It's just not worth it. There is always the risk of slipping of course, but why put yourself out on the ice. Hacking will be there another day, but our precious babies are fragile!
Ah thank you! That’s lovely to know. I often feel I have to wait to have something “exciting” to share but perhaps I should just share the normal days 🤣
Please, please forgive me if I've got this wrong. You look to have so much more self belief. A stronger, more comfortable belief that you can, indeed really do this. Kudos to you and your instructor.
I think this is a lovely thing to say. Self-confidence and belief is always something I will have to work on, as it doesn’t come naturally to me (and never has with the horses) but I agree, there is something about Harley that gives me so much confidence. Perhaps also having lost a horse as I did, it has made me want to enjoy the present more and get on with it, not fear failing but enjoy the trying! X
Your extremely lucky to have a friend like Miri Hackett. She's an amazing horsewoman. She's horsemanship minded & so many in the equine world are not. She's a superb rider & knows her horses inside out. One of the few people that actually know what they are talking about! Lucky you to be friends with her!
I thought so too, much happier and more willing to stretch down and offer that, something that was impossible when i first tried him! And thank you, that’s very kind of you 🥰
I so empathize with your comments about the trial and error of best rein length, where my balance best complements the horse’s balance etc. So many subtleties to sort through every ride!! You and Harley do look like you’re getting the hang of each other very nicely though! Thanks for sharing!
Love watching this so much, specially since it's by own day off from riding so I'm happy to get my daily dose of horse ears and cuddles from your vlog 🤩 I couldn't help but to giggle a little at your idea of "very chilly" though, we have -14 here and I'm currently trying to think strategically on how to dress for my hack tomorrow. 😅 Thank god I'm riding a woolly bear so at least I don't have to worry about him!
I'd really love a video like "what's in my barn trunk', or 'how I organise my barn box'...I'm very curious what and how you store stuff in that big box in front of his stable.
Very nice. I have only recently started following you, but I can see your confidence building. Harley really is 'the right sort' to grow that confidence and have some fun.
lovely vlog! yet to watch, i really like how you are worried about the roads, a lot of people don't think and horses slip

I think these are my favorite vlogs of how you ride on regular schooling days on your own. He does look happier with that bit!

She’s a fabulous lady! ❤️
I thought he looked comfortable in the new bit. You look good together, Rhi, so happy for you❤

So happy for you! You deserve it.
He absolutely beautiful ❤️❤️… x
I feel seen by your comments around 6:00 - admitting I genuinely love my newer horse was really tough for similar reasons. Thanks for sharing!
Ah, in one way I’m sorry that it resonates as I know the pain of it, but love that you feel seen ❤️
Amazing. He is so gorgeous and you two look like you will have an incredible partnership! (Also love Miri!). ❤❤❤
Thank you! And Miri is just great ❤️

100%! Its nice to know it’s not just me that struggles with these seemingly simple problems 🤣 this is a safe space for us 🤣❤️

Ah thank you so much. Oh my goodness... minus 14 celcius?! Where on earth are you based to be riding in those temperatures haha.
I do see a difference with the new bit! A happy, comfortable boy ❤
Me too. We are tweaking away and will no doubt continue to and it’s nice to see him responding well ❤️
You really suit and complement each other, it’s lovely to see you getting on so well together ❤
Ah thank you so much. I’m just loving getting to know him. Spring is going to be very fun indeed!
Harley is such a poppet! I love your vlogs.
He is SUCH a poppet isn’t he 😭 and thank you ❤️
It must feel so special seeing him learn and grow. I'm so happy for you, he seems like a lovely boy ❤
It really is. It is such a privilege to work with such a lovely young horse ❤️
Good boy !
🙊❤️
Super! He is still quite new and you are quickly building a solid partnership of trust and mutual respect 🎉😊
What an incredible pair ❤ it’s so lovely to see how much joy he brings you!
It’s nice to feel I can begin to “let go” a bit and let him in… because he’s a fabulous guy to know 🙊🥰

Oh sure! I’d be happy to do a video like that. I can’t promise I’ll film it immediately but I’ll put it on my list 🤣🙊
Hey! I am actually so happy, I dont know if you remember me but I got one of the riding diaries for Christmas and I am over the moon 😁♥️
Ahh fabulous! I hope you enjoy it. Merry Christmas 🤍

Ah, well firstly, thank you for joining us! And thank you - he’s just fabulous and he does give me a lot of confidence. I hope I give him that too 🥰
