@@Johnlindsey289 The GCI was perfect as it was used in the backgrounds, to support the visuals and as action effects like lighting, etc. The CGI in The Dark Crystal: The Age of Resistance was excellent as it supports the story and didn't overwhelm the action. Hollywood take note!

The Dark Crystal has been in my top 5 soundtracks list my whole life. I can't get over how sweeping and amazing it is, and it definitely feels like you're going to some fantastic ancient place. It's a shame Trevor Jones always seemed to be forgotten in the list of great film composers, though at least plenty of folks know the legacy of his music.
watched this movie as a kid I didn't grow up in the 80s but my mom did and showed it to me. genuinely such a good movie with so much potential the show was great as well it's a shame this masterpiece was cancelled. Rest in Peace Jim Henson❤
A Universal Pictures release Lord Grade presents for ITC Entertainment A Jim Henson film "Another world, another time, in the age of wonder... A thousand years ago, this land was green and good until the crystal cracked, for a single piece was lost, a shard of the crystal. Then strife began, and two new races appeared: the cruel Skeksis and the gentle Mystics. Here in the Castle of the Crystal, the Skeksis took control. Now the Skeksis gather in the sacred chamber, where the crystal hangs above a shaft of air and fire. The Skeksis with their hard, twisted bodies, their harsh, twisted wills. For a thousand years they have ruled, now there are only ten. A dying race, ruled by a dying emperor, imprisoned within themselves in a dying land. Once more they gather at the crystal as the first sun climbs to its peak, for this is the way of the Skeksis who ravage the land, so to they learn draw new life from the sun. Once more they will replenish themselves, cheat death again, through the power of their source, their treasure, their fate... The Dark Crystal." Jim Henson's T h e D a r k C r y s t a l
I first watched this movie when I was 16 and it resonated with me in ways I can’t describe. Everything about the mystics and skeksis seemed so hauntingly familiar, like something from a dream I had when I was little, and the overall theme of the whole world being spiritually connected was so relatable to my outlook on life. Never has a movie exemplified my love for fantasy like the dark crystal.
Seeing all the dark fantasy memes makes me want to watch movies like this. As well as Labyrinth, Willow, the Neverending Story, and even David Lynch's Dune
Thank you so much for uploading this :) I have it on DVD and there is an option to watch the film with only the score, and no voices. Best experience ever.
:35 Sounds a little like the neverending story! (1st one) I love this music and the movie! I still get scared of parts of it though, and I'm almost 19. I showed my 3 year old nephew the movie and he liked it.
I thought it was my Mom I had the volume up pretty high and once I heard it I turned around really fast because I thought she was shouting at me then I got creeped out because no one was there
This movie is a classic and it was a marvel when it was released. Sadly ET cast a huge shadow that year…. Still one of the best sci-fi movies ever and with this enchanting absolutely pitch perfect movie score Trever Jones did.
They *really* do. I say this all time. Only sequels to movies before the 90s have any good ones. Even the new Star Wars was lacking compared to the originals - although Rey's theme was lovely.
Yoo the Soundtrack isnt available for me in apple music in germany anymore im sad now…. I want to support such great music directly through listening it online instead of third party uploads again🥲
Dark Crystal is still one of my favorite movies ever. No CGI or over the top special effects just a lot of soul. Movies today miss that.
MantiaRyche and labyrinth
A prequel tv show with both practical effects and CGI and puppetry/animatronics is coming to netflix this august

my favorite movie of all time
Somehow, this theme sounds like the most iconic fantasy movie theme ever. Not sure how or why, but this overture feels like the gold standard.
Excalibur, Star Wars (mixes sci-fi and fantasy) and more too
"I was born under a shattered sky. The crystal sang to the three made one."
One of the greatest unsung movie scores ever.

Fantasy and Sci-Fi music from the 80th, there is nothing what it is better.
this song makes me feel alive.

I can feel goosebumps spreading on my legs, arms, and face!
Definitely a beautiful score. One of my favorites.

The dark crystal = epic win!
This sounds really similar to some of the studio ghibli films. That's definitely not a bad thing.

This music brings me memory of great excitement and great pain, Why was this series abandoned?
Netflix are cheap fucks
Epic score. Epic movie.
Also in this version! Listen at 0:31, it sounds like someone shouting in the background!
I thought it was my Mom I had the volume up pretty high and once I heard it I turned around really fast because I thought she was shouting at me then I got creeped out because no one was there

If you liked The Dark Crystal, both in tone and score, I also recommend Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind

Epic score, the prequel show should be awesome
Indeed
Ending themes soundtrack
Yes!
I was reffering to braindead action movies, like Transformers for instance.
Y'all apparently haven't seen "The Last of the Mohicans."
What do you mean??
Any song better than this one??
Scores in today's movies stink!
+Kate Isted Actually, many are very good.

Not true. Check out "The Ring," and "A Cure For Wellness."
“One Hour Photo” is good too.
