- This is from the ATWT episode where Reid (Dr. Oliver) dies. I haven't uploaded the whole episode and i've missed out quite a lot of scenes which don't involve either Luke or Reid because i only wanted to include the more emotional scenes. I can't believe the ATWT (As The World Turns) writers killed him off. Reid and Luke were a really good couple and it's a shame that they split them up. This video also includes characters like Katie, Chris, Bob etc. I had to include them in some.
R.I.P Reid and thanks Eric for playing such an excellent character. Reid & Luke forever!
Why does Reid have to pay the price for Chris's bad decisions, and to add insult to injury why do the writers kill Reid off so he can act as spare parts for Chris! Why does Reid's life mean so little to the writers? Why does Luke and Reid's relationship mean so little to the writers? So they built this amazing relationship between Luke and Reid, and this great character Dr. Reid Oliver, just to kill both of them off! Why make Reid so interesting and that relationship so great if they were planning to destroy it! This is such bullshit!
+Candace Garrett They're soapwriters. They look for drama, it's what they do. Besides, Dr Oliver is dying a noble death: this is entirely fitting his character: he's grumpy and bitchy, never modest, never apologizing, but he's always right and he's always good. This was the right thing to do and he knew it. It's sad, but in a sense, it's beautiful.
HE DESERVED MORE... SO MUCH MORE...
I hated that they killed Reid. Luke and Reid should have ended up together they were so amazing together.
They should have let Reid get to the Bay City hospital , wrestle the heart away from the other surgeon, get back with it and save Chris . Then let Reid and Luke end the show happy, healthy and together!

This clip of this series was so touching when Reid had the accident it was so upsetting I cry every time I see it I just get so emotional when I see it these two Actors should of one enemy’s for this great bit of acting the actors in days of our lives both got enemy’s for there story line and great acting the actors that play Luke and Reid deserve nothing less they should should have one awards for there great acting in this tv drama as the word turns and also they should have not got rid of the series big big mistake
He said "I didn't know I had one to give" I sobbed
Reid's death was heartbreaking; he should have been able to find happiness with Luke during the final episodes.
Van deserves an Oscar for his heartbreaking performance :)

What I don't understand is this, for Noah for giving him his sight back, Luke moved heaven and earth according blackmailed to find the best surgeon in the world and there, it's Reid's life and He just accepts his death without doing nothing. It's not Luke. The writers are so stupid and make me very mad 😠 !

What an amazing but short storyline between Luke and Reid. Wow to the Actors and Writers of ATWT. I really miss the show. Was sad to see it cancelled.Watched it all the way back to my college days and stayed a true fan all these years, especially of the Snyder Clan.
No! Gosh! The most impossible thing is to try and watch this entire scene without pausing to collect yourself!

Yup - it's been a year, just re-watched Reid's entire story again and I STILL bawl just as hard as I did the first time I saw this crappy ending. Oh, If I ever meet those asshole writers... D:
What the hell hospital was that with unqualified doctors ? ...to turn around an injured one in an emergency room doing nothing .I realy don't believe that exist any where in the World ! The doctors do anythig to save the life to the less moment of existence of a person,no metter what! They are there for that reson and only that! If that kind of doctors are in this world,they should not have the licence and should be disqualify immediately !! that scene was the most unreal a have ever seen in my life...and I have seen a lot ! They let him to die ! One of their own who did so much for them and would has done infinitely more ! Disgrace !! Just that...disgrace !!

He's a brilliant neurosurgeon but doesn't know that you press the little button to release the seat belt? Yeah that's believable.
I bawled this entire episode.
The only thing about this? I feel like its kinda out of character for Reid to panic like that? Like, if he had just slowed down and pushed the seatbelt button, he might have gotten out. Crap ending!
When he found the do not resuscitate card my heart died...

actually liked that they killed off Reid in the end ... never liked him with Luke and after the endless moronic twists the writers and producers of ATWT inflicted on the Luke-and-Noah-storyline the series deserved to end in the horrendously forced and implausible plot that was Reids accident and his "selfless" act to actively donate his heart ... what a stupid farce!!!!
The last 9-10 months of this monolithic show were a disaster. Why, oh, why couldn't they have done this a few months earlier, so we could be spared this nonsensical storyline. Luke used to be a character that drove stories... not a prop for some newbie character. A character that essentially became a plot point for the often recast Chris. The Luke/Reid pairing was a chemistry-less bore.
Same for me I cry as hard as I did the first time I watched it.

even though this is crap way to end a beautiful ship. it does make me think reid is a calm thinker but we all know the one person who can make him rashly think is Luke so as his car gets stuck instead of staying calm he gets scared and rash aka remember how he doesn't like the idea of losing someone to early a short love he doesn't want to leave luke so he starts going wild but then what makes me upset at the end before he's hit he accepts his fate and we all know reid thinks acceptance is a coward thing if you want something you fight for it. the real reid would've got out of that car because he would've fought to stay with luke.
