For first date honestly, hawker is not a great option but if it’s air conditioned and less crowded, it’s okay. But of course every girl wants their guy to plan and make them feel special, so maybe hawker for the first date just feels like you’re hinting she’s not worth the effort of planning. Like picnic is okay, it can be quite simple by just grabbing to go pizza and a bottle of red wine from 7/11 or Giant and you would already gain a lot of affection level for the effort okay.
if the point behind a first date is to have conversation - imagine sitting in a crowded hawker centre during peak dining hours and other patrons hanging around your table and eyeing you guys for not leaving asap after finishing your food cos they want to take over your seats
I personally don’t mind going to a hawker centre for a first date. Feels a little more casual and no pressure. Easier to just goof off and get a feel of how the person is like. If you want to have a little more serious conversations, just do it after as you’re walking to whatever place next. It’s not that serious.
Hawker center can get hot and uncomfortable, let alone on a first date when it might alr be awkward. It's also often crowded, loud and not as intimate. First date should tryhard abit la can always go hawker later down the line. First impression is important. Only difference is when you're already friends with the person you're taking on a first official date. Might know eachother enough to be comfortable with the first date idea.
i feel like if ur broke it’ll be better to cook them a meal instead ❤ unless u r going on a blind date and u have never met the person before don’t bring him/her to ur home 😂
Girls usually want to wear nice nice and maybe do make up for their first date, cus they want to make a good impression. Going hawker center or basically anywhere thats not air conditioned and crowded is just frustrating, unless you guys agreed on a outdoor date then fine, but not alot people will be ok with that too as first date is suppose to be time for you guys to get to know each other more. Go to a restraunt wif air con, no need to be a super fancy one just a place u guys dun have to que and stand like forever, and a place u won't struggle to hear them. In my opinion a date and hanging out is kinda diff, just hanging out is casual, u can go hawker center, casual walk walk ard the mall or the park or smth, like stuff you will do like on a regular day. But a date is abit more special, i will dress up nice nice and we will do some interesting or meaningful things that we dun usually do. Honestly just communicate how u wan the date to be, either plan it tgt or take turns to plan, and dun give the other person shit when u r not the one planning, if u really dun trust their planning either u plan or tell the other person the things u wan to do.
The best first date spot is of course the pit of Carkoon, the nesting place of the all-powerful Sarlaac. In his belly you will find a new definition of pain and suffering as you are slowly digested over a thousand years.
Take advice from a mother of five: Don't flaunt your wallet on a first date. I advised my sons to take their date to a hawker center and observe her reaction. If she doesn’t mind and doesn’t complain about it, then it’s a good sign to ask her out again. However, if she refuses or goes silent after the first date, it’s best to move on. My sons followed my advice and confirmed that it holds true; many girls go quiet after the first date because they think my sons can’t afford to take them to an expensive restaurant or aren’t romantic enough. The same goes for my older daughter. Nowadays, some men expect women to pay for everything. A few guys she dated distanced themselves from her because she preferred eating at a hawker center instead of a fancy restaurant. Fortunately, she and her brother are now happily married to partners who also enjoy dining at hawker centers. My third-born son did the same, after being failed in three dates, he finally found the girl that liked to eat at the hawker center as well. Their engagement is just around the corner.
Tbh, LPS is popular simply because it's located in the city. It's a bragging point for ppl to say "oh, I bring my dates to dinner in the city". Sounds cool, but completely overrated.
Upon reflection, I think hawker center is ideal for a first date - especially if she is wearing makeup. That way when it melts off you will get to see what she (or he, I don't judge) really looks like.
hawker centre or nah
hawker tuah centre
nah
Food courts with AC. The AC is the key. And like a hawker centre, food courts also have friendly prices and something for everyone.

Hawker center dates seem to separate the sambal lovers from the sambal haters…dealbreaker material.

If you really love someone the dating place doesn't matters
why are people so fussy and do u even pay for it ? plus why do u need a fancy restaurant to back u up for first impression ? no personality ??😂😂
Idm u cook for me for a 1st date but hawker center is a no

That’s sweet. They can consider booking the whole hawker centre for their wedding too.

Dating in Singapore feels like a Noir Movie in many parts. You never know what’s coming next.
