Nice! I had the VH140C back in the early 90's. Today I am using the Airis Effects Effigy Of The Distortion pedal in the effects loop of my Engle Fireball 100 to get some of that old school scooped tone but with the insane power of a modern tube amp.
Sounds killer! Absolutely love my GX130C, probably my favorite Crate of all time. The chorus is great for that 80s hair type sound too, lots of fun. Using my SNK VHD pedal in the loop and I get instant VH140C too, it's win / win.
Got the crate xlp preamp while for like $100 hard af to find it kills with a Randall power section. 130c can still be found for good as deals too if you’re lucky.
@@Anthoniexg Marketplace up here by Seattle there's 2 130's for 300-400 rn, i just sold a ss150h I found at goodwill for cheap. If you haven't tried a ss150h I highly recommend as well they can sound pretty good if you can find em cheap.
Had a Blue Voodoo for a while but it was a bit too noisy to my liking. Might keep my eyes peeled on this one because that first distortion tone is fire
@@RubenGuerra-zo7ty yea so basically your taking the signal from the preamp, you do need to be plugged into and amp or a dummy load box which is what I’m using. I’ve since gotten a suhr load box ir which I highly recommend. This is the cheaper way of doing it

I picked up the 2x12 combo for $89 at a pawnshop. Running it into a genz benz gflex 2x12 it sounds insane.

14:40 that super low drop tuning makes all riffs sound like XIBALBA or something :)

Only been seeing 130c heads for like $1000 but the combos are cheaper. Got an insane deal for the SS150.
I have this amp and the xlp preamp. Both absolutely rip. The xlp through my Duncan power stage 700 is insane

So you do the send into the interface and a cord into the return not plugged in to anything? Then can i use a cab sim instead of the load box?
