Such crucial tips for something so awesome as Gamification. All these hot tips make so much sense. For me, the journey-first approach of Game Thinking, is the game-changer! It forces you to map the player’s journey to ensure that there is a long-term engagement. Thanks Amy Jo!
Thanks Amy Jo - I'm building a b2b marketplace (kind of like etsy or poshmark) that incorporates sharing people's products and following other users, but I realize that those actions don't support the seller's journey of creating and listing the products. I will spend time thinking about how to do this and keep watching your videos for inspiration. Thanks!
Great tips :) It just like any framework: they can be very powerful when applied right, but when you just superficially slam it onto something, it does more damage than good. For me, the hardest part in these tips, is finding an activity to get better at. For example reading news. Is the activity 'reading news' that you get better at? Or the thing you read news for, like buying and selling stocks? The last one could be different for another group of readers that also use your news site.
So true - it can be tricky to identify the core skill that you're building with your customers. Can be useful to think about knowledge, skills, connections - any of those can be the thing you build.
