To get that many subscribers you have to play the 'TH-cam game' That means making lots of collaboration videos with other popular "youtubers" so their subs can see me and hopefully hear about my channel. It's the most effective way of boosting your subs, but to be honest I dont' really have a passion for making that type of content so I don't do it unless I have a genuine interest in meeting that particular TH-camr...I'd rather put my time into making these episodes. The other way to get more subs is word of mouth, for people to share my content. Each time people share our episodes I can see the impact and growth directly via analytics. It makes huge difference when people share our videos but it is really hard to motivate people into doing it.
Kombi Life I'm just watching this series all these years later and i've gotta say, the fact that you just make the content that you want to even though you could reach a larger audience otherwise is super respectful. The videos are just so much more interesting as a result and your core audience are a super strong community, I don't think I've seen even one negative comment yet 😁

I love Mexico and Guatemala! Any reason for a fiesta~! Random strangers in the middle of no where = grand adventures! By the time I was able to move to Hawaii I was already crippled. Can float on a board but standing up is no longer an option, thanx Ben for sharing the gopro footage on the wave!

Love your videos. I camped like this in mazunte 20 yrs ago, was just palapas and a couple family restaurants. I now see it’s been discovered and is a busy town. Good to see there are other secret spots to camp nearby on the coast 👌😎
Super episodes! (Oaxaca I&II) I lived in Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca during hurricane Pauline in 97 when it was still a sleepy town with very little tourism compared to Huatulco. I would live in Oaxaca again in a heart beat!!! Thank you for the great videos! My favorite board shorts ever custom fit and hand made at the original Mexpipe clothing factory just off Zicatela! I am quite jealous of all the people that travel like this. But there has to be the boring kind also (the rooted ppl) to make it possible for you to travel like this. It is kind of sad actually. In a perfect world with no money, who knows, it might work for everybody.

I've been working really hard on both Kombi Life and non KL stuff (to make money for travel) so I will get to it ASAP, have been redesigning the website blah blah, but I'll get an episode out this month buddy. Trust me I', not slacking over here. :) Working 50 hours paid work and another 35 hrs on Kombi Life per week at the moment :/
