That last turn in Bob’s Tavern was so incomprehensible but so entertaining at the same time.

Full hand, 8 gold in bank and a discover card unused. Typical pirates game.
Holy smokes that apm and quick thinking was insane during the last round. I couldn't even keep up with what the game plan was at that point lol
If you have quad hoggers, the game plan is : see pirate, buy pirate. Each pirate costs 3, quad hoggers gives you back 3 gold on pirate purchase, so each pirate is free. Each pirate sells for one, so each pirate is actually +1gold.
So see pirate, buy pirate. Then you play as many pirates as you have time because that buffs the saltylooter, and then you get to land a huge buff with the girl that gives a buff depending on how many pirates you had that turn. And because you're buying so many pirates, you get tripples, so yay.
Some pirates are more valuable (the one that gives +2attack to your other pirates etc...), but trying to optimize that isn't worth it, just see pirate, buy pirate, play pirate.
@@TheSebGG I appreciate the detailed reply lol. I guess I misspoke a bit. Like, I know what the "plan plan" is, but keeping up with what the correct pirate to play each time was what was tough to follow. Like, when are you keeping a pirate and when are you selling? Obviously you want to save up for triples, but you need to keep track of which ones you're holding on to and which ones to sell. Then you have to play triples, pick a discover, then sell them both usually. Also which ones have extra synergies on the board and which don't.
Obviously it's not THAT complicated, but I was definitely not as quick as Kibler was lol. Normally I am step by step thinking relatively as fast as he is (he's way better than me though). He just has insane apm and was clearly thinking a lot faster than I was. Perhaps some of it is muscle memory for how much he plays, but dang I am no where near that speed yet lol.

Man I love APM pirates. Always been a combo player in traditional card game modes - and this is *the* combo for BGs!

Love all the battleground videos! You and Dog are my favorite hearthstone creators and I love that y'all are making so many videos on this mode over standard.
Most fun I've ever had in a game is double golden hogger as Reno (I Heropowered one). Every pirate I bought added 4 more gold to my pool, so I had infinite money. Ended up with three minions all 100/100+.
Yeah it's good times, my largest minion record at the moment is held by a 200+/200+ looter.

@@esarrti4312 That did happen to me doing more or less the same thing with Millhouse. Had a fully stocked pirate board, one golden hogger + a normal one. Ended up being totally rekt by exodia murlocs. feelsprettybadman
12:05 Golden Hogger means every pirate is essentially free (three gold to buy, two from hogger, one from sell), so that's basically three free buffs on the looter (along with +2 attack on every pirate) and you'd only really be at a net loss of one gold to roll into a new board. Though it's also a last-second call, so your reasoning is valid.
15:14 Really sad to see Kibler miss that Amalgadon
Actually, Amalgadon would have been a bad pick. His whole purpose at that point was to get as many pirates bought and played as he could and he was selling everything right after he played it. The Amalgadon adds animations that would have increased the lag and slowed him down. There were a couple of other pirates he missed because he was going too quickly, but none of it really mattered, he was getting 4 coins every time he paid 3 to buy a pirate (3 from Hoggarrr and 1 from selling it), so coin wasn't his bottleneck - time was. His computer is clearly faster than mine - when he grabbed that golden Admiral I was a bit nervous because I cannot tell you how many times I've done something like that and then had a bad lag spike that keeps me from re-playing it due to the animation of turning it golden.
That last tavern turn was just obscene.

