Your reaction just made me want to give you a big hug. Really damn cool.
It's been awhile but I know I have watched some other Elvis reactions by you but I don't remember which ones they were. If you haven't seen bridge over troubled from 1970 Las Vegas in the white jumpsuit, check out how emotional & powerful and still subtle and nuanced his voice can be.

The more you listen & learn about Elvis the more you'll realize many of his songs were short -- but fully packed w-power & emotion. It wasn't like now where a song will go on & on & on; & w-Elvis it wasn't necessary to drag it out very long. I suggest you look at his version of "Jailhouse Rock" from his '68 Comeback special stand-up segment in black leather w-all the full out power that was truly him at th-cam.com/video/87N6Qa0D7KY/w-d-xo.html.

A very doggone good reaction🐶! I see 👁👁 that you have reacted to Elvis Presley before: Don't Cry Daddy, If I Can Dream, An American Trilogy and Jailhouse Rock. Hound Dog was released in 1956 as a non album B-Side single to the single "Don't Be Cruel" on July 13, 1956. Soon after the single was re-released with "Hound Dog" first and in larger print than "Don't Be Cruel" on the record sleeve. The single sold more than four million copies on it's first release. The song also appears on Elvis Presley's 1958 compilation album: Elvis' Golden Records. It was written by Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller. It was produced Stephen H Sholes and Elvis Presley. The song reached #1 on the Cash Box Country 100, #1 on the Hot 100, #1 on the Country chart and #1 on the R&B chart.
This live performance is from the Ed Sullivan Show on October 28, 1956. Elvis Presley was just playing with the audience by saying that he was going to sing a sad 😢song. The audience went crazy 🤯for him each time that he acted like he teasingly acted like he was about to start playing his guitar! Notice how they filmed 📽 him from the waist up? "The Elvis Pelvis" was censored by television censors. That little dance 🕺at the end of his performance was like a middle finger to the television censors.
The song: "Hound Dog", was originally recorded in a Blues style by Big Mama Thornton in 1953. Her version was a #1 R&B hit and by far her biggest success. Elvis Presley's version of this song is based on how he heard it performed by a Texas group called Freddie Bell And The Bell Boys, who released the song on the Teen Records record label in 1955. In April 1956, Elvis Presley was booked for two weeks at The New Frontier Hotel in Las Vegas. One night, Elvis Presley and his band explored the Las Vegas strip and landed at the Sahara, where Freddie Bell And The Bell Boys were performing in the lounge. When they performed their version of the song: "Hound Dog", Elvis Presley was impressed and decided to do his own in a similar vein. Elvis Presley used the same lyrics, which differed from the Big Mama Thornton original.
This was one of the first big hits for the songwriting team of Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller, who were teenagers when they wrote the song. Based on the success of the song: "Hound Dog", they were hired to write many more songs for Elvis Presley, as well as the score for his movie: Jailhouse Rock (including the famous title song). Working for Elvis Presley was very good for Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller, but they didn't like what Elvis Presley did with their song: "Hound Dog". "It was nervous sounding" and "It didn't have that insinuation that Big Mama's record had", Jerry Leiber said in a More Songwriters On Songwriting interview. Mike Stoller added: "It's something that really is sort of an imitation that never really turned out well".
Elvis Presley performed this song twice on national TV before he recorded it. The first performance was on The Milton Berle Show, June 5, 1956, which is where he learned that hamming the song up as much as possible would get a huge audience reaction. Unfortunately for Elvis Presley, the mainstream public did not find the sexually charged performance on The Milton Berle Show amusing, and controversy erupted. It was the first major controversy of his career. Letters of protest poured into the NBC mailroom, critics called the performance vulgar, moral watchdogs raised concerns about juvenile delinquency, and even the Catholic Church published an opinion piece entitled "Beware Elvis Presley". The performance earned Presley the sobriquet "Elvis The Pelvis".
The next performance was on the much more staid The Steve Allen Show on July 1, 1956, the day before they recorded the song. Steve Allen, who had already booked Elvis Presley for The Steve Allen Show on NBC, faced pressure from network executives to cancel the performance. Steve Allen refused, insisting he would control the performance so it would not offend the public's sensibilities. For this televised appearance, he sang to a Basset Hound. He was not allowed to dance on the show, since Steve Allen ran a more family friendly program and Elvis Presley's pelvis was not considered family friendly by television censors at the time.
