The static backgrounds of the additional graphics chip makes the G7000+ games (and even some of the G7400 games...) look like Game&Watch games. Some of these homebrews are really impressive, many of them I had no clue existed.
It always felt a strange one, I remember seeing this on display/to play in shops at the time, often department stores. Always felt like it was better than the 2600, might have been on par with the Colleco and Intellivision but was not getting the 'name' conversions and the display games always felt a bit lackluster compared to what was on my Spectrum. And my Audio-Visual palate was already spoiled by the Atari 800 playing Star Raiders back in about 81. But for the 81-85 period for a console, some of these seem visually impressive.
Most games for it just looks blant but there is a huge potential in that system with better graphics being more closer to the nes. Just imagine, donkeykong,dk jr,pac man, mariobros etc… for that system, because fhat would be cool.
I've always wanted to know this system for quite a while and now I'm having the chance here. It truly has a graphic overhaul if compared with previous Odyssey/Videopac systems, and the inclusion of digitized voices is, as I can listen, what differs the most as well. The sound approach of more noise and bleeps and no soundtrack makes a difference in the G7000+, but not a real forwarding move. I keep myself wondering why it hasn't been brought here to Brazil, since Odyssey was a huge success thanks to the Brazilian Philips. It could have been huge! Even if it would be our "real" Odyssey 2. At least, now I know what the Dutch and other Europeans had as an option of a videogame console...

Most under-rated system of all time! Had a lot of fun with it back in the day :)
I have the Odyssey 2 with The Voice modulator, but looking at these videos definitely makes me wish the Odyssey 3 happened.

It's a shame we never got the O³ here in the U.S.
More love to the G7400+! Killer Bees is still THE game to have!
Yeah, I agree, awesome game!
Wow! Never seen this one

What planet are you on??
Remember playing Terrahawks on my friends Phillips console. Basic but quite fun. Cheers
I knew 1 Videopac owner when i was a kid, He was a very unhappy chap.
God, was the Pac Man clone even finished?
Don't think so.
That first one had that droning sound added... Kind of threw me off (in a good way!) lol
9:30 Pacman in crack?!

The speech comes from The Voice add-on, not sure if that was released in Brazil.
@TheLairdsLair As far as I've heard of Odyssey here in Brazil, I really don't think so.
Haha! What on Earth was going on in that bee game? Bonkers.
Killer Bees is brilliant, you can see more of it in my Videopac exclusives video: th-cam.com/video/l923Y5Y1IhY/w-d-xo.html
Never saw this system in Canada. Interesting!
It was never released in Canada, it was supposed to be the Odyssey 3 in North America.
Had one - my Friends had the 2600 😊 Atari
