If not there were at least in the same time frame. I think Freddie Mercury and Ronnie were like minded. They both had an opera background...they mixed up the sacred and the profane that's hard to do successfully. They were on the same wavelength yet two countries apart.
This is just brilliant. R.I.P. Ronnie we miss you. Your music will live on forever. Hail the king Ronnie James Dio One of the greatest singers of all time /,,/ /,,/

@zeppelin8787 At first I thought "All The Fools Sailed Away" was a Queen song. He and Brian May were friends. My God, Dio singing with Queen would be so fucking much awesomeness the universe would probably implode! :)
Who do you think had wrote this song? It's Ronnie Dio for sure, and if anyone knows better than me, it's ok, let him tell us. Great song from the King of rock. Dio rules!!!
Listen to this song of dio with my beer 🍺 and weed I get a slow tripping hard in my mind and I love I will do it again again again again and again I love this song

Black Hole Sun sounds exactly like a part of this song. Might just be a crazy coincidence. Funny how Dio actually liked Cornell's music or rather Soundgarden
@jaknichols85 Yeah ok pick one of the most famous vocalists to be the best. Are you fucking kidding me? Fame means fucking nothing about vocal talent I mean look at fucking tom araya and james hetfield. plant was an amazing singer but the best; definitely not.
Queen before Queen ever was... Only Ronnie could pull that off.. A true master!!!!!!

@@krisscanlon4051 agree and best comment ever.
Queen started in 1970 and their debut album was recorded right around the same time this was.
@@michelelaraia7358 thank you!
Part 2 I think there was a lot of Hair/theater rock around in 60s/70s so this falls into that category...Freddie and Dio were both very theatrical
Being a big fan of both Queen and Dio, this feels so good to listen to.
Steve Edwards was the guitarist in Elf before Ritchie Blackmore merged Elf in to Rainbow.
Edwards was said to have become a school teacher after Elf.
Dio was just the Master of Metal.
he's the king of rock and roll.
This is just brilliant. R.I.P. Ronnie we miss you. Your music will live on forever. Hail the king Ronnie James Dio One of the greatest singers of all time /,,/ /,,/
Ronald James Padavona 🎤👉 R.I.P😢
DIO THE BEST SINGER EVER!!!
this reminds me so much of freddie mercury's voice, another great vocalist.
It's not every day you get to be everything you've always wanted to be, go everywhere you've always wanted to go, see everything you've always wanted to see and do everything you've always wanted to do. Relax your mind and you'll be driftin' with me... 🎈
@zeppelin8787 Technichly... it was out a year before of Queen's First album. so actually its a Dio Style.
Except that first album was recorded in 71/72.
living master ronnie james dio
Rest In Piece DIO. One year today you left us. What a void since your passing.

Amazing!! This is so progressive!!
It sounds like queen, but Dio was first. So queen sounds like elf
This track is from '72, the same year that Queen's debut album was recorded, so it's all from roughly the same time frame.
@@zachjohnson637 Queen's debut album was 1973.
@@CB-xr1eg It was released in 73, but recorded in 71/72 (and some of it written even earlier).
@@zachjohnson637 Yes you're right, but I doubt they were trying to sound like Elf. Maybe they took some inspiration from them.🤷♂
@@CB-xr1eg My point is that they weren’t trying to sound like them. This wasn’t even a track that was released at the time. It was just played live.

If I were the king of hearts
I could watch the joker running wild
Making a fool of somebody
If I were the jack of knaves
I'd sort of mingle with the queen
While the king sort of mingled with the trade
If I were the joker
I'd tell the king about the queen
I'd tell the king about the jack of knaves

I'd tell them all about each other

this is really good

10 years today....RIP

wow, great to revisit this song.
would it be possible that Freddie got his singing stlye from Dio and not the other way around. 0_0
This was not Dio's earlist band
first he was bckup for the Vegas KIngs
then Ronnie and the Red Caps
Then Vrious name changs
Then Elf
it would end up just awesome!
@zeppelin8787 OMFG YES!! If DIO had sang Stone Cold Crazy or something like that it would be like a music version of sex!!!
@jackinjones45 Kay thanks for rectifying that. Cheers mate. You do know what you are talking about.

SO " WAR PIGS " Was a discerntemt of Ronnie James Dio Of Course!!!

@motlencore89 This was before queen so freddies voice reminds you of this.
No it wasn't. Queen formed in 1970 and recorded their debut album in 71/72, so it's all from the same time period.
@@zachjohnson637 As I told you above, Queen's debut album was released in 1973.

@zeppelin8787 No Queen is Elf style. Elf was before Queen.

@zeppelin8787 Amen!

@xehluggae nah black sabbath already made that song before this on the paranoid album 2nd 1
Who wrote this song??
Electric Elves at one time beleive it or not, tha is so corny, but that was before they got record deal
There was only three real white singers : Steve Marriott, Ronald James Padavona and Freddie Mercury. Unfortunatly they all passed away. 😭😭😭

@Diofan1952 Robert Plant? Not saying Dio isn't a good singer, but there are better singers.
Haven´t heard anything relevant from Ronnie James Dio before RAINBOW yet, I´m afraid there isn´t anything ...

how can Elf sound like Queen?