Ed Sullivan, host of a popular televised variety show, publicly stated that he would never feature Elvis Presley. Although Ed Sullivan had publicly stated he would never invite Elvis Presley onto his show, the ratings success of Elvis Presley's appearance on The Steve Allen Show convinced him to reconsider. Ed Sullivan wound up paying $50,000 for Elvis Presley to appear on The Ed Sullivan Show three times. The song: "Hound Dog", was performed during each appearance. Especially in his later years, Elvis Presley didn't like performing this song live. At many of his shows, he rushed through the song or did a very short version. A good example can be seen on his 1973 televised "Aloha From Hawaii" concert.
In 1988, Elvis Presley's original 1956 RCA recording was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame. In December 2004, Rolling Stone magazine ranked it No. 19 on their list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time, the highest ranked of Elvis Presley's eleven entries. In March 2005, Q magazine placed Elvis Presley's version at number 55 of Q Magazine's 100 Greatest Guitar Tracks. Elvis Presley's version is listed as one of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's "500 Songs That Shaped Rock and Roll".
    Elvis Presley Info 📰:
Elvis Aaron Presley was born on January 8, 1935 in Tupelo, Mississippi and relocated to Memphis, Tennessee, with his family when he was 13 years old. He passed away on August 16, 1977 in Memphis, Tennessee. Often referred to as just "Elvis", he was a singer, multi-instrumentalist and actor. Dubbed the "King Of Rock And Roll", he is regarded as one of the most significant cultural figures of the 20th century. Elvis Presley's energized interpretations of songs and sexually provocative performance style, combined with a singularly potent mix of influences across color lines during a transformative era in race relations, led him to both great success and initial controversy.
Guinness World Records recognizes him as the best-selling solo artist in the world, selling up to 500 million records globally. Billboard ranks Elvis Presley as the 13th Greatest Artist of all Time. Music historian Joel Whitburn ranked Presley as the number 1 charting album artist of all time in the US. Elvis Presley' Christmas Album remains the biggest selling holiday album of all time, selling over 20 million copies worldwide. According to the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), Elvis Presley has sold 146.5 million certified albums in the US, making him the third top-selling album artist in the country.
His music career began there in 1954, recording at Sun Records with producer Sam Phillips, who wanted to bring the sound of African-American music to a wider audience. Elvis Presley, on rhythm acoustic guitar, and accompanied by lead guitarist Scotty Moore and bassist Bill Black, was a pioneer of "Rockabilly music", an uptempo, backbeat-driven fusion of Country music and Rhythm and Blues. In 1955, drummer DJ Fontana joined to complete the lineup of Elvis Presley's classic quartet and RCA Victor acquired his record contract in a deal arranged by Colonel Tom Parker, who would manage him for more than two decades. Elvis Presley's first RCA single: "Heartbreak Hotel", was released in January 1956 and became a number-one hit in the United States. Within a year, RCA would sell ten million Elvis Presley singles. With a series of successful network television appearances and chart-topping records, Elvis Presley became the leading figure of the newly popular sound of Rock and Roll music; though his performative style and promotion of the then-marginalized sound of African Americans led to him being widely considered a threat to the moral wellbeing of white American youth.
In November 1956, Elvis Presley made his film debut in: Love Me Tender. Drafted into military service in 1958, he relaunched his recording career two years later with some of his most commercially successful work. Elvis Presley held few concerts, however, and guided by Colonel Tom Parker, proceeded to devote much of the 1960s to making Hollywood films and movie soundtrack albums, most of them critically derided. Some of his most famous films included: Jailhouse Rock (1957), Blue Hawaii (1961) and Viva Las Vegas (1964). In 1968, following a seven-year break from live performances, he returned to the stage in the acclaimed television comeback special: Elvis, which led to an extended Las Vegas concert residency and a string of highly profitable tours. In 1973, Elvis Presley gave the first concert by a solo artist to be broadcast around the world: Aloha From Hawaii. However, years of prescription drug abuse and unhealthy eating habits severely compromised his health, and Elvis Presley passed away suddenly in 1977 at his Graceland estate at the age of 42.

