Schizophrenia is a debilitating illness. This dude fighting through it and finding a way to live his life is an inspiration.
and actually educating people on how it affects him, this illness is so incredibly misunderstood and mocked about its just sad. It's important for more people to understand it.

Wild stuff. Absolutely wild. I'm glad he's still here too to tell his story 🤝
Followed this guys channel since he was just a kid. He put out some really interesting vids of him speaking about his experiences while he was undergoing one of his Schiz episodes, some truly terrifying stuff to deal with alone. Such a nice dude, wish him all the best.

YA, HOW ABOUT MY WIFE
loving the content, andrew talks so smoothly i could fall asleep to it
Love this series Andrew!
Man, I totally feel him. Many of his answer are literally me, I mean as if I am looking at myself in the mirror! I'm rather introvert, shy, I really enjoy my time at home and I often feel like I can't fit. Sure, I don't have schizophrenia, but I guess this is just one of many differences between me and him. He also don't share many of my weaknesses, nobody is perfect generally speaking. So I'm really sorry for him and I wish he can make it and have a great life. But yeah, he is literally me.
I saw a young man who had a dog who let him know when people came in, so that he knows when he's hallucinating an unreal person coming in. It's such a shame that there are not better medicines without the side effects. We should have an Operation Warp Speed for mental illness treatments like we did for Covid 19. I think the paranoia is so terribly debilitating.
It would just give drug companies more incentive to push over prescribing by doctors.
Another common method is using a phone camera, since it’s very unlikely the brain would create a duplicate hallucination on screen.
It requires a bit more lucidity than having a dog though. And the camera is probably confusing to people who aren’t hallucinations and don’t know the circumstances
they still use the same medicines used in the 50's... its disgusting and absolute disgrace. We've always been told to trust the science but there's no one on the frontline putting their time and energy into helping people with severe mental illness. I would argue these people suffer the most in our society and yet they are pushed into hospitals, over medicated and forgotten about. It is truly sickening.
What a nice young man. This will make a great in person chatting with interview - part II. Which I believe ..hands down, is LAHWF's best content. 👉 In person chatting with interviews. Personal, friendly, intelligent, compassionate etc etc.👌
He looks like such a cool and down to earth dude! hope he keeps doing ok.
Nice. Last 2 videos have been people with mental illness. Thanks for spreading awareness ❤️
I'm seeing quite a few people with schizophrenia having really good TH-cam channels.
Glad you are here Brennan, you seem like a great guy ❤🤘
You are a very bright guy. Thanks for sharing
I wonder if he ever tried to change his diet and exercise program. I really have so much empathy for him. He's really has coped he seems so logical. Also, the medications he takes give him suicidal thoughts. He has to hit the gym or work on a sport he loves weekly he has to move he doesn't move enough.
Recently the Maryland health dept was doing a study on how keto diet, or lifestyle too, can help but for some reason recently stopped this study that involved patients. I guess it’s the brain and body starving for nutrients and becoming imbalanced.
@@ceejay6417 I have schizophrenia and I've tired keto, but I didn't like it. So I'm trying intermittent fasting to improve BDNF and it seems to improve my illness, although slight I see more beauty in the world and less scattered thoughts.

Have you ever done any drugs? No. Just nicotine. Lol! Nicotine is the worst drug of all. It's a stimulant that stays in your blood stream for at least 3 days. Definitely causes high blood pressure, stress, cortisol, anxiety, and paranoia.
So true nicotine is the worst of them. That's why I stick with heroin and cocaine. I knew lots of people who do nicotine and they all ended up homeless

I'm a 41 yo schizophrenic and still live with my parents. They make sure I take medication.
I’m not gonna lie Andrew, your interviewing skills are a bit poor and almost disrespectful, or at least out of touch at times, not trying to be hateful but it is hard to watch, this kid seems like he’s got some interesting things to say, so it’s a lil disappointing
you gotta work on your conversation skills. at times it's unprofessional at best and outright disrespectful at worst.
interrupting the person you're speaking with with a random chuckle or an inappropriate question is very unsettling.
leave some breathing room with your questions, leave the space for people to expend on how they feel.
he seemed pretty unprepared too, could have been way more interesting questions here and feels like he was just winging it. Not even hating on him just a bit of criticism
Bro thats literally the point of his interviews. He just a guy asking random stuff.

