MGA is getting crazier! This shouldn't be that hard. So sad MGA has gone this way.
YES! That is a perfect way to say it! "This shouldn't be that hard." I know it's a doll at the end of the day! A great way of putting it!
No wrist articulation, no doll stand anymore AND plastic clothes: unfortunately an absolute no-go for me😢. I'm not gonna buy this line💔
I know it's so sad! I'm looking at different doll lines to add to my collection in case this becomes the norm for Rainbow High.
A lot of parents buy their kids toys to keep them busy not to have to do the project themselves because it's not safe
I thought that as well, and after the reading of the tiny print, they say that an adult must do it with the child!! This is just wild to me.
@foxarwen The only thing is I don't get it? Why is this toy for 7-8 year olds? When the instructions say do with an adult. Someone needs to sue MGA again. This is child endangerment I think?
@@destinysutton5676 I have no idea who thought this was a good idea at the company but I do hope no one gets hurt from it.
@@foxarwenI hope not.
This is THE BEST honest review I've ever seen! You're 1000% right
aww thanks! I was hesitant to post because I could not find a saving grave but it is what it is.
6:07 yeah, the skirt is plastic… everyone in the line has some plastic outfit minus Iris Bow, the new character. Btw, MyFroggyStuff made a review of Iris and she used hot glue instead of resin, she hates resin XD maybe it could work for you (but I think she didn’t put the pieces together with the plastic pieces, so idk how that would work)
20:41 And yep… she has a bald spot. I knew about all those things because Courtly Jester and Peachy Reviews, who always update us with doll news, talked about them having plastic clothing pieces and they also showed a photo of the gap in Amaya’s Head that someone in the internet took
Also, they probably did a bald spot in her head so the braid would sit nicely, but I think we all prefer having a full rooted hair than a new hairstyle with a bald spot…
I have to watch MyFroggyStuff I want to see if I can recreated what she did. I always avoid other people talking about a doll I am about to unbox but that night I watched Peachy review and was still floored!
@ yeah it makes sense to not watch videos about a product you are going to review, I hope the hot glue works for you ^^
@@judrawing I'm really excited that the moulds could be used without resin.
Watching you break down in real time as you realize the skirt is plastic and she has a bald spot 😂
It was a journey for me a weird sad journey. It was the only unboxing I have ever done where afterwards I was actually sad. I have since given her a makeover so she's lovely now.
I think the worst thing about the Amaya doll in this series is her having a bald spot under her hairstyle in the front, atrocious…. But honestly a long list of mishaps with this doll line. I will not be doing any of the resin gimmicks with this line, I will just be getting the new character for the doll herself.
I was truly sad after the unboxing I still do not know who this line is for?! I will however get Iris for the same reason but I want Bella...maybe if they are on sale. I'm torn.
Make it Mini got recalled because of resin; they think 8-year-olds ask their parents to do the resin gimmick. If I get this Amaya, I have a skirt in mind to give her.
I just learned that MGA has a brand with rein for kids...well I'm gobsmacked!! I'm thinking of restyling my Amaya but I haven't figured out if I'll give her a skirt or paints.
I miss old rainbow High and shadow High, their new dolls are getting worse and worse.I agree with your review.
I miss them, too!! 😭😭I have decided that Amaya deserves better, and I am going to give her a complete makeover.
They aren’t getting worse they are cute
@jaylenehidalgo3210 I like her hoodie and I think her face is adorable. I'm happy you like them.
20:23 I'm sorry but this was the part I was waiting for 😭 I kept wondering the whole time if you knew she was bald...
I went into this unboxing blind...sooo it was a huge surprise!!
Honestly, I tend to intensely dislike the RH Rebrand and am not a very big Amaya fan in general (I only ever got FF Amaya on clearance). I also haven't bought a single RH Rebrand doll because the Rebrand just doesn't feel like RH anymore to me.
But anyway, back to Amaya. First of all, her plastic skirt and incomplete hairline are absolutely terrible. But resin play is something that is dangerous and shouldn't be encouraged to kids, in my opinion. Great review, by the way!🖤💜
Aww, thanks so much for liking my review! Yeah, the rebrand is going in a sad direction. I find myself loving one or two pieces of a doll but haven't yet loved a full look, but the gimmicks oh lordy...save me!
Resin should not be a toy that kids younger than 8 are going to want. Resin should never get on skin and can cause major issues. Also this resin comes from MGA who also does Miniverse. If it is the same resin they put in their Miniverse line then if using a light it needs one rated at 365NM wavelength to properly cure.
The wrists don’t move because of the wrists breaking on the other dolls when kids wanted to change outfits often.
The hard plastic skirt…..no excuse for that. It’s hideous. So is the bald strip on Amaya if you remove the braid on top of her head.
To pay $40 for us Canadians for a doll with no stand, plastic skirt that only stays on if standing straight and a big bald area of the head is ridiculous.
Wow, that is like a Playmobil skirt. I think resin is better off left with Miniverse, not only because of the precautions people need to take when using it, but the whole process seems frustrating, especially for a kid. I don't want to mold my own accessories. Just give them to me. It's not like the people who get these are customizing the items, they're just doing all the work. Please MGA, take the crafting out of Rainbow High.
It really does look like something Playmobil would do! 😮 I heard that the gimmicks are staying...god help us all...lol!