Elvis Presley's funeral was held at Graceland on Thursday, August 18. Outside the gates, a car plowed into a group of fans, killing two young women and critically injuring a third. About 80,000 people lined the processional route to Forest Hill Cemetery, where Elvis Presley was buried next to his mother. Within a few weeks his song: "Way Down", topped the country and UK singles chart. Following an attempt to steal Elvis Presley's body in late August, the remains of both Elvis Presley and his mother were exhumed and reburied in Graceland's Meditation Garden on October 2. Elvis Presley is buried alongside his parents, daughter, grandson and his paternal grandmother in the Meditation Garden at Graceland. Graceland was opened to the public in 1982. Attracting over half a million visitors annually, it became the second-most-visited home in the United States, after the White House. The residence was declared a National Historic Landmark in 2006.
Since his passing in 1977, there have been numerous alleged sightings of Elvis Presley. A long-standing conspiracy theory among some fans is that he faked his death. Adherents cite alleged discrepancies in the death certificate, reports of a wax dummy in his original coffin, and accounts of Elvis Presley planning a diversion so he could retire in peace. An unusually large number of fans have domestic shrines devoted to Elvis Presley and journey to sites with which he is connected, however faintly. Every August 16, the anniversary of his death, thousands of people gather outside Graceland and celebrate his memory with a candlelight ritual. "With Elvis, it is not just his music that has survived death", writes Ted Harrison. "He himself has been raised, like a medieval saint, to a figure of cultic status. It is as if he has been canonized by acclamation".
Having sold roughly 500 million records worldwide, Elvis Presley is one of the best-selling music artists of all time. He was commercially successful in many genres, including Pop, Country, Rhythm & Blues, Adult Contemporary and Gospel. He won three Grammy Awards, received the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award at age 36, and has been inducted into multiple music halls of fame. He also holds several records, including the most RIAA-certified gold and platinum albums, the most albums charted on the Billboard 200, the most number-one albums by a solo artist on the UK Albums Chart, and the most number-one singles by any act on the UK Singles Chart. In 2018, Elvis Presley was posthumously awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
Elvis Presley holds the records for most songs charting in Billboard's top 40 (115) and top 100 (152), according to chart statistician Joel Whitburn. Presley's rankings for top ten and number-one hits vary depending on how the double-sided "Hound Dog/Don't Be Cruel" and "Don't/I Beg of You" singles, which precede the inception of Billboard's unified Hot 100 chart, are analyzed. According to Joel Whitburn's analysis, Elvis Presley holds the record with 38, tying with Madonna; per Billboard's current assessment, he ranks second with 36. Joel Whitburn and Billboard concur that the Beatles hold the record for most number-one hits with 20, and that Mariah Carey is second with 19. Joel Whitburn has Elvis Presley with 18: Billboard has him third with 17. According to Billboard, Elvis Presley has 79 cumulative weeks at number one: alone at 80, according to Joel Whitburn and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, with only Mariah Carey having more with 91 weeks. Elvis Presley holds the records for most number-one singles on the UK chart with 21 and singles reaching the top ten with 76.
As an album artist, Elvis Presley is credited by Billboard with the record for the most albums charting in the Billboard 200: 129, far ahead of second-place Frank Sinatra's 82. He also holds the record for most time spent at number one on the Billboard 200: 67 weeks. In 2015 and 2016, two albums setting Elvis Presley's vocals against music by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra: If I Can Dream and The Wonder Of You, both reached number one in the United Kingdom. This gave him a new record for number-one UK albums by a solo artist with 13, and extended his record for longest span between number-one albums by anybody-Elvis Presley had first topped the British chart in 1956 with his self-titled debut.