Do we need to keep an eye on you? 🤨
you are clueless about this mental illness and ignorance runs your life. educate yourself before leaving a dehumanizing comment. NO ONE wants to see your ignorance on full display but EVERYONE in your life you interact with has to see it.
Andrew: So when you were diagnosed were you like 'holy shit'?

It blows my mind that your mother just believed you and immediately took action. I tried telling my mom something was wrong as a child and she completely disregarded me. I’m 34 now and realizing I have to figure it out.
You think that's bad? I showed signs of autism as a child being terrified of loud noises and having learning issues. My mother didn't even blink an eye. It was only at age 33 that I realized something was wrong and got tested finding out I'm fully autistic. Makes me so mad cus this is like starting over again now. I don't even know how to process it 😕
@@shakespearesmilkshake keep up that victim mentality, you will end up never progressing in life lol. 33 and 34 years old and blaming your Moms 😂😂
My grandparents would belittle me over my depression until one night I had a mental breakdown and went a bit crazy. They cried their eyes out cause they never believed in depression. They caught my brother cutting himself the long ways on his arm and almost lost his life. Mental illness runs deep in my family and now they take it seriously. When I moved out for the first time like a year later they upped my rent and all that shit and I couldnt pay so I freaked out and called them and they rushed 45 mins to my place I lived alone and consoled me. It takes hardship for people to finally understand. Now they are with me through and through. It feels good having people understand you.
@@shakespearesmilkshakeI mean autism isn't really a disease like schizophrenia. Schizophrenia is probably far worse to have and not be treated than autism. With the hallucinations and delusions going untreated, they basically completely lose touch with reality and could end up killing someone innocent, not to mention it destroys their own life.
I love how in the thumbmail Andrew looks like the schizophrenic one
this alone sounds judgemental and isn't really cool or funny to say

Psychedelics are just an exceptional mental health breakthrough. It's quite fascinating how effective they are against depression and anxiety. Saved my life.

Yes, dr.porassss. I have the same experience with anxiety, depression, PTSD and addiction and Mushrooms definitely made a huge huge difference to why am clean today.
I wish they were readily available in my place.
Microdosing was my next plan of care for my husband. He is 59 & has so many mental health issues plus probable CTE & a TBI that left him in a coma 8 days. It's too late now I had to get a TPO as he's 6'6 300+ pound homicidal maniac.

Yeah wtf 😅😅
Yeah what is going on here?? Seems like a bad episode to have strange noises like this going on during too 😅
Yeah that's careless editing, there's people with schizophrenia watching this
I was diagnosed with schizophrenic at the 30 17 mark. rip me.
i had weed induced schizophrenia couple years ago for like 2-3 months, peaked high during the beginning and slowly fading away completely at 3 months. me hitting the dab pen everyday, every couple of hours, and then not sleeping for two days finally triggered psychosis. what he said his first symptoms were was the same for me. i felt like i had a hit man trying to snipe me, a fucking ac-130 above me. no joke shit was insane. i felt like i could communicate with people through thoughts alone. all i needed to know was the sound of their voice. i would subconsciously mimic their voice talking to me all in my head. i only saw a few visual things, but mainly just voices in my head randomly, and worrying about people hearing my thoughts. i’m grateful it all went away on its own, i just had to stop smoking weed. i haven’t experienced a symptom since then so im pretty sure im cured and good.
You don’t have the condition. It doesn’t just go away. Weed has been shown to cause psychosis in certain individuals. It’s called “drug induced psychosis”. The weed paired with the not sleeping can cause delusions and mental withdrawal. Be careful because weed is actually dangerous for certain people. Like everything in this world
what youre describing is psychosis, not schizophrenia
@@Kakerate2 ahh youre right i just did some research. schizophrenia can't be cured, while psychosis can. so i definitely had psychosis not schizophrenia.

his numbers are way off. It's 17 and up for men and 19 and up for women to be diagnosed. and my aunt was diagnosed at 13, so there's that.
Seems to be a very intelligent young man. I agree, start exercising. Try boxing or ju-jutsu for instance, I think you will like it. They require more thinking than people might realize.

