I’ve completed rangers path 3 times. It always feels gnarly and the top section is flat out. Then those steep switch backs. Bloody awesome. Really good vlog mate
What time of year would you recommend to go do this as I don’t wanna drive there and mow down hikers , plus il have to push the hardtail to the top lol 😂
Summer months your not allowed on the mountain between 10am and 5pm. Your going to enjoy the experience so much more the fewer people there. The weather at the summit can be quite bad. So when you plan to go have some flexibility. Eg if you are heading up for the weekend only decide which day based on forecast max 18 hours before. We planned Saturday morning but did Snowdon Friday evening due to weather forecast for the weekend. Then go ride coed y
@@LazyMTBrider I’m on a mtb course in north wales toward end of November and I reckon subject to weather window I could get away with doing it on the Friday before heading home
mountain passes need to be graded out because they get used and eroded. At one point the Rangers Path will have been extremely smooth and will have been worn away over time. Gravel and rocks have to be airdropped onto mountains to restore them after people use them. The paths you used are bridleways that see walkers, bikers and horse riders. Complaining that the surface is better is an elitist mentality that excludes less capable people from the sport, and is only something i see from other MTBers. People were complaining that the Chute on the Mach loop got graded out but they failed to realise people who aren't enduro riders use it too. Now more people can enjoy the sport and there are still plenty of rugged off-road passes to try. have a go at the Sarn Helen, you'll be dreaming of the Telegraph Valley before long.
I watched the vid to see if its worth going & read your comment which I agree with, so, not gonna bother. Flicked through your other vids & watched you do the Macavalanche so my worthless 2c is. Forget booking that again, get to Alpe d'Huez for the Megavalanche, you sound like you'll love it.
I get what you are saying about trail sanitisation but it doesn't look easy! Probably a mix of sanitisation, practice and improvement, better bikes. Anyway - use a hardtail next or no dabs on a FS!
Yes what worries me is there working the way up further and further chipping away and turning more to loose gravel. Yes I also get what your saying. I have new goal to ride it without putting my foot down at all. I seem to have no reduction in enthusiasm to ride it no matter how many times.
Im going to give it a try. Im doing the wrekin in Telford next weekend