As of 2023, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) credits Presley with 146.5 million certified album sales in the US, third all time behind the Beatles and Garth Brooks. Elvis Presley holds the records for most gold albums (101, nearly twice as many as second-place Barbra Streisand's 51), and most platinum albums (57). His 25 multi-platinum albums is second behind the Beatles' 26. His total of 197 album certification awards (including one diamond award), far outpaces the Beatles' second-best 122. He has the 9th-most gold singles (54, tied with Justin Bieber) and the 16th-most platinum singles (27).
Elvis Presley has been inducted into five music halls of fame: Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (1986), Country Music Hall of Fame (1998), Gospel Music Hall of Fame (2001), Rockabilly Hall of Fame (2007) and Memphis Music Hall of Fame (2012). In 1984, he received the W. C. Handy Award from the Blues Foundation and the Academy of Country Music's first Golden Hat Award. In 1987, he received the American Music Awards' Award of Merit.
In 2012, the Zimbabwe and South African spider: Paradonea presleyi, was named in his honor.
In 2018, RCA/Legacy released the album: Elvis Presley Where No One Stands Alone, a new album focused on Elvis Presley's love of Gospel music. Produced by Joel Weinshanker, Lisa Marie Presley and Andy Childs, the album introduced newly recorded instrumentation along with vocals from singers who had performed in the past with Elvis Presley. It also included a reimagined duet with his daughter Lisa Marie, on the album's title track: No One Stands Alone .
In 2022, Baz Luhrmann's film: Elvis, a biographical film about Elvis Presley's life, was released in theaters. Elvis Presley is portrayed by Austin Butler and Colonel Tom Parker by Tom Hanks. As of August 2022, the film had grossed $261.8 million worldwide on a $85 million budget, becoming the second-highest-grossing music biopic film of all-time behind Bohemian Rhapsody (2018), and the fifth-highest-grossing Australian-produced film. For his portrayal of Elvis, Austin Butler won the Golden Globe and was nominated for the Oscar for Best Actor.
In January 2023, on what would have been Elvis Presley's 88th birthday, his 1962 Lockheed 1329 JetStar plane sold at an auction for $260,000. The plane was sold at the Mecum Kissimmee Collector Car auction in Florida.
      Miscellaneous Info 📝:
Elvis Presley had an extensive list of favorite foods that needed to be kept on hand at all times in the Graceland refrigerator. However, there was one item that should always be at the ready in case he decided to eat it. That food was banana pudding. The banana pudding was made fresh each evening that he was staying at Graceland. This way if Elvis Presley wanted to enjoy his favorite dessert of vanilla wafers, banana pudding, bananas and whipped cream it would be ready.

luckily they wrote a lot of other great songs for him - though Big Mama wasn't his inspiration for his version - it was Freddie Bell and The Bellboys, He asked Bell if he would mind if he (Elvis) recorded the song himself. Bell told him to go ahead and the rest is history, as they say.

Leiber and Stoller did not like Elvis's version at the beginning, however after 7 million singles sold I think they liked it better 💰💰😉

Thank you.😀 Oh man that was a sad song.. Ha. yeah. You know, he done that song many times in the 50s. And every time he sang it different and moved different. I don't know how how he does this. And each performance would be as good as the other.

Neat stuff, you seem really cool...
His performance of 'Hound Dog' on the Milton Berle show caused a lot of controversy back then. th-cam.com/video/cAEruhuQENM/w-d-xo.html ....They only showed Elvis from the waist up after that Berle show..

The stanky leg before there was a stanky leg. ( Sorry older people if you don't know what I was talking about. I grew up on Elvis , 50s music and hip hop, my mom got me into the older stuff but I'm still a child of the 90s lol)