4:06 👀 Andrew's eyes lol
My brother has schizophrenia and they think was triggered by smoking crack and weed as a teenager for many years. Apparently I have a few minor symptoms but have stayed sober my entire life.
By your experience sober seems was in the family, so drugs for him heavily triggered a genetic predisposition.

I’m on the vapes too, but I think this guys life would be 50% better if he quit vaping.
I’d say at least 30%, vaping doesn’t exactly help anxiety ot your health in general
Many people with schizophrenia smoke or vape because it helps them collect their thoughts which is something commonly struggled with by people with schizophrenia
@@AustinWalkerYT I know exactly what that feels like, it calms the mind. I think that’s why most people vape
And I’ve found with me - vaping literally gives me anxiety. Same with caffeine. I am giving myself anxiety! So hard to stop though

You need to interview StreetsLA, William Gude
StreetsLA has been doing wonders standing outside the Scientology building out on Hollywood Blvd , he lives streams and has saved many people from getting lured into the building!
Doesn't sound like it's worth a full talk.
How about you interview him
My body went schizophrenic and just exploded out into Infinity. It was like I was an ice cube thrown into the ocean and it just melted. This was by far the most incredible and most positive and most joyful experience that you could possibly imagine. That was the moment of death and I had the Epiphany that death is the greatest thing that could happen to a living creature because it feels like in that process of dying for a split second it's terrifying because you're dying and you have no idea what's coming next. But then as you fully let go and the death occurs the next Split Second you're so relieved. It's like your entire life was this giant thousand pound weight wrapped around your shoulders just tons and tons of weight and then all of it was just lifted in a split second and you realize that you're untouchable and that you're Immortal and that nothing could ever disturb you again. It's complete peace just utter peace and joy and profundity. The beauty of it is Indescribable.
How is it possible. There's no way that this is possible. Did I really just die? How could that be?
I'm laughing and I'm smiling 😂
Beautiful
That's trippy, damn!
That ice cube analogy is beautiful
The analogy of the drop becoming one with the ocean of beauty is also used by Plato. Look up Jung and confrontation with the self or the Unio mystica

i was on apipropazole for about a year and i never had any side effects besides restlessness and a kind of impulsive speech, that weight gain shit sucks cause it makes you not want to take it. I had a drug induced psychotic episode that ended at delusions and auditory hallucinations thats luckily gone away after ive gotten sober and i bet this guy knows himself well but its still scary to be off it this guys brave as fuck.
anyone ever tell you could pass as Chris O'Neil from OneyPlays' cousin?
Wow! that was very interesting. I watched a few videos of that guy in the last years on his youtube channel. I always been very curious about schizophrenia and he really describes it well. At a young age, I always wondered why my uncle would start acting up suddenly, talking nonsense and people would give him pills to calm him down, and he was laughing all the time alone by himself
Ive got bipolar, borderline personality disorder, panic disorder, anxiety disorder, ptsd from an event i wont mention, depression and autism spectrum disorder. Its not pretty :( :( :(
At 4:15 Close family(brother of Neuropsychologist) with a condition is a conflict of interest to objectivity to diagnosis, should have had a second opinion, and pharmaceuticals prescribed beforehand could have induced or worsened condition.
I don't know if Brennen looks at the comments but I check out other YT channels with people living with schizophrenia and although in its research infancy as it pertains to the therapeutic effects for those with schizophrenia, ketogenic diets are proving effective for some in that people are able to cut their dosages down or even entirely. Might be worth looking into or talking it over with your medical professional, if he hasn't already.
strong awareness. Clearly he is rooted ("identified") in awareness and not the mind. Very interesting interview. Thank you guys ❤