Firs off kiddo, I am so sorry this was your first foray into resin. You did an amazing job, for not being prepared. I could have given you some pointers, but my wife knows more. GlitzandGlitter is an expert, and pouring your heart out, are a couple of Ladys that can give you more in-depth info. Secondly, plastic? well way to fall short, and cop out. Thirdly, and MOST importantly - resin? even though it is now the "safer" resin. Look at the miniverse re-issue of their resin fiasco. (even though it clearly states the dangers) Kids got sick and hurt from no adult supervision. The company recalled everything, and issued new "safer resin" My wife and I were in tears at your frustration. Know this - you ARE completely justified in your complaint. The company needs to step up, and accept the mistake. And it is clearly a 100% failure. Get as many friends as you can to write the company. You give me the company contact info, and I will send a complaint myself. That is a sad excuse, even for a kids toy. $40 for a half-assed sculpt, with all those defects!!
I don't think resin will be my thing but yes the poor doll was done dirty!! I don't know where this line is going but I am watching from the sidelines.
I mean...It's so sad the quality on these is so bad! As an ADULT collector who likes resin crafts I was excited. I Pre-ordered the pink one before I knew she had a PLASTIC SKIRT! Honestly offensive! I'm gonna try to use the skirt as a mold and steam the pattern into some felt and make her a new one. If it works it could be cute...
The resin craft seems like the molds leave too much room for error. Also I feel like in MGA's other kits they give you a finer grit sand paper. I don't know why MGA is obsessed with giving resin to children. It's toxic and complicated to use. I'll bet if you sand down your smooth plastic a bit and re-resin the ears on, they'll stay better. Also, if you warm up the bottle in a cup of warm water there will be fewer air bubbles. I use fire to pop surface air bubbles too, but again...seems too complex and dangerous for kids...If I were a child and got this, I'd be disappointment when my project didn't work out the way I wanted! Terrible quality! Terrible concept. I feel like this is the first time we are seeing absolute garbage from Rainbow High and it makes me sad!
First, I want to thank you for the tips so I can work with it better. I do have enough left to try again and I do like the ears and horn. The resin was my main concern but the plastic clothing (the skirt constantly falls off her and I taped it on her.) Oh, and the bald spots just were beyond my tolerance. *Sigh* I will miss Rainbow High when it finally goes away.
@ I mean it’s so sad! I feel like this release is the first one that was actually terrible! The first couple from the reboot weren’t as good as the OGs but at least they were still quality dolls on par with other fashion dolls of similar price. I love the Winter Wonderland dolls. I could have done without the gimmick, but they’re still cool. Maybe this one was just a mistake, and it will get ok again!
@@Ministitches It is sad! I think the Winter Wonderland is pretty and I like the look of the slime girls but I do hope it gets better too!!
This Is why I'm getting the older dolls and monster high
The older ones are stunning! Hopefully you can find them on sale too!
I love making resin things but the plastic skirt and no stand is atrocious. Definitely waiting for a sale on these ones because this is just everything rainbow high wasn’t
On sale is a good idea the resin works and I'm sure you will do better than me at it!
Yeah, I'm done with Rainbow High. I will buy Jett Dawson one day but that's it. I got into L.O.L. OMG and Tweens last week. I know those lines are downhill too but I only want a few older ones. Monster High is still good and ily 4ever are still fun
Knowing me I'll collect them till the end but I won't be happy about it. ooo I love ily 4ever doll and also loving Barbie Dream Besies.
This is awful. Feel bad for the collectors and children.
Is it for kids or adults, yikes, MGA just needs to make up their mind! Completely inappropriate for kiddos under age 13.
I agree! This one still confuses me.
So....i think im done making excuses for Rainbow High, cause I dont want them to go, but I dont even get excited for them anymore. Its getting more and more stupid and not even close to WHY people started collecting and liking these in the first place. These should just go away if they arent even going to make an effort. I guess Ill wait til they show up at Ross (or other discount stores), to decide if i still even want to pay half price.
The creative crystal line falls into a budget line quality-wise for me but I hold out hope for a cute line to come out in 2025. I agree that this is the end of the rainbow high we all fell in love with.
My favorite doll collector youtuber don’t use the resin she used hot glue a craft knife and paint and nail polish.
That's awsome!! After I read this I pulled out my hot glue gun and made Amaya a new horn...it worked!!
i love resin but i cant go for this
20:37 bold! Bold head!
I know it's wild!!
I'm getting iris and violet❤
I will buy Iris because she is a new character but I don't know?! Maybe if they are on sale. I hope all your resin pieces turn out fantastic!
Thanks for this!
You're welcome! I hope it helped in some way:)
Rainbow high 😢
Aww I know I nearly cried when I found out she has bald spots.
I don’t know in what world
this could be for children… the hair is disappointing and the outfit is lackluster… you’re looking beautiful as always and the nails are correct 💅 too bad about the doll 👎
I'm still baffled and poor Amaya deserved so much more. Thanks for noticing the nails I alway feel put togther with a set a talons!
omg when you tapped her plastic skirt with your nail, I knew it was plastic but that was still hilarious to watch 😂 I also knew she was bald too which is the worst ever.
Just looking at all the dolls in your background, it's hard to believe it's the same brand
I don't want kids to be poisoned by resin but I also really want MGA to be massively sued so that they quit with all this "do it yourself" crafty BS
I like to unbox dolls without knowing anything about them, but after this experience, I might need to watch other unboxings so I don't go into shock. 🤣 I don't know how long Rainbow High can last, but 2025 might be interesting. All I know is I need a vacation from the crafty gimmicks!
Thank you for your demonstration and review, you just saved me money that I do not have right now 😅.
Glad I could help! Poor doll though I still want to restyle her.
