You have a great presentation style and voice. Can you recommend a light-weight modular helmet where the chin bar flips all the way back on the helmet?
I tried this one to replace my RPHA Max. Seems it didnt fit the shape of my head. People change over time. Still I liked the quality feel of this helmet. However, they should make larger and deeper space for speakers.
Thanks for this review! Tried one of these on in a local store where I am (Singapore). Mostly loved it, but the chin strap really dug into my adam's apple. Is there a way to adjust where the ratchet strap sits on the chin? I usually wear D-ring helmets, so I don't know.
You're welcome! The HJC weighs around 1470 grams whereas the Nolan N100-5 weighs around 1650 grams. We haven't tested the helmets on the road yet, so we're not sure which one will make less noise. Build quality is excellent with both helmets, though the outer shell of the HJC will be stronger and last longer. The Nolan is made from Lexan (hard polycarbonate) and the HJC is made from P.I.M. plus fibreglass and carbon outer shell.
Hey FortaMoto, thanks for this helpful info. So...how can I get a hold of one of these now? I looked up your website and it appears it's not available yet. I also couldn't find an email address for you. Thanks!
You can do a preorder; as soon as the helmet will be available it will be shipped to you ;) For other questions please contact trough service@fortamoto.com
Some colours are available as of now, such as the matt black finish. If you wish to contact us, please use the contact button on the right side of every page on our website.
Can you install a clamp type sena, or will the internal visor slide be in the way thus making a sticky mount the only option? With a harley and using the sena freewire the Cardo is not an option since I believe it will not pair up with the freewire... thanks for the info.
LazyMonkey hmm.. i guess its in the Middle.. not very loud but not very quiet. The size doesnt fit for me. After a short Test Drive i Change it to a Schuberth c3 pro.
LazyMonkey i had the c3 before too.. the c3 pro ist a really great Update. I guess its the better Option then the rpha 90. The visor can be closed much easyier in the c3 pro than on the c3. Its really a great helmet.
Just a note the new spot for the sun visor controls is exactly where you'd mount a external Bluetooth communicator. Manufacturers need to stop doing this.
This is one of the nosiest helmets I have ever had with the top vent open. to sit an listen to plastic rattle is not fun. The back open/shut vent does nothing. The lower cut (Shorter) from the RPHA Max makes the chin strap cut into your adam's apple and rides further back under your jaw. I would not recommend this helmet but there is no returns when you buy it. As for the Red color unit it is more orange then red. My wife traded with me to try the new 90 unit and wanted the old RHHA MAX back after just 20 miles out of our 200 mile short ride from MN to WI and back a couple of days ago. April 11, 2019 is my response. I hope HJC is not listening to your slanted review or maybe you got paid by them.
Every helmet performs different in different riding positions, on different bikes and on different heads, so it's always subjective when somebody says a helmet is quiet. If you're having a problem with your ventilation I would suggest contacting your dealer, it sounds like a warranty issue. I personally would recommend this helmet - it's true that it is not quietest helmet, and also not the most stabile at high speed. Then again, it's a modular helmet - it's not marketed as quiet, it's marketed as a sporty modular helmet. And for the record, we do not get paid by HJC to make reviews - we invest in making reviews to present our customers with an honest opinion. Check out our road test video, you will see that we also have some criticism th-cam.com/video/BeXbT8YcRwE/w-d-xo.html - Ride safe!
Correct, we were going through the specifications in this video. You can find our road test review of this helmet here: th-cam.com/video/BeXbT8YcRwE/w-d-xo.html

I'm afraid it's not possible to adjust the position of the chin strap
Thank you for your reply!
Thanks for this review. How does this helmet compare to the new Nolan N100-5 in terms of weight and noise?

My guess is that the sticky mount will be the only option.
Sorry @Fortamoto but you CAN use a clamp. I used the Sena with this helmet, and all went super!
Jüdäs no idea. I use the SMH5. I assuming you can use all kind of clems... by that is a guesse
I was wondering this same issue with the slide on the lower left side if I can install a sena 30k there.
Dutch?
English! Our shops are (currently only) in Holland, though.
This or the neotec 2..... hmmm
