  • LEGO Rover 8x8 UPGRADE - experiments & evolution of highly off-road vehicle RC car with 4 motors in snow & overcoming various obstacles, lots of all-wheel drive wheels on independent axes vs caterpillar.
The evolution of technical improvement highly off-road vehicle from LEGO Technic with 4 motors all 8 whell at 4 independent axes drive RC-car (IR remote control).
Different types (eight wheels, tracks on wheels, four triangular tracks, single large tracks, raised caterpillar, toothy tracks) of several designs experiments.
Which is better at overcoming obstacles - wheels or caterpillars?
Test runs on a flat surface, obstacles, snow and rags.

How is it an 8x8 it clearly has four wheels in each side so it's a 4x4

    • @funbrick

All 8 (eight) wheels are powered! AWD, 8WD.
4x4 is when there are only four wheels, and all of them are powered (like a regular SUV car), but here there are eight of them.

      it's a 2x4 because 2 times 4 is 8 but 4 times 4 is 16
