    Definitely some great reasons for collecting this line... I would add that its not a huge reason but still is a factor....is the customization factor... So easy to swap heads and parts that it makes this a real custimizers dream... Adding your own paint touches as well is always fun for those who enjoy doing that .. just an added reason to get into this line...👍💀

    Great points across the board
    I quit legends last year when the spiderman 3pack was announced, two of my most anticipated releases ever $10 more than they should be, no unmasked heads, exclusive to hasbro insuring no clearance sales
    I shifted over to mcfarlane (I had some) and began collecting full time and as a collector I have never been happier with my displays and figures

    If you're going to go for only five, you nailed it! Does McFarlane make perfect figures? (well....sometimes) Mostly no, but when he's ON, he's unbeatable. McFarlane makes the best superhero figures for that price point in the market, and we should all be tired of pretending he's not. Unlike the competition, he actually listens to his criticisms. Got rid of the ball joints, got rid of side eye, expanding character selection, including alternate heads and more hands. It might take a while (hey, these companies have budgets), but the point is is that we can see he's ever improving. It IS a young line and longtime superhero action figure collectors might all be pro Legends (I have plenty myself), and no doubt that line has the strongest following in superhero figures, but Hasblow has had the license for like 20 years now! And based on the fact that they've been trying with everything in them to check off every bad business decision they can make with their toys, it isn't hard for McFarlane to have surpassed them in every way. Just look at how Hasbro had to learn their lesson about plastic-less packaging. Now, if you want to compare McFarlane DC to Hasbro's G.I. Joe line, especially with their recent releases, I don't see McFarlane topping that, not that I have any. Too much I've missed out on, and WAY too expensive at this point. NO ONE beats McFarlane DC for sculpt (Ultimate NECA is just as good, if not better, but they're in a higher price point), McFarlane in some cases have better articulation than even Legends, especially with Legends's outdated wrists, value is higher per figure (who the f*#@ do Hasblow think they are charging what they charge sometimes?!), only need four figures for BAF instead of 6 or 7, less repeated and reused bodies and accessories, sometimes we get soft goods which is something Legends isn't doing, getting some good $40 statues (but I'd pay $50 for greater sculpt and paint), and now that McFarlane seemingly has finally got real person facial scans down, Legends can't even beat McFarlane for actor likenesses on movie figures. Sorry for the long comment, glad to find another DC Multiverse guy who loves the line as much as I do!

    In regards to character selection, all you have to do is compare it to the first 3 years of any other toyline. The first 3 years of Marvel Legends, or Mattel DC, and you’ll see how insanely wide the line already is. The issue is everyone’s got their favorites, and it’s a universe of thousands of characters. If he makes a Zatanna, people will start complaining about Star Sapphire. I enjoy the unpredictability of it all, and it is indeed filling out nicely, if people can just get over the fact that Rebirth and not Classic is the main line at the moment. Look at Kyle Raynor, we went from zero to 3 completely legit comic versions in the span of 2 months. Todd is elbow deep in DC itself, with his own money he resurrected DC Direct and is doing some publishing on the comics side. It’s not out of the question he could be part owner or a major stockholder in the near future. I think this line will go on for decades frankly. And to me, that’s the number 1 reason to collect: even now you’re kind of getting in on the ground level.

      He did say female figures don't sell, and I can't tell a guy whose been selling toys for 30 years he's wrong. I've seen his own designed Wonder Woman (I have both versions) warm pegs. But, gosh darn it, I'm dying for a classic base Wonder Woman, Zatanna w/ top hat, Black Canary w/ leather jacket and fishnets, New 52 or Rebirth Mera, Johns era Star Sapphire, Starfire, Circe, Silver Swan, classic Shayera Hawkgirl, Supergirl w/ a skirt, and who could not want a damn good Hush arc Poison Ivy!

    Hit all the points that I've appreciated about the line. Hearing collector's and constantly changing is so important. I feel the scale being 7 inch instead of 6 inch grabs my attention more and display better. I spend more time looking at that collection over other lines. The size and for the price McFarlane is second to none.

    The big thing I hate is how many figures dont get shipped to Australia so its either get it from over seas for stupid money or miss out E.g captain atom figure is only on Amazon in Australia and its close to 100$ or the flashpoint wave not even being in Australia whatsoever

    People focus so much on how many Batman figures McFarlane releases that they miss all the other characters. I don't pick up all the Batman figures and have only 5 different variations from Mcfarlane. That said, I have about 60 figures in only 3 years of McFarlane toys and very few duplicate variations. One thing that DHunter does that I've learned to appreciate is when he does his comparisons in his review he shows all the different versions of the character that McFarlane has released, and it's amazing that this "Batman only" line has put out SOOOO many other characters, again, in only 3 years. Also, I think the quality improving for the characters is a direct result of the increase in price. Almost as if Todd feels bad about having to raise the price (because he always said he didn't want to raise the price as long as possible) and as a result is putting more care into the product so that it feels more justified.

    • @DCMultiCollector
      @DCMultiCollector  ปีที่แล้ว +3

    People are pretty ignorant in how a business works if he released every figure we wanted right from the get go then once he put them all out we wouldn’t have a reason to collect anymore cause we got what we wanted right away so he pulls us in every few months with the ones we want

    • @kevrulz06
      @kevrulz06 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Damn good point. Great example: Tim Drake. He gave everyone that Gotham Knights one, then the New 52 Red Robin (which I love to death), then that all red costume one, then finally gave everyone the one they really wanted with the classic costume. Some people might think this is a sleazy business tactic, but you only need to explain your point.....OR just point them to the absolutely awful checklist of bad business decisions of the direct competition (anti collector plastic-less packaging, insane price hikes).

  • @chaplin139
    @chaplin139 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    The major challenge with MCF, especially with female figs, is that the face sculpts are ridiculously ugly, namely Supergirl, Supergirl from the Flash Movie, and Supergirl from the page punchers line. What I've noticed is that if the female fig is already unmasked, they are unable to create decent faces already. Monster and villain wise - they reign supreme. I love their megafigs as well. I hope they can step up with the female head sculpts. It's trash compared to what DC Direct has created. I own both, so I can't help but compare.

      It's just so annoying that they don't just make more of Bane, Comedian Joker, Grim Knight, and the Starro and Merciless BAFs.
