    Thanks for your video I watched it step by step to put mine together
    My paddles inside were different shape and had to bend to get them were they should but mostly the same. you have bike handles on one side I don't but will get some cause I can see my shins hitting them
    In my instructions it said put rubber washer on before putting bottom base on I looked everywhere only to discover it was already put on
    Book instructions were good but watching a video worked better for me.
    Now I can make my foot paths and many more rhings

    I put mine together a few weeks back and put three litres of water in it to test the seal around the tub. It leaked like a sieve.
    I knew the top of the tub was warped when I put it together but thought the pressure applied by tightening the bolts would compress the seal enough to stop it leaking. Unfortunately the deformations in the rim of the tub were between the bolts and didn't get compressed.
    Ozito needs to get the factory in China to double the number of bolts so that the seal gets compressed more evenly.
    My advice is when you buy one, get a tube of silicone and not only put a thick bead on the seal but also along the outside of the seam.
    Don't do it until you know you have got the thing put together correctly because the instructions are almost as bad as the quality of the manufacturing and you don't want to have to remove an reapply silicone.
    As far as the barrow is concerned, I made a shute out of 595 x 1200mm melamine and put 100mm sides on it to stop any spill. It rests of the horizontal support with a block of wood on it to stop it slipping off the bar. That way you don't need a wheelbarrow, which is where all the hard work is. Then I use a garden hoe to pull the concrete onto the reinforcing.

    Hey Johnney, just bought one of these today, just wondering how different they are since you bought yours, can you tell me what size the mixer is and the size of the motor on yours. we are also doing some small slabs, have not built it yet. thanks for the great video and your son is just lovely. thanks for any info you can give.

      I also bought one recently. Mines 120 L . I came here to see about that clanking noise (due to the gears nature) 😂 to see if it was only mine.
      I'd say its exactly the same size judging by the looks. Im not dissapointed though. Good little machine for the price, and today Im using it to make a patio.
      Edit:
      th-cam.com/video/oXoqIujNacQ/w-d-xo.html
      This person also got one 2 years ago, if you put the youtube playback settings on higher quality for video, you can see on his box it says 550W, 125L. So only difference is the +5 L. Motor same.
      2nd edit: at 0:20 in johnnys garage vid, you can see they zoom in briefly on the box, only on higher quality you can just make it out.
      125L, 550W. 👍

    The paddles fit if you fit them correctly, you have to make sure the top and lower half of the bowl are aligned correctly. Not unusual for the 'alignment marks' on the bowl to be off, or as in my case missing. The holes are off set to get the correct angle. If blades are installed wrong the holes wont line up, the mix will spill as the bowl turns.
    Another thing is that sometimes parts are missing, or in my case 2 R pins and 1 large split pin was replaced with 1 R pin and 2 split pins. As it turns out the assemble instructions incorrectly state 2 R pins to retain wheels, when they wouldn't fit. The supplied split pins do.
    The Baumr Mixer is very similar, different colour and pump-up instead of solid wheels ( 135L and 210L). Same frame, bowl and motor.

    Do you still have this mixer and if so how is it going? I'm thinking of buying one to do some concrete paths around my house and some small steps at the front. Would rather pay $299 for this rather than rent one for multiple days.

    What solutions (assuming you had trouble) have you found for tipping into the barrow? I find mine is far too low an awkward even sitting up on a few pavers.

      I found if I overload the mixer its a pain, I've tried putting the barrow sideways alongside the mixer but it likes to tip over so I go in straight but not directly under it. When I pour it I turn the machine off its easier so you dont have to fight the drum with weight turning around.

    Ok mixer,used mine for 2 and half hours straight and it turned off,overheated i assume,it was a hot day and motor is confined in a poly black box,so not ideal,it cooled down started up np worries,they spit a bit and getting your hand in barrel to unstick mix is common, good overall,bit rattly whatever,a 6 and 1 load is plenty for it, and yes needed a 14mm spanner and leave a washer or two of the wheels👍👍👍

    I've been looking at getting one of these. Have you had any issues with it?

    • @john13200242
      @john13200242  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No issues, but I have only done a 3 x 3.5M slab so far. They do come with a 3 year warranty which is quite handy.

      I couldnt even guess, I am not sure. It was on constantly for around 5 hours. Used almost 2 ton's of sand and metal plus I want to say 12 bags of cement but dont quote me. Dont over fil the mixer as the machine finds it difficult to mix to much and you get dry mix stuck on the walls then you spend more attention to that than you should. I was getting mixes that filled my wheelbarrow up to the 90% mark. I am wanting to start concreting under my verandah within the next couple of months, so Ill do a Ozito mixer revisit. Cheers.

    Is it still going well

  • @micknmaggie

    I found it is way too low for putting a wheel barrow under. Unless you are tipping straight onto the ground, its not much good for any thing but a large mouth bucket. and still you will have spillage. You practically have to tip it parallel to the ground to get all the cement out by which time it is pouring on the center support bar. The wheel tipping mechanism is awkward to use if you have a full load. The agitators dont reach to the sides at the bottom of the bowl so there is a lot of unmixed sand stuck to the bowl. I give it a 3 out of 10. Poor design.

    • @CastorRabbit
      @CastorRabbit 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      They have changed the agitator design. Awkward to fit but looks better... we'll see tomorrow.
