids and get excited when you show in my notifications!
One idea that might be interesting is trying to recreate the telegraph combat system from Wildstar. Always been interested to see how something like that would be made in UE. Obviously the full combat system is a lot so maybe just the telegraph part itself and it filling up based on the abilities cast time

Hey thanks! Wdym telegraph combat system? Ive never played that game.

@@ReidsChannel here is a link to a vid that I found that explains it. Wildstar was an MMO and it got praise for it’s action combat system: th-cam.com/video/PgFo28scfYM/w-d-xo.html

What about a new video on this project, with the same format, and in which you "juicify" the game? working on aesthetics, signs & feedbacks, gamefeel etc.

That's an awesome throwback man, props! I was going through your channel to learn about the character movement component, and was wondering about how the network checks the velocity and if that's replicated to the server. If I have a movement component where the whole idea behind it is varying acceleration so the walk speed is consistently changing (from bhoping), then how do I go about sending that to the server? do I pass it in converted as a bit wise flag, or is replication enough for the network call to pick that up correctly? Sorry to throw this on you, I'm just kinda stuck learning that stuff and thought your tutorial for sprinting and wall running was awesome!
One last thing, how does the sprinting register the new movement speed from the flag? I just don't know how to pass the velocity along with the network call, how should I do it?

I would be forever in your debt if you built the game called Motherload. I spent way too many hours in that game.
