I am forever fist in the air yelling at the clouds as they pass by that Skindred doesn't get more love. No one sounds like this, never really have, awesome shows, good dudes. Almost makes up for the food in the UK 😅. BRIXTON!!
Met Benjie while fixing a computer for one of his mates, in a guitar shop in Cardiff 25 odd years ago that guy is sadly dead, but Benjie was amazing, always 'on' and a larger than life character nicest guy in the world, saw him play after slayer at sonisphere in 2012 - a few years later, wearing a silver plastic suit and despite it being in broad daylight he rocked and was the best.
Ahhh that's really cool that he was a great character both on and off the screen! Thanks for sharing that with us 🙏🏾 and will add that to my reaction list! Thanks for watching with me 🤪❤️
I've had the joy of seeing this band at a huge festival, as well as at 2 of Mt local clubs. They have had tracks on one of the first Need for Speed Underground games (nobody). They love playing small private venues for the fans as well as the big festivals. They do have lighter ones with softer singing and a more reggae vibe, but it always has a small undertone of the metal in it all. ( songs like L.O.V.E.) Me and my friends have met with the band, and the lead singer even played a guest dj spot at what was our local nightclub, even coming back to do a guest set in respect to one of the big djs of this area who unfortunately died. He's an awesome guy who remembers people's names when he's met them before.
Ahhh dya know what Dave, that sounds like they are a genuinely good set of people as well as enjoyed by many, like my mate who recommended them! Might not be exactly my thing, but they def got my respect! 😊
Yup and sadly kind of ahead of their time back in the day. The metal heads didn't like 'em coz they were reggae and the reggae bunch didn't like them coz of the metal bits! Was a tricky time and it's such a shame that they never got the recognition they especially Benji deserves
if u do wanna try it again with something lighter, Pressure is very good, very dancey, not as heavy as this (except for a tiny bit of growlin), and This Appointed Love, which is new testament Skindred, so it's less fusion and more reggae sections, then metal sections (tho the metal in this song is lighter, like almost rock)
there's a billion different flavors of music because not everything is FOR everyone. there's only 3 REAL categories of music and they're VERY personal. what you like, what you don't like, and what you haven't tried yet. one's goal should always be to eliminate the "have not tried yet" pile entirely. as my mother once said "picky eaters lead boring lives".
lol you were not feeling that but you tried. I was moshing to Skindred like 15 years ago. Legends.
Looool... I DID try! Always stay open minded... but I struggled on this one 😂😂 but gotta respect the hustle, they've been in the game for a while! 😊

at least i'm not the only one standing in my yard, screaming into the abyss that Skindred need more airplay and respect.

Bro ok this is the reaction that got me to subscribe to you!! Aye nobody wanders out and touches on unexplored music like this!! F.v.c.k. yes man!! 🤘
Ahhhh!! Thank you so much for watching and it's really encouraging to hear that someone enjoys the variety too! Thanks for the sub!! 😜❤️
I met the guitarist of Skindred in 2010 at a metal hammer summer school in Brighton great guy I wish I could’ve met Benji Webb though 😅
In truth. Skindred draws more metal heads to reggae than the other way around. Try Pressure or No Fear for a less aggressive fusion.
Id say skindred were a ragga / metal fusion. Nice reaction fella 😊
Ahhh thank you my bro! And yeah, I've definitely now been able to see what that fusion actually looks and sounds like! Ha, thanks for watching dude! 🤪

Check out L.O.V.E. from their new album Smile. It's far more reggae. I think you may appreciate that one more.