Hey BMK, you're my favorite streamer over the years. Thanks for posting youtube vids of BG content, I'm fully switched from constructed to BG these days since the Galakrond meta's RNG degeneracy got out of hand. Would love to see more of you in this segment in the near future, obviously the meta might improve next expansion but it's super awesome to see you in this format for the time being.
PS - not that you made any misplays per se, but I would have slammed the #4 salty looter and sold pretty much anything else that turn you got two of them (and held #5 until it got tripled). From my experience, Salty + Hoggar are the only two minions that are relevant in late game pirates. Much love

One of my coworkers steams and someone donated $5 for him to buy a coffee, he was so happy about that. It really is hard to be a casual streamer with a tiny audience, but he's not quitting to do it full time; one of the 'downsides' of being an adult with no fallback if you crash and burn :)

APM pirates- pretty sure that Kibler has played 10X more pirates in Battlegrounds than in his entire career in Standard

Only got 1st with patches once and it was with murlocs, the game really doesn’t give me pirates whenever I pick him, had a game where I saw my first pirate on 7 gold, crazy shit
This Hoggar apm build is the most fun in the game by a mile though, had a game with Reno where I got an early Hoggar, easiest hero power of my life, ended up with a 106/87 of that windfury guy lol

Holy shit! Time to pick patches every time I see him and feed my ass off
Big misplay at 5:50. The small of punish was very minor but by pressing hero power first and 2 swabbies in hand, he would have lost the 2 economy from battlecry if he tripled it (and he had 2 space on board so there was no reason not to play them). Also ould have resulted in 2/2 less stats on the looter so ye if he hit the triple that would have been a LOT of missed value

I haven’t been playing much standard lately because I’ve been enjoying battlegrounds a lot more, so I just don’t have many games to upload. That will change with the new expansion

The real reason i want to stream is so I can make a deal with the devil allowing me to have streamer luck.
I get that "streamer luck" is a meme, but most people only end up seeing the hand-picked games that get put on TH-cam. Trust me, you play as much as they do and you'll automatically get the streamer luck also...and you'll also get the really really bad luck that they sometimes get, but don't upload to TH-cam because those games would not be enjoyable to watch. And yes - I get that ultimately you probably already realize that - your comment is still humorous :D.
This is also why most uploaded games are the streamer winning...games that you lose might sometimes have been very incredible games...if only you could have seen your opponent's hand and the choices they made. Kibler is actually pretty good about recognizing and uploading interesting games to watch that he loses as well as those he wins, which is one of the reasons I like watching Kibler more than other videos...not knowing for certain if he is going to pull it off or not at the end often adds to the enjoyment.
@@ericbess5917 I would say that he does it, but usually it's a win. It's about 95% wins, yk? And yeah, I do realize that it is streaming highlights. But the other thing you have to remember is that these are professional players in their respective games. So while it may be some luck, it's also a lot of skill based on good judgement. Also, I feel that Trump uploads losses as well as wins moreso than Kibler. But that's just my opinion.
@@Gorbgorbenson Agreed - though some streamers are better players than others, they wouldn't be successful streamers if they weren't good at what they do.
Personally, I have a hard time watching Trump. He seems like a nice guy, but something about his demeanor grates on my nerves.
I wasn't responding to their skill, just your comment about "streamer luck". I have a hard time personally with hanging on too long to minions I feel I have an investment it. I see streamers sell stuff that I cringe at and then realize that I'm only cringing because of that tendency of mine and they are totally correct to move on. So yeah, to some degree they "make their own luck", but if you actually watch their streams, you see that they get creamed a decent amount as well. They may be good, but their ratings are high so they are also playing with other players at the same level.
@@ericbess5917 That's understandable. Trump does have a slight layer of cringe to him, but that's part of that fun imo. Him playing Cuphead is a prime example. It's so funny seeing him go for "value" with the homing gun even though it does the least damage. Or him just being clueless about one of the Run 'n' gun levels.
He has that "nice guy" feel to him, but it seems to be an actual genuine attitude, or he "plays the character" well enough that it doesn't come off as disingenuous or anything like that.
This level of APM is like the polar opposite of watching Trump play pirates.
Partly disagree about hooktusk. It's became slightly weaker, indeed, and looks very close like malygos, but still it gives you free battlecries time to time, and if you hit token at lvl1, it almost as goog as yogg. I was afraid to play her after nerf, but tried today and finished 1st with beasts
@lul bin lul you can get it with rafaam too and brann can offer only them at 1-2 lvl, so) it's not even that bad, -2 hp, but solid body for few starting tirns
